I've just heard the sad news about Magic8ballhasstheanswers leaving 6mo twins and a 4yo Sad

If anybody would like to show their condolences, post here and we'll organise it. I'll take on construction again unless someone else would like a turn?

IvySedai (who messaged me to let me know) is happy to co-ordinate so PM's from Donors and Crafters needing a match to her please.

Previous squares were 6", knitted or crocheted. Blues, pinks and purples were the most popular colours. Debbie Bliss Cashmerino or Rowan Cashsoft DK (links are just the first ones I found on google) It's also available in John Lewis.

Lastly, was there anything in particular that Magic liked and could be incorporated in the design?

Pidj... I've finished my squares and just have the ends to darn in now. I ended up with enough of the two colours to start a granny square but only managed four rounds. Do you want me to include it just in case you have some spare yarn and need an extra square?

Also need a PM with an address.

Narketta · 26/08/2011 21:12

I've only done one square so far, I was going to do another today but ended up tipping the house upside down looking for DH's passport instead.

I'll hopefully get the rest done tomorrow:)

purplepidjin · 26/08/2011 21:16

Yes please, angel Star

Will shout at politely ask Ivy to send a message out when her computer has finished formatting...

Right, have perfected them sort of and have done seven so far. Still got some woollywool left so will keep going and enlist a teenager to help me put pics on somewhere tomorrow so you can see them. It's a lovely pattern from Attic24, I hope I've done it justice as I'm not very good.

100years · 27/08/2011 04:23

Just looked at that pattern Bear and it looks lovely, I've bookmarked it for future reference :)

KnottyLocks · 27/08/2011 11:20

Oh I love the Attic24 blog: one of my favourites.

NessaRose · 27/08/2011 12:25

I have found my needles, dd had hidden them in her toy box! so I can finish the last square now.

DutchOma · 27/08/2011 13:31

But of course Nessa. Wasn't that the first place you looked? Hmm

SongBirdsKeepSinging · 27/08/2011 13:35

My postman walked straight past our house so no wool for me today :(

SongBirdsKeepSinging · 27/08/2011 13:44

My wool is here!! My next door neighbour just brought it round, postie has left it there this morning by mistake! Hooray! I can get knitting now!

Will inbox Pinot to let her know

SoupDragon · 27/08/2011 13:54

Good news: I think i have just enough raspberry wool to do the third bear square, although it may have a White DC edge on it (it's that close!)

Bad News: The postie didn't bring my "accidental" wool purchase. Still, it means I won't get distracted from Magic's blanket!

PinotsWolefCubs · 27/08/2011 14:06

Hooray!! I'm so glad Songbird. They sent an extra ball as I mentioned it was for an amazing cause.

purplepidjin · 27/08/2011 14:07

Yay, lots of good news!! Grin

This is the completed raffle blanket although it still needs the ends sewn in...

AND I've finished 3 of my 4 comissioned pairs of trousers. Work will start on the fourth on Tuesday (my next day off) so unless I get any more paid work fingers crossed I can concentrate on teddies and Magic's blanket Grin

How wonderful it looks, Pidjin. Absolutely amazing, well done [double star on toast] [and brownie points as well]

KnottyLocks · 27/08/2011 14:31

My wool is here too!

Thumbwitch · 27/08/2011 14:33

That's so pretty, pidjin! although i have missed the info re. the raffle blanket - wassat then?

purplepidjin · 27/08/2011 15:10

That's cos it's still hush hush, thumbwitch!!

The Raffle Blanket is all the leftover squares from Edgar, Rinders and Blondes's blankets. The plan is to sell tickets to raise money for Winston's Wish. We've deferred it until mid-September because we want to catch the "dead-news" spell between back-to-school and Christmas on MN and make maximum impact Wink

It's also why I think it'd be nice to have a meet up at/near in the pub round the corner from MNTowers so we can exchange squares, teach the prefects Mods how to knit/crochet and take some really good pics Smile

Aha! Thank you for enlightening me, what an excellent idea :)

SongBirdsKeepSinging · 27/08/2011 15:47

Pinot has requested I post the extra ball donated by cafe knit to pidj with my squares to be used for edging/sewing up.

If cafe knit are watching then a massive thank you for also donating to this blanket! Star

TimeForCake · 27/08/2011 16:36

Nothing like sailing close to the wind Soup! Hope you make it with enough wool- those bears are so lovely. I definitely got the easy part of our squares! Wink

calrabbit · 27/08/2011 17:02

I have completed 2 squares which are now posted on my profile - one with a single heart and the other with four hearts. Does any more expert knitter know if I will get another square out of the wool I have left over ? Kitchen scales suggest that I have about 19g left (seems a bit high tbh..), is there some sort of stitch that uses less wool or maybe that is just a stupid question ? Thank you again skinnymuffin for the lovely wool.

JemimaMuddledUp · 27/08/2011 17:10

I got a 3rd square out of 15g of wool, so you should do.

gapants · 27/08/2011 18:03

Thank you for my patterns lydia and thank you to my donor as my wool must have arrived today as their was a red card on the mat from the postie. Wont get knitting till Tuesday now...but will knot like a fiend when I collect my wool and get it sent off ASAP.

DutchOma · 27/08/2011 20:01

I have got three squares out of both the balls of wool I have finished, and still quite a bit left over. So three squares per ball should be easily do-able.

DutchOma · 27/08/2011 21:02

Put two pictures on my profile of the angel square I made. Going to change the graph a bit forthe next one.
