There's been a spate of threads recently about things JK Rowling has shamefully failed to comment on. Wouldn't it be easier to put them all in a single thread?

I'll start.

JK Rowling has shamefully failed to comment on the Manchester City fraud scandal.

but I think this thread has made most of the jokers just look petty and small.

Absolutely.

Particularly all the pictures of small pets.

😂 badoom-tish

Two days ago our rabbit, Chompsky, celebrated his 11th birthday, which is pretty good going for a rabbit. We were expecting a card from JKR, but nothing. I grilled the postman and he very kindly turned the sorting office upside-down to be sure. What sort of monster doesn't celebrate the birthday of such an adorable creature? Though to be fair he just would have eaten the card.

Edited

I bet she didn't send a book for him to eat on his birthday either did she!

that was my thought too, it was about 15 years ago when I saw it

I have seen it twice in Bayeux! And only a tenner.

I find it distressing that people queued online all day to get tickets and then arrived at the Museum only to be turned away

For those who are concerned about getting tickets in the next batch (on sale October 21 for Jan-31 March 2027), you can always see the exact replica in Reading Museum here: https://www.readingmuseum.org.uk/bayeux-tapestry It was recreated in the 19th century by Victorian women.

And there is a magnificent online resource from the Bayeux Museum, where you can look at the Tapestry (less commonly known as the Kentish Embroidery) scene by scene in HD here: https://www.bayeuxmuseum.com/en/the-bayeux-tapestry/discover-the-bayeux-tapestry/explore-online/

Explore the Bayeux Tapestry online - Bayeux Museum

For the first time, you will be able to freely explore the entire Bayeux Tapestry scene by scene with a never seen quality of images !

Petty, small AND unfunny.

Well that's us told, isn't it, wims?

AND WE KNOW WHOSE FAULT THAT IS.

MyrtleLion · 06/10/2026 17:19

I had a job interview today, and did JKR wish me good luck, send a heart emoji and tell me I was going to smash it? Did she fuck.

And then I had a medical appointment, and another meeting and I had some free cake from Costa but NOTHING from JKR.

She just doesn't care.

Mean old JKR.

I love it when blokes just do not get the joke.

Honestly the patriarchy has NO sense of humour.

This!!!!

Men are afraid women will laugh at them. Yeah, because we have no other weapons.

And I think they are really envious of our humour because they just do not get it. MN ought to be a brilliant for them to learn what we find funny and how random internet strangers just immediately bond over ridiculousness. But no, they remain perplexed, the poor little things.

Why do you assume people who don’t agree with you are blokes? I’m a cis woman.

And it’s not a very sophisticated joke - like I get it, but it’s stupid 🤷‍♀️

Thanks Myrtle! After reading others' posts, I was starting to wonder if I'd ever get to see it. I was going to try January, but if even people with tickets are being turned away...

And India Willoughby is a natal female. According to him.

When you campaign for words to mean nothing, they mean nothing.

Meanwhile it’s super sophisticated to imagine it’s a person’s tweets, rather than their actions, that reveal their motivations.

So you’re going to just keep insisting I must be a bloke? Do you think that’s… clever or something?

I mean, I also think JRK actions suggest she cares more about her hatred for trans people than supporting women

I noticed she kept very quiet when I’d left my car window open the other night and woke up to a very wet seat. Heartless.

It’s the height of measured critical thinking, and not at all unhinged to use a woman’s rape to wang on about the plight of men.

I am neither a cis man or a trans woman or a trans man. I’m a cis woman. That does not stop me believing in other people’s identities. Can you honestly not imagine a world where cis women disagree with you? Because I promise you loads of them do.

Is it the funding of Beira’s Place that led you to that conclusion? Or is it the books?

There’s no such thing as a “cis woman”, so I’m completely uninterested. It literally only makes any sense within your fringe ideology.

I’m certain you’re right. Anyone who calls themselves ‘cis’ is going to believe in gender ideology.

what language would you use to distinguish between a cis woman and a trans woman? I presume the answer you’re going to give me is just ‘I’d just say man’ for trans women, but I don’t imagine that makes conversations about your gender critical views very clear or easy to follow.
