Are there any objections if I use the leftover wool from the Edgar and Rindercella blankets to make something for Blondes? I've got loads! Anyone with leftovers feel free to pm me about either sending it on or sending more squares :)

Aw. Lovely pics - you are all so very clever! Thank you for doing this Smile

wizzler · 19/05/2011 22:32

Knotty.. should have some squares in the post to you on monday. Have done 2.5 so far.. will try to crack on over the weekend !

KnottyLocks · 19/05/2011 22:40

Wizzler, you may have a gold star Smile

Btw, it's not me hooking them all together, that's the Top Hooker wot is Pidj.

KnottyLocks · 19/05/2011 22:58

Maybe you should've mentioned the words 'cake' or 'pub' in your Let's Meet Up and Share Leftovers post, Pidj.

Either would get my vote. Both together, even better.

purplepidjin · 20/05/2011 07:04

I thought people would take that as read Confused

Crochet = cake and cake = crochet Hmm

Unless they can't crochet

KnottyLocks · 20/05/2011 07:18

If it makes you feel less rejected, many of our knitters and hookers are far far more than an hour away from you.

the others aren't saying Grin

purplepidjin · 20/05/2011 07:18

In which case

2(Crochet) + (knit/3)^5 = CAKE

Southampton's 45 minutes from me, just trying to broaden my horizons... Will I need my passport to leave the Forest?

OP posts:
KnottyLocks · 20/05/2011 07:21

You intend to leave the forest Shock

purplepidjin · 20/05/2011 07:32

Advice needed, my square is not really 6"sq unless I flatten it out, do I need to start again with more stitches than 33? Not a problem as it didn't take me long and I really enjoyed it!

If so, all is not lost, it makes a nice dolly bedcover! Mindies have just arrived and think it is especially for them and want one each - 3 girls, pink......!

KnottyLocks · 20/05/2011 08:24

One for Pidj, I think. If it looks 6" flat, I'd block it then measure again.

You better get knitting those mini blankets for the girls Smile

alibubbles · 20/05/2011 08:34

Block it? I can knit, that's all!

KnottyLocks · 20/05/2011 09:15

We like that you can knit, don't worry Smile

If it's 6" flat, without stretching it, it will be fine. Are you a 'tense' knitter?

mistlethrush · 20/05/2011 09:36

Still no wool has arrived at the next Sad

purplepidjin · 20/05/2011 09:41

Don't worry, by the time its in with all the rest it won't notice. I've got lots of variations on a theme of both 6" and square and the finished article looks fab!

Mistlethrush, PurpleKnittingMum, MyJobIsMum, I am chasing your wool and will get back to you as soon as I know where the hell it is.

mistlethrush · 20/05/2011 10:25

Thanks Knotty! Sorry to be a pain - you're doing such a great job - pity the supplier isn't.

KnottyLocks · 20/05/2011 10:29

You're not a pain! I'm getting a bit niggly, but not with you Smile

Niecie · 20/05/2011 10:32

alibubbles - in the old days, it used to be called 'pressing' not blocking. Wink

Damp cloth, lightly iron to make the piece lie flat. Don't press too hard (my error usually) and you should be left with a neat square. There are more complicated ways where you pin it out and wash the piece but it sounds like you don't need to go that far.

Knitting has come to standstill here. I fell over on Tuesday and quite badly scrapped my hand. Oh the humilation. I felt about 6 yrs old, particularly as I did it on the way to school with DS2, but not in a good way.Blush

Anyway, normal service should be resumed this weekend. At least until the scab starts coming off that is - bleurgh!!

mistlethrush · 20/05/2011 10:34

Niecie - have been there! Some years ago I tripped over in a car park (the surface was unbelievably rutted - that's my excuse anyway) and was picked up by an old lady Blush The humiliation! Grin (I did have blood dripping down my leg and did actually manage to hit my head it was that catastrophic fall!)

KnottyLocks · 20/05/2011 10:37

Oh bless you, Niecie. Hope your hand is better soon. I've had a few near scrapes myself on DS1's scooter.

Thanks for the info re the squares. Much appreciated.

KnottyLocks · 20/05/2011 10:43
