I've just heard the sad news about Magic8ballhasstheanswers leaving 6mo twins and a 4yo Sad

If anybody would like to show their condolences, post here and we'll organise it. I'll take on construction again unless someone else would like a turn?

IvySedai (who messaged me to let me know) is happy to co-ordinate so PM's from Donors and Crafters needing a match to her please.

Previous squares were 6", knitted or crocheted. Blues, pinks and purples were the most popular colours. Debbie Bliss Cashmerino or Rowan Cashsoft DK (links are just the first ones I found on google) It's also available in John Lewis.

Lastly, was there anything in particular that Magic liked and could be incorporated in the design?

Hello ladies :)
I've had a couple of busy family days over the bh weekend but back to knitting my second square now. I am persevering with the purling and trying a ribbed pattern. Not glamorous but challenging enough for me!

Calrabbit I'm so glad you got my wool your squares are so beautiful.

Anyway, just checking in really, hope you're all well.

lia66 · 30/08/2011 22:24

bear thas a lovely square

calrabbit · 30/08/2011 22:30

skinnymuffin your square looks lovely keep on with the knitting, I will look forward to seeing the next square on your profile. My squares are parcelled up and on their way. The lady in the post office did give me a strange look when she saw that I was sending a parcel to someone called 'purplepidjin'.

purplepidjin · 31/08/2011 07:06

Can I point everyone in this direction please? Sad

So so sad pidjin Will definately help out. Why does this shit happen to good people. :(

Lorelai · 31/08/2011 09:31

I've just noticed on the other thread that we are supposed to be using 4mm needles, and for some inexplicable reason I used 4 1/2 when I started last night. How much difference will it make? I've only done 6 or so rows so can start again if need be [idiot]

KnottyLocks · 31/08/2011 09:41

Shouldn't make too much difference: I'd keep going.
It's the final size that's the more important number Smile

lydiathetattooedlady · 31/08/2011 10:36

Have just replied to the other thread, so sad Sad

KnottyLocks · 31/08/2011 10:43

pidjin I'm hoping to get my squares in the post first class tomorrow. Just starting number 5, not sure if I'll get a 6th out of my two balls....but we shall see.

Littlefish · 01/09/2011 09:48

I've been sent 2 balls for Magic 8s blanket, so I'll just keep knitting and see how many squares I can get out of them, so some could be used for magic8, and the rest for whatevertheweather or any other future blankets. I'll send them all when the wool is finished. I'm half way through my 2nd square.

Morning everyone. Just a question for the lovely Lydia about the next blankets for Wtw and Cheese. Am posting here as the new blanket thread is in the middle of condolences and very sad but lovely things and it didn't quite seem right to plonk a woolly question in the middle of that.
So, I would like to buy my wool again through you Lydia, can I just check you are offering your lovely services again? I know you mentioned seeing your rep but I may have missed the next bit. Can you let me know (and others hopefully) what colours you have and then I'll pm you. Seems really nice to have the wool from a MNetter and hopefully support your business a bit too. Obviously :( that we need to.

KnottyLocks · 01/09/2011 10:55

Cakey,

Lydia is indeed offering her services. The wool is at a discount but she needs to charge P&P this time. I'll find her post and paste it here.

KnottyLocks · 01/09/2011 10:58

LydiaTheTattooedLady's post:

Ive just had my rep in, ive ordered some more yarn which should be here friday/monday. If anyone does want any let me know, same as last time £3 a ball. Unfortunately i will have to charge postage which is £1.58 for one ball, £1.96 for 2/3 balls. Ive gotta do nursery run so i'll try and post links to the colours ive ordered later x x

Cakey, Lydia was talking about ordering some pink, blue and cream wool. The blanket palette is all of these colours plus purples, greens and silvers. Any of these would be great.

TimeForCake · 01/09/2011 11:07

Fab, thanks knotty. Will get on to that later.
Thanks for matching us all up too! :) [stars].
