THINGS JK ROWLING HAS SHAMEFULLY REFUSED TO COMMENT ON

There's been a spate of threads recently about things JK Rowling has shamefully failed to comment on. Wouldn't it be easier to put them all in a single thread?

I'll start.

JK Rowling has shamefully failed to comment on the Manchester City fraud scandal.

Panphobic?

😧

Shedmistress · 06/10/2026 11:54

Ive just taken delivery of a Furminator. Ive brushed 3 of my 6 cats and so far, I have a small kitchen composter sized bounty of cat fur. I saw a guy spinning his cat's fur into thread so I guess thats what I will be getting up to this winter. Make them their own fur blankets.

Im guessing JKR will be totally nonchalant about this development.

MagpiePi · 06/10/2026 12:04

I forgot to buy crisps so had to have rice cakes and marmite to go with my glass of wine last night. Not even a quick 'thoughts and prayers' text from that heartless cow JKR.

What really grates is how much she bangs on about caring about women, but as this thread shows that is complete bullshit.

I'm going to burn all my now grown up kids' HP books if I can be arsed to get them out of the attic, that'll show her!

Surely you could weave it into garments for the full cat lady experience?

You have SIX cats?! What kind of vacuum do you have out of interest? I have one cat and my hoover is currently out of commission at a repair shop due to not coping with the amount of fur she sheds and she's a shorthair cat!

I'm upset that JKR doesn't hasn't commented on the lack of good hoovers for cat hair, particularly cats like Crookshanks that Hermione has. Down with this sort of thing...

Pro-pan or anti-pan?

Who isn’t pro-pan? Delicious on its own but it makes excellent bread and butter pudding, particularly if you slice it thinly and make Nutella sandwiches before you cover it in custard, sugar and a sprinkling of nutmeg. Maybe a bit of cinnamon…

It looks like Bindel isn’t 😔

Well, in a double whammy turn up for the books, Sainsbury's had a guerilla style delivery of swedes overnight ( there were none yesterday) and Royal Mail, too ashamed to face me and Madame, made a sneak delivery while I was sourcing the
aforementioned swede. So we have dog food!
Proclamations and celebrations from JKR? Not a single piece of bunting.

We have a not Henry. One of those industrial ones eith a bag. Himself does the hoovering.

They mainly live outside thankfully because 5 of them are semi feral, with it taking absolutely bloody ages to get them to come indoors. But my main indoors one is a short hair but he hoards his underhair and then deposits it on every piece of fabric, mostly on me. So this brush is mainly to deal with him. But 3 of the others get thick winter manes and butts that get matted really fast so I end up combing them out almost every day and cutting it back so I thought id try another new tool to try and manage them.

The Furminator has been a success so far today, 2 followed me up to the pottery shed and sat on my workbench with their butts towards me waiting to be brushed again.

Pic of one furry on my lap now.

Someone recommended https://www.lakeland.co.uk/products/lakeland-lint-remover to me for getting fur off rugs etc & it’s absolutely brilliant. You get an arm workout at the same time.

My cat vanishes the moment she realises I’m preparing to hoover, but she sits & watches when I’m doing this. She hasn’t pounced on it yet but she’s considering it.

Lakeland Lint Remover

Pesky lint, dust and pet hairs can show up absolutely everywhere, but the Lakeland Lint Remover is a super easy tool to quickly get rid of them. These tiny yet

We have a Henry, it's pretty good with cat fur. But I do sweep the hard floors first.

It's all the patriarchy though, as the female cat doesn't shed half as much as the male one, and I have to clear it up.

Where's JKR'S sympathy for me, eh?

Actually I'd like to know why she hasn't commented on one of the most contentious issues of the day ?
Shoes on/shoes off
I think she's too busy knocking back the whisky

More to the point, I haven't heard word one from her about whether or not I should answer the doorbell when it rings! I'm in a complete state of indecision about this, and won't be able to move on with my life until she indicates (probably on Twix) yea or nay!

It's just beyond now. Utterly selfish. Why is she doing this to me??

BirdLandedonmyHead · 06/10/2026 12:32

The General would like to make it known that he disapproves if this thread.
As no one has stated he has the silkiest fur.
Neither has JKR.

I don't do fur! I can't even wear wool. That would drive me up the bloody wall.

I'm happy to crochet the guys and gals some comfy cosy blankies though.

Not a word from her on whether the British Museum should implement a slightly more sensible queueing system for the Bayeux Tapestry.

Her silence, is literally violence.

DH is manfully watching the countdown, currently at 60 member bookings per minute. He has decided it's safe to take DDog out.

The lazy woman needs to intervene. Or we'll have to drag ourselves to Bayeux in 2028.

GreyskySexRealistsky · 06/10/2026 12:52

WHERE IS THE LAUGHING EMOJI?

She doesn't even care that we had it forcibly ripped away from us 😭

In fact, she's been strangely silent on the entire Normal Conquest, itself. Thousands dead, farmland torched, and an entire people subjugated.

Yet silence from JKR.

GreyskySexRealistsky · 06/10/2026 12:58

Sorry @GreenIsMyFavoriteColour I know what you mean, but...

Normal Conquest

Edited

Come now, it resulted in a massive book, so she's totally on board with it. Hence the silence.

AND THAT’S ANOTHER THING.

I’ve been crocheting since Covid & JKR has never praised ANY of my work. Not once.

I don’t know why I bother.

She's probably just jealous she didn't get the Domesday royalties.

Do we have to wait until 2028 or is it going to be viewable in Normandy from 2027? Honestly, it seems like it might be easier.
