I've just heard the sad news about Magic8ballhasstheanswers leaving 6mo twins and a 4yo Sad

If anybody would like to show their condolences, post here and we'll organise it. I'll take on construction again unless someone else would like a turn?

IvySedai (who messaged me to let me know) is happy to co-ordinate so PM's from Donors and Crafters needing a match to her please.

Previous squares were 6", knitted or crocheted. Blues, pinks and purples were the most popular colours. Debbie Bliss Cashmerino or Rowan Cashsoft DK (links are just the first ones I found on google) It's also available in John Lewis.

Lastly, was there anything in particular that Magic liked and could be incorporated in the design?

Sounds wonderful, Georgi! Can't wait to see the pic :)

I'm probably even more of an oddbod then - I actually prefer purl to knit! Blush

Georgimama · 26/08/2011 08:14

Right, must stop knitting and MNing and wash/dress/detach feral children from television.

JemimaMuddledUp · 26/08/2011 08:25

3 squares knitted, blocked and packed up ready to post this morning.

Pictures on my profile.

There was only about 50cm of wool left so I haven't bothered putting it in as it wouldn't go very far!

They are lovely Jemima, and so are the footprints Ivy. What talented people!

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 26/08/2011 09:20

:( galaxy did I tell you who your donor was? I am in the middle of formatting my laptop and can't get to my spreadsheet at the moment I'm afraid. do you know where your wool is coming from? there seems to have been a bit of delay from a couple of sites - laughing hens and cucumberpatch as far as I know... their posties seem to be a bit crap at the moment.

If you have any spreadsheet related questions, I am afraid I won't be able to answer them until tonight when I get my external harddrive with the computer backup back. Sorry

Littlefish · 26/08/2011 10:30

Hi Ivy - I'm still waiting for my wool too. Sorry to hassle you. Smile

I don't know where my wool is coming from.

Meow75 · 26/08/2011 10:40

I think my wool paid for by PinkCupcakeFairy might be waiting for me at the local sorting office. Red card on the doormat when I get home yesterday. It was left about 40 minutes after I went out!!

Off to get it now, in the rain. Brew and knitting later. Yaay!!!

purplepidjin · 26/08/2011 11:32

Right finally spoken to cafeknit who say it was despatched Monday - if not received by tomorrow I have to contact again for another one.

KnottyLocks · 26/08/2011 12:18

Pidj, with all the woolly delays, you may have to consider a later last posting date.

[BigFatWoollyStars] to all the beautiful squares.
I'm inspired but have run out of wool. Gah!

Postie not been yet.

KnottyLocks · 26/08/2011 12:19

Pidj, I think Pistey has got two balls for the edge of the new blanket/s. We're trying to work out if it's on its way to her or me.

KnottyLocks · 26/08/2011 12:20

Um, balls of wool, that is Grin

BearGryllsBra · 26/08/2011 12:21

Knotty I must have missed it somewhere, what is the last posting date please, and who shall I send them to? Apologies if I've missed the obvious.

KnottyLocks · 26/08/2011 12:37

I think Pidj originally said last posting was Friday 9th Sept. She'll be back to confirm one way or the other. Smile

I'll PM you the address.

purplepidjin · 26/08/2011 12:44

9/9/11 is last posting please

Are we going to march on mntowers with starry banners/raffle launching plans? If so shall we make it the following monday and anyone who wants to can drop them off in person?

KnottyLocks · 26/08/2011 12:47

PMed you, Bear.

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 26/08/2011 13:02

purple I would have liked my squares distributed across the blankets - shall I send them to you or are you going to bring the lot when we meet for handover cake pigging?

BearGryllsBra · 26/08/2011 13:07

Thanks Knotty and Purple - should easily have them done by then. Hope everyone's wool turns up quickly - my Cucumberpatch was the next day, maybe it's the RM.

purplepidjin · 26/08/2011 13:17

Ivy, we'll meet up the following week to distribute if you like sigh of relief at not having to make a decision

Is haskins/hobbycraft at wimbourne a good place (all local enough welcome)

Will let you know if it arrives tomorrow Pinot, sat post is normally around lunchtime here.

purplepidjin · 26/08/2011 13:45

ivy and lydia

This is the edging pattern I'm using. 'Tis mine own so you might want to test it if you're going to use it Grin

Dc along edge of square

When you get to the last st or corner, ch3 dc in 1st of next sq

Sl st in previous dc

In the hole, htc hxtc 2xtc 2htc picot 2htc 2xtc hxtc htc

Dc along

Does that make any sense outside my own head? It should make a little heart?

Well I've managed to actually make another square this morning! And I have made 3 butterflies. Pics are all on my profile. They are all ready to send off now.

Although I don't know what 'block' is so I haven't blocked mine.

purplepidjin · 26/08/2011 14:00

It means dampening your square, pinning it to exactly 6" and gently ironing it through a teatowel what a lot of faff

I don't bother!
