From Nick Wallis' Genderblog:

On 6 August 2026, BBC Three Counties local radio station, which covers Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, ran a half hour current affairs chat on the Jonathan Vernon-Smith Show. The midday item was posed as a question: “Do you think it’s right to tell transgender people which toilet to use?”

The first contributor put on air to talk about that question were Robin Moira White, a male barrister who claims to be a woman. Robin advocates for men to be able to use women’s toilets and does so himself. The next guest was Nora Padilla, a full-time policy officer at the campaign group TransActual, which also advocates for men to be able to use women’s toilets. Then we heard from “Michelle” from Watford. Like Robin, Michelle is a man who claims to be a woman and – surprise surprise – advocates for male use of female facilities....
[my bold]

And the story goes on. And gets more and more damning for the BBC. The useless, ridiculously activist, taxpayer-supported BBC... Still.

BBC Gender Apology Row

Now they’re in trouble. Sex Matters. (l-r) Dr Helen Joyce, Maya Forstater and Fiona McAnena I am not a defund the BBC sort, but I can understand the frustrations of those who are. I have spok…

I have noticed a couple of hidden posts tonight that don’t seem to be posts with suspect links in, but rather posts with words that have trigger them being hidden. I wonder if a new list of trigger words has been added to MN’s list?

You’re missing:

Reduced muscle mass and strength
Slowed growth of body and facial hair, and eventual thinning of this hair
Facial fat redistribution

funny that…

as a man in my mid 50s

  • I have reduced muscle mass
  • I have reduced strength
  • I have hair thinning
  • I have facial fat redistribution

oh no - am I becoming a woman?! 😂
(apologies to all the amazing women on here) - I do hope not!!!

life is remarkably simple - you were born male - you will always be male.

you may feel that you have different interests (though that is really a red-herring), but learn to enjoy being your type of man, because it doesn’t matter what you have done, or do now, you can never be a woman, you only get to choose your shape of man…

murasaki · 13/09/2026 22:07

Well if that's the case, it would be good to know what they are. It's unfair to penalise people without knowing the rules....

As a walking thesaurus, I'm up for that.

I have male people in my family with those in your list… AND moobs.

I really don’t think that the group of male people who believe that list of changes makes them somehow female people have really understood the diversity of male people. And that nothing on that list makes them female in any way.

It is rather enlightening though. It is remarkable DARVO gaslighting.

So… here you are @NotTodayTy

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5142027-save-female-sports-evidence-thread?page=1

Perhaps you should start actually reading the evidence about male muscle loss in those male people taking estrogen rather than spreading misinformation.

A male person who consciously chooses to limit his performance and to not train in ways that will build muscle mass is in no way a female person. That you have believed misinformation or some other people’s justification for trying to limit their muscle mass to reach a ‘female’ body profile is another indication you need to widen your reading and discussion material beyond the limits you have so clearly applied.

I am conscious that the Break it Down for me thread is nearly full. I am therefore hoping that this thread can be an archive thread just for the sport...

As I said up thread, my own father also could have claimed much of that list including having no testes. I believe he also took estrogen.

Never made him a female person in anyway though.

We don’t seem to have had an answer as to what was the difference with him and those male people demanding to be treated to the additional privilege of having access to all single sex provisions. Ie the provisions for male people that they reject and the provisions for female people that they demand to access as well.

well, I wasn’t going to go into every detail 😂

I think though that once you have hung your flag on the concept that as a man you can somehow become a woman, you find every way you can to twist all parts of reality to support that position…

It might be one where you can use the word as long as you aren't calling a specific person 'a eu ' even if they are one. Maybe?

Well quite. My uncle, 74, has prostate cancer. He's in Canada, and is having a hormone treatment to shut down the testosterone, apparently it's pretty effective. But will have some side effects. I was joking with him the other day about whether I should call him Joanne rather than Joe (names changed, but similar vibe) which he found hilarious. As he's not silly.

Edited

Could be. I got deleted for calling someone a horrid little man, which I was rather peeved about, as I'd gone out of my way not to say what I really thought but I did address it to them rather than about them, so maybe that's the thing.

BridgetYourFortyDaysAreUp · 13/09/2026 22:50

Well... I see the thread has become the Mansplaining I Am A Man Hear Me Complain and Justify thread now 😁

That's fine, not surprised and don't really care, and I don't think anyone wants 1,000 posts on the bloody BBC! (I certainly wouldn't)

If Nick Wallis posts any updates or any abject apologies from the BBC (don't hold your breath) 🙄I'll be back, Arnie style.

...as you were... 👋

Hes also had to deal with, as it's Canada, with his daughter deciding she's non binary, bringing home a woman who claims to be a man, stating this is a heterosexual relationship. He dealt with this by welcoming the person in, rolling his eyes in private and to us in the UK on facetime, and being glad my cousin hadn't had a mastectomy. So he has no truck with any of it.

'Blending in' means 'stealthing'. At very best, what you are proposing, is by nature mendacious deception.

Blending in? So the idea is that because no one can tell you are actually a man, you are effectively an invisible man in a women's loo or changing room etc. doing whatever you like and able to see and hear things that women prefer to keep private from unknown men - including removing their clothing, is that it?

Sounds like an adolescent boy's wet dream.

Hmmm. A combination of autoimmune disease making me practically bedbound and menopause has had the same effects on me. Especially the reduced muscle mass and strength. Does this mean I am now MORE of a woman than I was ten years ago?
How can I tell? Confused

Oh ok. So according to you women are just men with
boobs
softer skin.
less body hair
Different fat distribution

i can tell you now hormones do not affect muscle mass unless the person taking them does no excercise. If it did, TIM who invade women’s sports would never win.

not one of those things makes someone a woman, unless you consider flat chested women or women with facial hair due to hormone imbalances not women. If you want to be a woman so much, why do you hate them so much? Jealousy?

Do you understand yet how misogynistic it is that any male person can claim to be female using such a list?

If a male person believes that ‘near enough is good enough’, that if they are ‘near enough’ to female then they can claim to be female, that is fucking offensive and truly hateful.

Do you feel morally righteous in telling women what being a woman is, how they should react to things they perceive as threats, what they should and shouldn’t perceive as threats and controlling their words?

Your list of ‘many’ changes of taking exogenous hormones in female levels was effectively non existent despite your declaration. And the one thing that was most noticable - male breast development.

Are you understanding why women are saying ‘you are not a woman in any way’ yet?

Helleofabore · Yesterday 06:41

It was only a few months ago we had a man tell us over and over for months that

woman = a man’s ’near enough is good enough’ effort to modify their male body.

Plus ca change

Helleofabore · Yesterday 06:48

Next we will be told that a cavity sewn into a male person’s groin is a vagina because it is a hole a penis can be put into.

That a man’s decision to have this cavity inserted into his groin is worthy of allowing him access to female single sex provisions because of all that man’s hard work to achieve that result. And again, ‘near enough is good enough’ for such men.

Porn and queer theory have so much to answer for.

My post above was a general post getting back to the OP of the thread.

This is the link to the information I posted. I had pulled out bits so people could read but I guess MN has now got some tightly controlled filters at the moment.

I think that some of what this Pschologist suggests is an accurate description of the thinking behind male people who demand access to female single sex provisions.
