Following on from the blanket for Magic8 which is under construction, we'd like to offer one to Whatevertheweather who has recently lost her baby daughter.

I know there is already an army of knitters and crocheters and donors out there; would anyone be able to join us?

Fingers crossed they say yes at some point then because we need a LOT of them for these lovely crafters on here!

Georgi - PMd you back - email sent, hope you get the wool by Tuesday :(

I seem to have this moment on every blanket thread at some point. Here's this one:

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

There's Bermuda triangle somewhere in this thread that seems to be squirrelling wool away.

Anyone else not had wool that asked for wool?
If you have already PMed me, I'm on the case.

As you were.

KnottyLocks · 10/09/2011 15:08

Er, please don't feel that you can't PM me after that Grin

purpleknittingmum · 10/09/2011 16:01

Knotty, do you want us to block the squares? I have made a start on one this morning, but not managed to get back to it since [farting about on computer and trying to do housework emoticon] but will try to finish that one and start another. In-laws over tomorrow so not much chance then but will see if I can squeeze a bit in!

KnottyLocks · 10/09/2011 16:59

PKM, blocked/ not blocked, either way is fine.

crazynanna · 10/09/2011 17:01

Anything I can do to help Knotty? Smile
Do you need anymore money?

TinyPawz · 10/09/2011 17:28

Finished knitting the squares, will try to tidy up the "pesky ends" tonight/tomorrow. Either way, they'll be in the post tomorrow.

YougreatPamplemousse · 10/09/2011 19:16

Knotty if you have more knitters but not enough wool let me know and I will order more from Lydia :)

KnottyLocks · 10/09/2011 19:23

Nanna, I always need more money Grin

Seriously though, I think we'll wait for all wool to arrive then I'll have a clearer idea. Thanks to you and Pamplemousse for your offers. I'll make a note and shout if I need you. Smile

trumpton · 10/09/2011 20:53

3 pink squares done and being blocked for Whatever.
Waiting for the next ball of wool to arrive . I ordered it and in haze of toothache forgot to pay for it ....wondered why it hadn't arrived. Ah well, will get knitting again on Monday.

purpleknittingmum · 10/09/2011 21:20

arrrgghh! Cast off a square and spotted a mistake! Got to redo about 12 rows...so annoyed!

DutchOma · 11/09/2011 08:46

I feel your pain PKM. I graphed an angel myself and tried to knit it up. Had made many mistakes, not least the fact that she was not centred on the square.
So I frogged the lot (ripit, ribbit) and have now finished the angel if not the whole square.
My gift is most certainly more for knitting than for drawing. Hmm

GrownUpNow · 11/09/2011 09:54

I have two squares knitted and one ball of wool left, so you should be getting post from me in the next few days.

SE13Mummy · 11/09/2011 14:19

My knitter should have received her wool in the past day or two... so sorry it's late (the company I ordered it from sent it to me instead of you). It's teal, mauve and a bluey colour.

purpleknittingmum · 11/09/2011 16:18

I have managed one square today and hope to do another one. Don't think I will get any more out of the bits left

KnottyLocks · 12/09/2011 13:54

Alibubbles and Rubycon, I've got your squares. They are all gorgeous!

TinyWeeTeethGreatBigBite · 12/09/2011 17:07

Knotty do you know if my other match got her wool delivered? I haven't heard anything yet and haven't been able to check my emails to see if the company I ordered from have sent anything toe.

KnottyLocks · 12/09/2011 17:17

If they sent a toe, we're in trouble.Mind you, probably so are they.

TinyWee, I go to check!

purpleknittingmum · 12/09/2011 18:38

Mine are now all done, ends sewn in! Had to make one two coloured as there wasn't enough of one colour, I think it looks good! Will try and block later!

purplepidjin · 12/09/2011 18:55

Multicoloured squares are ace! I use them to top up where I don't have enough of a colour for a whole row Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/09/2011 19:32

I want to learn how to do stripes!! But the phrase trying to run before you can walk springs to mind....

I also want to learn crochet because everything looks so luvv-ver-ly Grin

purplepidjin · 12/09/2011 19:42

When you get to the end of a row, tie the end of a different coloured ball of wool right next to your knitting colour. Cut the old colour off with a 6" tail and pick up the new one on your next stitch

Crochet requires coffee and cake Grin

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/09/2011 19:59

Definitely coffee and cake....

Cutting the wool in the middle sounds like something I'm bound to cock up Grin

CoffeeandChocolateplease · 12/09/2011 20:07

Knotty, posted mine off to you today so hopefully will be with you tomorrow. Thanks to my donor, whoever you might be!
