THINGS JK ROWLING HAS SHAMEFULLY REFUSED TO COMMENT ON

There's been a spate of threads recently about things JK Rowling has shamefully failed to comment on. Wouldn't it be easier to put them all in a single thread?

I'll start.

JK Rowling has shamefully failed to comment on the Manchester City fraud scandal.

😂😂

Before I get snapped at, that was directed at the small pets post not the one directly above it, the quote bit didn't work.

IChooseWine · 06/10/2026 15:52

I want a Furminator now. My short haired cat barely sheds any hair so might have to get a suitable kitten 🤣.

Well yes, I do find so many people spending half their time on this forum doing twee posts about gerbils and tunnocks teacakes and the other half stirring up hate and fear of a minority group particularly sinister and jarring, to be honest.

I hear ya.

Men are in the minority, and you only have to look at that 'Centre for Women's Justice' thread linked above which is quite clearly demonising the people doing the raping, i.e. men.

If you think the thread has nothing to do with the Cornell case, then I’m afraid you just haven’t been paying attention to the context / following the sequence of events that led to this thread’s existence.

I know it’s not obvious in the title or the OP (for plausible deniability reasons perhaps, as people on this forum often demand ‘show me exactly where I said that though’ evidence for things they’ve heavily implied.

You’re allowed a sense of humour (although nobody has been particularly funny), but I think this thread has made most of the jokers just look petty and small.

The thread is to do with trans activists response to the Cornell case, not the case itself.

At this stage I'm hoping you're being deliberately disingenuous, rather than really can't understand.

To repeat myself.

You have again made a baseless claim - that the women here are being disrespectful to a woman's pain by ridiculing posters who are using a rape case to attempt to score points. To repeat the victim of the abuse is not the object of this thread.

And as others have pointed out, you argue that the fact that she hasn't posted a tweet should make us question her 'motivations', while simultaneously ignoring all the real world activity she engages in, particularly projects that support women and children. Those activities more than confirm her 'motivations'.

Yea but I don't think Harriet Wistrich has tweeted about Cornell, so does she really give a shit about victims.

lifeturnsonadime · 06/10/2026 16:03

Gosh it's a shame this lighthearted thread has been derailed.

And it is also a shame that the cornell victim is being used in this way to attack JKR.

I think it's possible that she doesn't have any presence on social media. Very disappointing.

Don't tell me JKR is forcing you to be here and read all these posts.

What a monster! She's worse than I thought!

Don't worry, it hasn't been derailed (despite some best efforts)

There's plenty more where this came from!

On a serious note: the Cornell case has been weaponised THREE TIMES now on this board to wedge in unrelated issues. And none of those three times were attributable to GC posters.

Canadanian · 06/10/2026 16:24

I only pointed out this thread was pretty disrespectful in response to a baseless claim that I was being disrespectful / weaponising pain. You don’t just get to say whatever you like without challenge and then act SHOCKED AND APPALLED when someone echoes what you’ve been saying back to you.

All I came here to do was point out the genuine weirdness of someone claiming to be a campaigner for women’s safety and dignity only ever speaking out when she can find an angle that demonises trans people. It’s why people don’t believe the ‘feminism’ bit of ‘gender critical feminism’.

GreyskySexRealistsky · 06/10/2026 16:30

Who are these "people" you speak of? I want their names. All of them. Right now!

It's not baseless. You were weaponising the victim to have a go at JKR. We can all see it.

It's so unoriginal.

Yeah, I get that.

It's like those people who call themselves "human rights campaigners" who just focus on, like, access to clean water in Ethiopia. I mean, what about the other humans?! It speaks volumes.

Another on that really gets me is the so-called "animal rights" supporters who obsess about laboratory testing, when pack animals are treated so badly in the developing world. Mention donkeys, and you may get a few minutes thought if you're lucky, but then they're right back to waving their placards about big pharma. It just speaks for itself, really - they don't give a damn about the animals, it's all about the corporations.

Bloody hypocrites.

You weaponised the case when you used it to suggest people should take ‘a moment’s pause as to her actual motivation’ based purely on the fact she hadn’t tweeted. What else would you call that?

Honestly, I tried it on my short haired black sinister and unfunny cat and still got a fair amount. So far they are all loving it.

Tis interesting isn't it?

I'm far more moved by the furminator. Need several of those stat.

PastySausageStew · 06/10/2026 16:45

I'm sure if JKR was here, she'd point out that there's a free to view, no queue, life sized replica of the Bayeux Tapestry in Reading museum. And, even better, it's penis free as all the naked men have been given Victorian pants.

Unfortunately the museum shop has had a run on Pants Man fridge magnets, but for once the Harold arrow in the eye decoration is in stock.

ProfessorRedshoeblueshoe · 06/10/2026 16:57

this reminds me of the I'm Spartacus thread . . .

Are the naked horses wearing pants too?

I've got a Cerne Abbas Giant with pants ...
