I've just heard the sad news about Magic8ballhasstheanswers leaving 6mo twins and a 4yo Sad

If anybody would like to show their condolences, post here and we'll organise it. I'll take on construction again unless someone else would like a turn?

IvySedai (who messaged me to let me know) is happy to co-ordinate so PM's from Donors and Crafters needing a match to her please.

Previous squares were 6", knitted or crocheted. Blues, pinks and purples were the most popular colours. Debbie Bliss Cashmerino or Rowan Cashsoft DK (links are just the first ones I found on google) It's also available in John Lewis.

Lastly, was there anything in particular that Magic liked and could be incorporated in the design?

Buppers - it's the wrong one. If you click on the link that DutchOma has on her post, it takes you straight to the right stuff. It's not the baby one. :(

Thumbwitch · 20/08/2011 14:19

here you are - saves you trawling back for it!

Or get it through Lydia - she's doing it cheaper and free postage.

BupcakesandCunting · 20/08/2011 14:22

Oh bollocks. It's a bleedin' minefield, this knitting malarkey. Grin

Nevermind, I'll give my ball to MIL and get her to do me a tea cosy out of it or summat. I'll contact Lydia. Thanks Thumb :)

Hi all, this is so sad that it needs to be done. I knew magic from the ttc/pg after mc threads and would love to take part.

I've pm'd lydia about ordering wool...but am also happy to be matched with a donor and knit a few more squares if it's needed...will pm you ivy

This is really uplifting at such a sad time, to see so many people...and lots of you not even knowing magic...willing to give up their time and money to help with a project like this.

100years · 20/08/2011 14:22

My wool arrived this morning :)

I've made one square so far. Will have a go at a different one later or tomorrow.

purpleknittingmum · 20/08/2011 14:33

I have started the second square out of the ball I was sent a while ago. I hope to get them done today/tomorrow and get them posted at the end of the month

nickelbabe · 20/08/2011 14:35

just a bump for newcomers:
lydiathetattooedlady is selling the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK at £3.00 per ball to MNers.
She'll accept PMs.

:)

nickelbabe · 20/08/2011 14:36

are they still 6" squares pidj?

100years · 20/08/2011 14:46

Yes they are still 6" I know I'm not pidj, but thought I would answer your question.

nickelbabe · 20/08/2011 14:50

thanks! it didn't have to be pidj , just someone who knows, and you do, so you'll do Grin

nickelbabe · 20/08/2011 14:50

yeah, and i've just noticed it does say that in the OP Blush

100years · 20/08/2011 14:54

It's OK, it's nice to get the reassurance that it's right. :)

purplepidjin · 20/08/2011 15:04

We're nearly 300 posts in, who cares about the op?! Grin

Yer lady's wrong, Buppy, they're different weights - go in armed with some facts and they should refund you as it was mis-sold... Otherwise, get MIL to make you a soft and snuggly slouchy hat for the winter Smile

Or, put your business Lydia's way as she's been so generous with her livelihood!

Sad sad news. My sister-in-law is a RL friend of Magic's, she is also a twin mum. If anyone knows funeral details, please could you PM me?

BupcakesandCunting · 20/08/2011 15:05

I will just give it to MIL. She likes a nice wool. Grin

I've PMd Lydia. Hopefully I can buy some from her and I will pay her P&P, wouldn't hear of not paying it.

purplepidjin · 20/08/2011 15:09

LCR, there's a condolence thread as well - you're more than welcome here but might get more relevant information there Sad

Buppy, it's a lovely present Envy

The lovelyLydia, that's how she should be known from now on, is even going to knit my squares for me.

100years · 20/08/2011 15:22

I've put a pic on my profile of the square I have made if anyone wants to see it. Obviously you don't have to. Do people usually upload the pics of squares they have made?

Hulababy · 20/08/2011 15:22

Thanks. Away for weekend so will pm when home.

Thumbwitch · 20/08/2011 15:27

LCR - if you PM Lia66, she says on here that she knew Magic and her family so she might be able to tell you as well.

BupcakesandCunting · 20/08/2011 15:29

Your square is lovely, 100years.

purplepidjin · 20/08/2011 15:35

That's beautiful, 100

The last few have had their own album on my fb page so people can tag themselves. Just look for the MumsNet Blankets folder
