THINGS JK ROWLING HAS SHAMEFULLY REFUSED TO COMMENT ON

There's been a spate of threads recently about things JK Rowling has shamefully failed to comment on. Wouldn't it be easier to put them all in a single thread?

I'll start.

JK Rowling has shamefully failed to comment on the Manchester City fraud scandal.

Do we have to wait until 2028 or is it going to be viewable in Normandy from 2027? Honestly, it seems like it might be easier.

I saw it in Bayeux as a teenager on a family holiday. Honestly, it's much nicer than queuing in Central London.

Shedmistress · 06/10/2026 13:26

Halp. I cant stop brushing cats! This is so much fun.

Ill bet JKR just ignores my desperate cries.

Apparently it's at the BM until July 2027. I don't know how soon they would be able to get it back on view in Bayeux. But yes, a holiday in Normandy is starting to look like a good plan.

The place was empty when I saw it 20 years ago. I'm not expecting such a nice experience in London. That's assuming we ever manage to book ...

murasaki · 06/10/2026 13:29

I wouldn't have thought before Easter 2028, tbh, but it'd fit right into a holiday.

She never comments on my gerbil inspired pottery.

I received a gerbil ornament for my birthday last week. Not only did she not wish me Happy Birthday, but she also failed to comment on how cute it is. I mean, Look at It!!!!

Two days ago our rabbit, Chompsky, celebrated his 11th birthday, which is pretty good going for a rabbit. We were expecting a card from JKR, but nothing. I grilled the postman and he very kindly turned the sorting office upside-down to be sure. What sort of monster doesn't celebrate the birthday of such an adorable creature? Though to be fair he just would have eaten the card.

I agree your gender critical beliefs are completely unrelated to matters related to women’s safety and dignity.

HOWEVER, do you think it’s not goal scoring that people have questioned JKR’s response to the Cornell 7 (because that IS the context that has prompted this thread) and you lot have responded with 10 pages of jokes about it? Do you genuinely think you’re being more respectful to someone’s pain? And do you think the person up thread who isn’t sure the woman involved hasn’t just made the whole gang rape up is more respectful to her pain than me?

This thread has nothing to do with the Cornel rape case.

JKR has been criticised for everything she does and anything she doesn't do / say.

We are allowed to have a sense of humour you know.

that was my thought too, it was about 15 years ago when I saw it

To Whom It May Concern:
I assure this is no joke. I had cards from all the usual heads of state and celebrities, the pope, etc., but complete silence from this so-called author. Even Himdia sent an e-card, perhaps trying to curry favour.

Sorry Eresh - but I've really got to stop you there.
Are you trying to say that you were a teenager 15 years ago ?
Because I'm not buying that.

Shedmistress · 06/10/2026 14:37

Not the best action shot as this furry won't stop moving when I am trying to brush him.

But got loads of floof from him, you need two hands, one to catch the floof and one to do the brushing.

No, 15 years ago when I saw the tapestry 😂 I’m not that ancient though!

And, as you suggest, the best way to address this issue is tweets.

Naysayers might suggest that she might be more effective taking practical action more locally, perhaps by working with her friend Julie Bindel (co-founder Justice for Women), but that Bindel has tweeted some rather worrying views on Panettone, so honestly she needs to ditch that relationship.

Always remember, it's the tweets that matter.

Panettone? I’m shocked, really.

FFS "Page Not Found", three times over. We've had to join the queue from scratch. Only another six hours to go.

Is there no end to the crimes of that woman?

We saw it in Bayeux too about 15 years ago - came across the building, thought it would be interesting, went in, paid our money, and had the place pretty much to ourselves! Nothing like the madness in London. The DC were more excited about seeing French police officers outside dealing with a drunk man on the ground surrounded by red wine bottles - you obviously get a better class of drunk in Bayeux compared to the Special Brew kind here in Embruh.

If you think the thread has nothing to do with the Cornell case, then I’m afraid you just haven’t been paying attention to the context / following the sequence of events that led to this thread’s existence.

I know it’s not obvious in the title or the OP (for plausible deniability reasons perhaps, as people on this forum often demand ‘show me exactly where I said that though’ evidence for things they’ve heavily implied.

You’re allowed a sense of humour (although nobody has been particularly funny), but I think this thread has made most of the jokers just look petty and small.

I forgot to buy crisps so had to have rice cakes and marmite to go with my glass of wine last night. Not even a quick 'thoughts and prayers' text from that heartless cow JKR.

What really grates is how much she bangs on about caring about women, but as this thread shows that is complete bullshit.

I'm going to burn all my now grown up kids' HP books if I can be arsed to get them out of the attic, that'll show her!

Rice cakes and marmite?
Thoughts and prayers x

Absolutely.

Well yes, I do find so many people spending half their time on this forum doing twee posts about gerbils and tunnocks teacakes and the other half stirring up hate and fear of a minority group particularly sinister and jarring, to be honest.

Shocking and unacceptable.
