THINGS JK ROWLING HAS SHAMEFULLY REFUSED TO COMMENT ON

There's been a spate of threads recently about things JK Rowling has shamefully failed to comment on. Wouldn't it be easier to put them all in a single thread?

I'll start.

JK Rowling has shamefully failed to comment on the Manchester City fraud scandal.

I’m certain you’re right. Anyone who calls themselves ‘cis’ is going to believe in gender ideology.

Exactly.

Canadanian · 06/10/2026 18:01

what language would you use to distinguish between a cis woman and a trans woman? I presume the answer you’re going to give me is just ‘I’d just say man’ for trans women, but I don’t imagine that makes conversations about your gender critical views very clear or easy to follow.

I think you answered your question, and I’m puzzled why you think it would make conversations about men not being women less clear than silly gaslighting and obfuscation?

Trans woman, and woman are the obvious respective terms. "Woman" needs no qualifier when describing a biological woman.

Nonsense, I think it makes them very clear.

murasaki · 06/10/2026 18:05

And you know full well, TIM, or trans identified man perfectly well describes these fellows.

There are women. There are transwomen, who are trans identifying men. It's not hard.

BackToLurk · 06/10/2026 18:05

"Woman"
"Transwoman or Trans Identifying Man or Man"

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/10/2026 18:05

I have a variety of ways of making clear that it’s a particular type of man I’m referencing:

men who identify as women
trans identified males

are the neutral ones

Woman
Trans identifying male

I find that keeps things very clear and easy to follow

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/10/2026 18:07

Transsexual is the legal term, so male to female transsexual, can work if the other terms are considered too much

murasaki · 06/10/2026 18:07

There only seems to be one person who finds it confusing. Amd they don't, really.

BackToLurk · 06/10/2026 18:07

The problem with 'transwoman' of course is that no-one seems to be able to tell anyone what it means.

RapidOnsetGenderCritic · 06/10/2026 18:08

Worst of all, she hasn't bothered to react with "Support" flowers to any of the tragic posts on this thread

GreyskySexRealistsky · 06/10/2026 18:09

It has been shown that a lot of people think transwoman is a woman who presents as a man

murasaki · 06/10/2026 18:10

Hence man is clearer. Or man with a prefix if we have to, so TIM.

Obfuscation - it's a feature not a bug

GreyskySexRealistsky · 06/10/2026 18:12

I feel we have moved away from the original purpose of the thread.

I've got toothache. I swear I heard JKR laugh at me.

It is. When all’s said and done, they’re just men, in every sense, unequivocally under the law as confirmed by the SC, so I often am referring to them within the whole of the male sex.

She’ll be tweeting about it now. To annoy you, and thumb her nose at Canadanian.

Woman and man who wants to be a woman

Iheartmysmart · 06/10/2026 18:19

Another one keeping an eye out for derailers.

JK also hasn’t sent any condolences to the inhabitants of my fish tank for the trauma of the poor things having to watch me eat salmon for dinner.

I've got the painters in (not a euphemism, that ship sailed long ago) doing the hallway. I've had to go out and buy some coffee for them because I don't drink it and what I did have was so ancient it had fossilized in the bottom of the jar.

Not a word of sympathy or support from JKR regarding the time and money I've had to spend on this mildly annoying yet essential errand. She clearly DGAF about good trade relations or the state of my vestibule. (Also not a euphemism).

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/10/2026 18:22

It’s been nice on this thread to hear about the day to day minutiae of posters’ lives, actually!

nicepotoftea · 06/10/2026 18:26

Canadanian · 06/10/2026 16:24

I only pointed out this thread was pretty disrespectful in response to a baseless claim that I was being disrespectful / weaponising pain. You don’t just get to say whatever you like without challenge and then act SHOCKED AND APPALLED when someone echoes what you’ve been saying back to you.

All I came here to do was point out the genuine weirdness of someone claiming to be a campaigner for women’s safety and dignity only ever speaking out when she can find an angle that demonises trans people. It’s why people don’t believe the ‘feminism’ bit of ‘gender critical feminism’.

Absolutely! Some might say that you are confusing 'demonising trans people' with 'making sure that women don't lose the rights that they have only had for 50 years', but I say JOIN THE DOTS.

There are many women working in the women's refuge and rape crisis field, but how many of them have tweeted about this Cornell case? If Donald Trump can take the time to comment on a specific case about which he knows absolutely nothing, why can't they?

The question is not 'Do I have something to say that is of value'. It is 'Will my tweet go viral?'

Canadanian · 06/10/2026 17:54

I am neither a cis man or a trans woman or a trans man. I’m a cis woman. That does not stop me believing in other people’s identities. Can you honestly not imagine a world where cis women disagree with you? Because I promise you loads of them do.

Very much so.
