We have heard the very sad news that our own lovely WubblyBubbly passed away very peacefully this week, after two years living with breast cancer. MrWubbly let us know on this thread, where many have expressed their condolences and shared their memories of Wubbly.

We have offered to make a blanket for MrWubbly and their son, Lawrie. MrWubbly has said that both he and Lawrie would love this and they are very touched by the idea. We hope that it may bring whatever comfort it can to them both.

So, we need knitters, crocheters and donors. If you would like to donate wool, then we can match you up with a crafter.

RatherBeOnThePiste will coordinate and match crafters and donors, and deal with the admin side. I'll try to answer any queries you may have and will put together the blanket.

If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM Pistey with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc, and she will match you up.
If you are offering to donate, we would be grateful if you would let us know if you'd like to donate 1 or 2 balls of wool. They cost roughly £5 per ball.

Crafters, if you need wool please let Pistey know if you'd like 1 or 2 balls of wool.
One ball should make at least 2 x 6" squares.

Thank you all so very much Thanks

First square almost done, it's a stitch pattern I've never tried before and I'm really pleased with it. Pics when it's finished. Have to say, I love the Rowan Cashsoft, never used it before.

SoupDragon · 29/02/2012 12:41

Oh... I love the waffle stitch :) I will add it on my list of things to try.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 29/02/2012 13:54

Received wool today, many thanks to a donor in Enfield from a crafter in Hampshire.

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 29/02/2012 14:13

First square done! I am so proud of myself, although I am a bit nervous of what knotty and the other more experienced ones will think of it. Blush

Trying to upload pic on profile now.

hi nickel - were you nickelbabe and now you have had a baby? Grin Congratulations if it is you!

I decided to do plain old knit stitch, because it reminded me of waves and I know that the family mentioned waves and beach etc. Blush

I've finished a square! Grin
Crochet might be quicker than knitting but I am rather slow at both!

Any ideas how to put the picture from my iPhone to my profile? I'm quite pleased with it! Blush

RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/02/2012 14:56

Fabulous work again by our lovely donors!

More woolly wool has arrived safely with crafters. Thank you for your generosity..

A donor and her crafter are like any famous double act, one relies on the other. I'm thinking Wallace and Gromit, Ant & Dec, Tom & Jerry, Elephant and Castle and that man with the big green duck. Grin

A huge thank you to:

RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/02/2012 15:46

Jax - I still can't see it Sad

My daughter has managed one purple stripe on my square for Wubbly so I proudly add her to the 'list' of mother & daughter teams taking part. She isn't the most patient individual so this was quite an achievement. And I had to teach her. Shock That was a challenge for me the novice Grin Blind leading the blind!

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 29/02/2012 16:00

ok now sorted I think. jeez what a palava.

well done to pistey and daughter. That is fab... I might get DD to help on my next square, although she is only learning to knit.

KnottyLocks · 29/02/2012 16:05

Um, Jax....
