I've just heard the sad news about Magic8ballhasstheanswers leaving 6mo twins and a 4yo Sad

If anybody would like to show their condolences, post here and we'll organise it. I'll take on construction again unless someone else would like a turn?

IvySedai (who messaged me to let me know) is happy to co-ordinate so PM's from Donors and Crafters needing a match to her please.

Previous squares were 6", knitted or crocheted. Blues, pinks and purples were the most popular colours. Debbie Bliss Cashmerino or Rowan Cashsoft DK (links are just the first ones I found on google) It's also available in John Lewis.

Lastly, was there anything in particular that Magic liked and could be incorporated in the design?

Am fairly certain its been figured out, but by all means let my knitter know who I am, if only so i can check the wool has arrived or get onto royal mail or laughing hen if needs be.

Is there a deadline for the completion of the squares?

purplepidjin · 24/08/2011 08:28

Would my donor be able to get my yarn to me before the bank holiday? I'm away and will have more time to sit-around-on-my-arse-and knit Smile

I have already contacted you Ivy to update your spreadsheet and also my donor to pass on my thanks. I'm just finishing a cardi for my neice and will get cracking on my squares, hopefully tomorrow.

I'm using an iPod as ironically I asked DH to Mcafee me off MN on my laptop so I could get all my knitting projects finished. So I'm keeping up to date with the thread but not posting much.

drcrab · 24/08/2011 10:06

LawrieMarlow hello! :) I'm looking forrward to seeing our 'co-creation'. Thank you so much for doing this xx

SoupDragon · 24/08/2011 10:08

I do think the way people who can and can't knit/crochet have been paired up is inspired. I've never been able to crochet for previous blankets and was too disorganised to sew the fabric square I promised and this way everyone gets to help who wants to. It must have been an organisational nightmare though :)

LawrieMarlow · 24/08/2011 10:20

Will do my best dr crab :)

I would love some wool please, as I do not have enough left for any squares, all my Debbie Bliss is the wrong sort, it is cotton.

Please could I b matched up with a donor, thank you

purplepidjin · 24/08/2011 10:54

Lawrie, those hearts looked spectacular on the previous blankets

Alibubbles, have you PM's Ivy? just in case your post gets "lost" in the morass Star

There was a bit of an attempt at the matching on the other blankets, this time it jsut seemed like a simpler option. Also, there were some horrible accusations when Pixie had to leave MN about money going missing (she never touched it, it was another MNer who had control) but with the matching, all that can be avoided because there's no fund iyswim?

First two squares just arrived, thank you NickelBabe Star

nickelbabe · 24/08/2011 11:19

"squares" i think GrinBlush

I felt sad making them. :(

Gay40 · 24/08/2011 11:19

The matching was a brilliant suggestion. I wish we could do it with other problems on here !!

LadyWellian · 24/08/2011 11:21

Lydia thanks, will do.

If we're doing three blankets, I might have to see if I can squeeze another square out of the wool I have left. Also have to block the ones I've done as I've no idea if they are 6x6 at present.

Soupy sorry to besmirch your bear with allegations of wolefishness Blush

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 24/08/2011 11:24

If anyone has leftovers that can't be made into more squares, we should make a collection of those and either send them to purple for attachment coordination, or to people who would be prepared to use the leftovers to make more squares.
I hope we can put every scrap to its intended purpose.

And I hope you don't mind me suggesting this. :)

off to bother you all with more pms send the crafters the address to post the squares to.

KnottyLocks · 24/08/2011 11:37

Ivy, in the past we've asked that people include leftover wool with their squares so that Pidj can use it to hook the squares together and for the edging. Could you include that in your PMs?
