I've just heard the sad news about Magic8ballhasstheanswers leaving 6mo twins and a 4yo Sad

If anybody would like to show their condolences, post here and we'll organise it. I'll take on construction again unless someone else would like a turn?

IvySedai (who messaged me to let me know) is happy to co-ordinate so PM's from Donors and Crafters needing a match to her please.

Previous squares were 6", knitted or crocheted. Blues, pinks and purples were the most popular colours. Debbie Bliss Cashmerino or Rowan Cashsoft DK (links are just the first ones I found on google) It's also available in John Lewis.

Lastly, was there anything in particular that Magic liked and could be incorporated in the design?

Ivy have PM'ed you.

Gay40 · 18/08/2011 21:57

Oh I can't knit at all but I'd love to be able to donate somehow. I'll send wool if I can do it online. Will pm ivy

purplepidjin · 18/08/2011 22:01

Gay40 yes you can, just make sure you have the address of a crafter then put it in the "Delivery Address" bit

Can anyone confirm that actually works? Blush

PP - that will work. I've done it.

I PM'd Ivy about 10 minutes ago as a crafter. I am another novice knitter, as I only started in April, but I would feel honoured to contribute to this blanket.

It is us that should feel honoured PP, to be part of a community that has people like you and Ivy in it, prepared to go to the trouble of doing this for - for most of us - an Internet friend/acquaintance.

Knitter's love to all, and may your squares grow quickly and without dropping too many stitches. Wink

TimeForCake · 18/08/2011 22:13

I have ordered things from amazon and had them sent somewhere else, so it should work purplepidjin. I have ordered my wool through lydiathetattooedlady and she sounds well organised. She is sending mine on to a more crafty MNetter. So that method definitely works!

Good luck all, such a worthy cause and one day the blanket will hopefully bring great comfort to the 'magic's'. As with Edgar, I hadn't come magic's posts before, but I haven't been able to get her/her family out of my thoughts all day. So sad Sad.

Bohica · 18/08/2011 22:14

I'm maring my place & although I haven't knitted before I am seeing my Nanny soon so I'm sure that beteen us e could make a square.

I'll PM Ivy.

Sad

I'm in Essex if that helps with passing the finished quilt around.

TimeForCake · 18/08/2011 22:16

*come across magic's posts.

lisad123 · 18/08/2011 22:17

mnistooaddictive · 18/08/2011 22:25

I have a square I knitted last time but never sent as by the time u finished it, there were already too many!
I will send it ASAP. Is it the same address as before?

purplepidjin · 18/08/2011 22:32

Ah yes, the wonderful Lydia - that's probably the best way to ensure it goes to the right place!

Meow, I think over 400 people have contributed in some way to an MN blanket so far this year Smile and Sad

Bohica, that sounds perfect - let Ivy know if you need wool sent

Lisa, PM IvySedai and she'll find you a crafter to send it to

Bogeyface · 18/08/2011 23:09

Would it be possible for the donors to PM their crafters?

I know I have been matched but I dont know who with and I would like to send my donor pictures of our squares so they know what we have created between us.

Thanks

pidj do you still need a square or two? I can do some more in the same sort of granny square style I did for the others as they are pretty quick (have NC in the mean time - I sent you 2 balls of yarn last time)

Are we sending the squares to your address again?

Ivy, I have PM'd you about being a donor

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 19/08/2011 00:23

I have three or four squares already done (I'd done them for a previous blanket, but didn't get them posted in time). I still have the envelope you sent me the first time, Purple (I needed a bigger envelope so used one of mine) so shall I just post them straight off to you?

So sorry to hear about Magic - and my heart goes out to her family. Sad
