I've just heard the sad news about Magic8ballhasstheanswers leaving 6mo twins and a 4yo Sad

If anybody would like to show their condolences, post here and we'll organise it. I'll take on construction again unless someone else would like a turn?

IvySedai (who messaged me to let me know) is happy to co-ordinate so PM's from Donors and Crafters needing a match to her please.

Previous squares were 6", knitted or crocheted. Blues, pinks and purples were the most popular colours. Debbie Bliss Cashmerino or Rowan Cashsoft DK (links are just the first ones I found on google) It's also available in John Lewis.

Lastly, was there anything in particular that Magic liked and could be incorporated in the design?

I would like to knit a couple of squares. I'll put an order through with Lydia Sad

skinnymuffin · 20/08/2011 15:59

Lydia is sorting me out with two lovely balls of wool, one for me and one for C in Gloucestershire. Should be able to get started next week :)

I just need to see my mum now and get a reminder about how to cast on and off, hopefully the inbetween part I can cope with Blush

Meow75 · 20/08/2011 15:59

I also love your square, 100 years. Beautiful.

I'm still waiting for my wool in the post; I despair at how challenging Royal Mail find it getting to the Eastern Fens sometimes. Sad I'm ITCHING to get started!!

skinnymuffin · 20/08/2011 16:12

Lovely square 100 :)

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 20/08/2011 17:21

sorry if anyone has been waiting for a reply from me, I've been out all day, sitting in the passengerseat of our car, so I've managed to do a couple of squares, but haven't managed to reply to pm's.
will get on it now then catch up with the tread.

SongBirdsKeepSinging · 20/08/2011 20:48

lovely squares 100 and ivy x

purplepidjin · 20/08/2011 21:09

Ooh pretty!!

Last time, I ended up absolutely swamped with generosity. To make a reasonable sixed blanket I need an absolute maximum of 120 squares (6'x5') any more and it's just too big to handle...

I've just read about this - I don't know Magic but this is so sad. I can't knit or crochet (the last time I had to do anything remotely related to this, my grandmother did it for me, and got me an A hahah.). I can donate wool. I will pm lydia and ivy. this is so sad.

100years · 20/08/2011 21:52

Lovely squares Ivy :)

drcrab · 20/08/2011 22:03

Just when I tried to PM, MN went offline. And now I'm bf-ing DS and on my phone. Can ivy and Lydia PM me please so that I can reply? I'd like to donate some wool. If ivy can match me with a knitter I wil send some wool via lydia's shop. Thank you.

muddyangels123nomoreHPforme · 20/08/2011 22:41

I have ordered the wool from Amazon.
I will send it on to my crafter when it arrives.

Mumsnet at it's best!Grin

Annie - this is the wool but you can get it from Lydia if you want, she only has pink and purple left now.

You still won't be able to get the details of any other crafter to send it to unless you have a means of off-board communication though. If I PM you, can you reply? If you reply with your email address I'll send it straight through to Ivy and then delete the message so you're safe.

PisteysInManhatten · 21/08/2011 01:40

Someone in Hampshire is going to get Ballard Blue from me in the next couple of days... thank you for knitting it xx

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 21/08/2011 05:36

Purple, if we get more, and considering the amazing response it is likely, what would you think about splitting them in 3 and making a blanket for each of the girls to remember their mummy by?
I'll be happy to help with the assembly.

purplepidjin · 21/08/2011 06:58

There's another Hampshire bod?

If anyone down here fancies meeting up to work on this, I work shifts and can meet for coffee - there's a lovely department store in Winchester that sells the wool and has a coffee shop and i'm crap and cant' remember the name of it

Three blankets could be cool, but I'll need all the squares before I can start...

Morning!

Pidj, I'm arranging the Blondes blanket and Edgar quilt meet for September time. Maybe we could do a bit of blanket work then?

I'll PM you sometime tomorrow with dates- have family here at the mo.
