Following on from the blanket for Magic8 which is under construction, we'd like to offer one to Whatevertheweather who has recently lost her baby daughter.

I know there is already an army of knitters and crocheters and donors out there; would anyone be able to join us?

ooops, sorry, that should be Pamplemousse Blush.

It's early.

KnottyLocks · 03/09/2011 07:27

Lydia

Please don't worry about the colours. They sound lovely and we like variety Smile

YougreatPamplemousse · 03/09/2011 09:25

Knotty I meant a knitter - it you leave me to knit it will look like a macrame owl!!

SoupDragon · 03/09/2011 09:40

I am crocheting bear squares, aiming at one per blanket... Please remind me how many blankets we are doing?!

KnottyLocks · 03/09/2011 09:55

Soupy, currently we are working on blankets for:

Magic8 - being organised on another thread

And on this thread:

Whatevertheweather

CheeseandGerkins

Pamplemoose, a macrame owl would be a lovely addition Grin
No worries, I've stuck you on the donor list. I'm waiting on a couple of addresses from some knitters now.

SoupDragon · 03/09/2011 10:11

Thanks.

Is it just one blanket for each of Cheese and Weather?

Magic8 I have done and sent off.

SoupDragon · 03/09/2011 10:13

This time round the bears are a fawn colour and the outside a rather nice purple from the Rowan version.

I also thought I'd ordered a ball of cream Debbie Bliss but it has turned out to be too yellow!

purpleknittingmum · 03/09/2011 10:14

I am really getting confused at to what blankets we have done etc! I think I have done all of them, I think I have sent of in total for 5 so far, and thought Whatevertheweather was number 6, is Cheeseandgerkins number 7 then?

Georgimama · 03/09/2011 10:18

Yes. As we are working on both at the same time we just didn't start a third thread, but we are doing 3 blankets for magic8's daughters and one each for WTW and cheese.

purpleknittingmum · 03/09/2011 10:21

OK thanks! It was a bit more confusing as I think after number 4 was done I got a random ball of wool sent to me, checked if we were doing any, none needed at the time, so kept it, and used it for Whatevertheweather. Mind you, doesn't take much to confuse me! :o

Mouseface · 03/09/2011 11:41

Morning ladies.

LadyW - I thank you Grin

Can I just say that I think these blankets are such a lovely idea. Long may the 'kindness of strangers' continue. xx

puddleofpiddle · 03/09/2011 12:53

I'd like to sign up again if you need and more squares, just finished a couple for magic8's blanket. Is it possible to be matched with a wool donor this time as I'm nearly out of yarn!

HotSummerNights · 03/09/2011 12:55

Purpleknitting mum I will send you two balls am going to pm Lydia now.

CoffeeandChocolateplease · 03/09/2011 13:09

Pistey was it me you posted to? My yarn has just arrived, a cream and lilac ball, lovely colours. I'll crack on once dd has decided to nap. Thank you!

Whatever and Cheese, my heart goes out to you both. Your pictures are beautiful.

DutchOma · 03/09/2011 13:17

I've just received two balls that I ordered myself from Lydia, she is really on the ball Grin. Better start knitting before the two balls from a donor arrive, or as Knotty says, I will be buried under a yarn mountain.

KnottyLocks · 03/09/2011 14:04

Blankets made this year so far:

Edgar ( who also had a quilt)
Rindercilla
BlondesHaveMoreFun
Blanket 4, made from surplus squares from the others. We're hoping to use this to raise money for Winston's Wish charity. I'm still working on the details.

Working on: Magic8 (which is actually 3 blankets)

And these two.

Mouseface · 03/09/2011 16:54

You are a Star, a really shiny selfless Star. Smile

You all are.

I've PM Lydia with my order. Smile

purpleknittingmum · 03/09/2011 16:57

Thanks Knotty! I forgot about the Winstons Wish one

Ooo thanks HotSummerNights! I shall look forward to them, think I will do a 2 colour granny square and then not sure!

KnottyLocks · 03/09/2011 17:21

Mouseface, calm down! Grin. It's a team effort!

TinyWeeTeethGreatBigBite · 03/09/2011 17:26

Oh I'm wondering now how old knotty is ... and if we were separated at birth ...

KnottyLocks · 03/09/2011 17:29

OK quick reminder:

If you have the skills (and worry not if you haven't - I certainly don't),
we're looking for initial squares for Cheese's blanket - C, M, E, S,

and initials for Whatevertheweather's blanket are K and E.

I know at least one of you is on the case.

Thanks.

KnottyLocks · 03/09/2011 17:30

TinyWee, mentally I'm very very young.

Wink
DutchOma · 03/09/2011 17:46

Yes, have done one E and am half way through the second.

Georgimama · 03/09/2011 18:37

I will try and find some charts with initials. Am waiting for my wool to arrive in post - are we anywhere near a final posting date?

KnottyLocks · 03/09/2011 19:08

Georgi, I'm just sorting that at the moment: probably be 10-14 days time.

I'll confirm the exact date tomorrow.

As Pidj is going to be busy with Magic's blanket, it'll be me doing this one.
