We have heard the very sad news that our own lovely WubblyBubbly passed away very peacefully this week, after two years living with breast cancer. MrWubbly let us know on this thread, where many have expressed their condolences and shared their memories of Wubbly.

We have offered to make a blanket for MrWubbly and their son, Lawrie. MrWubbly has said that both he and Lawrie would love this and they are very touched by the idea. We hope that it may bring whatever comfort it can to them both.

So, we need knitters, crocheters and donors. If you would like to donate wool, then we can match you up with a crafter.

RatherBeOnThePiste will coordinate and match crafters and donors, and deal with the admin side. I'll try to answer any queries you may have and will put together the blanket.

If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM Pistey with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc, and she will match you up.
If you are offering to donate, we would be grateful if you would let us know if you'd like to donate 1 or 2 balls of wool. They cost roughly £5 per ball.

Crafters, if you need wool please let Pistey know if you'd like 1 or 2 balls of wool.
One ball should make at least 2 x 6" squares.

Captain Barnacles is on my profile. He's 7" from the top of his hat to the tip of his toes, so a fair bit bigger than Peso, but then I was watching octonauts earlier (with the kids, I'm not that sad), and he is a bit bigger than Peso in the cartoon, so it shouldn't be a major issue.

Cpt. Barnacles is awesome! I Google and reckon the scales about right too, 7" and 4.5". Hopefully Kwazii will turn out about 6"?

knotty, I've measured again - they range from 5.5 - 6.5.... and are stretchy enough to be pulled to 6 :)

two of my squares are curling at the corners... will that be a problem?

It won't be a problem Lewis because the process of hooking together sorts all things out. It really does I don't know how, but it does!

Weirdly tho I have decided to crochet them. I've only been crocheting for 6 months but my hook was flying! it seems way quicker than knitting! :)

Have replied to all PMs from this evening, heartfelt thanks to everyone, what an overwhelming amount of support for the blanket projects.

Thanks to the speed and generosity of our fabulous donors, lots of wool is already with crafters, and lots will be arriving this week.We already have wool lined up to hook the blanket together with. Marvellous. The donors have done so well. We genuinely couldn't do this without them

I had problems with PMs not getting through last night, I know of three who tried now. I don't know if it was because as someone suggested my inbox was full In case it was, I have cleared loads out and received 6 last night seemingly OK. So hopefully it's all happy now. We are trying to get MNHQ to sort out the PM system - tis too creaky, but it is not a quick job I'm sure.

BUT... If for any reason you can't get through though, post on here and I will find it.

Captain barnacles is great!

This pregnancy lark is odd, I never normally remember my dreams but recently I've been getting the bizarre vivid dreams thing. Apparently the size of my square was playing on my mind because in last nights dream I was very proud of finishing my square, held it up to look at it and the 6 inches of casting on at the bottom had morphed into half a jumper complete with sleeves and neckline by the top :o
