From Nick Wallis' Genderblog:

On 6 August 2026, BBC Three Counties local radio station, which covers Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, ran a half hour current affairs chat on the Jonathan Vernon-Smith Show. The midday item was posed as a question: “Do you think it’s right to tell transgender people which toilet to use?”

The first contributor put on air to talk about that question were Robin Moira White, a male barrister who claims to be a woman. Robin advocates for men to be able to use women’s toilets and does so himself. The next guest was Nora Padilla, a full-time policy officer at the campaign group TransActual, which also advocates for men to be able to use women’s toilets. Then we heard from “Michelle” from Watford. Like Robin, Michelle is a man who claims to be a woman and – surprise surprise – advocates for male use of female facilities....
[my bold]

And the story goes on. And gets more and more damning for the BBC. The useless, ridiculously activist, taxpayer-supported BBC... Still.

BBC Gender Apology Row

Now they’re in trouble. Sex Matters. (l-r) Dr Helen Joyce, Maya Forstater and Fiona McAnena I am not a defund the BBC sort, but I can understand the frustrations of those who are. I have spok…

It's all about tits. It nearly always is with men.

As I’ve explained, I didn’t mean it like that. But who cares about accuracy when you have a great quote, right?

Have you even thought deeply about the things you are posting on this thread on the Feminism board of Mumsnet?

And that bit about accuracy… did you think about it before writing it?

murasaki · 13/09/2026 21:31

I'm thinking that there are a lot of Jims from American Pie, unable to get Nadia, so trying to be her and failing comprehensively.

Yes, I do avoid certain situations. I wouldn’t take part in women’s sports because it doesn’t feel appropriate and I don’t care for sports. I also wouldn’t use a communal changing space where there is nakedness. I don’t swim anymore because I’m anxious about the changing arrangements and it’s easier to avoid it. To be clear, I don’t think there would be an issue in a changing room, but I don’t want to risk making anyone uncomfortable

You risk making women uncomfortable every time you use a women's space.

Well. 'Uncomfortable' is mild. Many women have PTSD from past experiences of male violence and abuse.

You risk retraumatising a woman. Terrifying her.

You happy with that?

And didn't transition until early 20s, so socialised as male from birth and went through male puberty.

But apparently, no one can tell that he is not female.

GailBlancheViola · 13/09/2026 21:32

I'm bored to bloody death with the whole 'play along with this game' bit, I really am. Any patience I had is gone.

Same here WishesandHorses, I am sick to death of the misogyny, sexism, homophobia, selfishness and sheer unadulterated spite shown by trans identifying men such as Ty. No respect or even a modicum of consideration for women just flat out ignoring consent and boundaries of women and then berating women for setting those boundaries and not consenting to their demands.

The fact that they cannot or will not see the type of person this shows them to be says it all.

How is that list coming on?

Ready to educate us with all those other changes that oestrogen hormone in female quantities makes to a male body?

Male breast development that resembles female breast development but is not female breast development. ✔

Soft skin ✔

A penis that doesn't taste or smell like a penis when testosterone is not replaced by estrogen ✔

Fat redistributed around the body if that male person decides to not undergo fitness training ✔

What else? anything??

And

How do these changes make a male person a female person?

At this point, it seems that this is pretty much the list. And that it is clear that some male people believe that these changes are ‘enough’ to claim to be female. If I remember, we have had a few other male people claim that there are more changes than we acknowledge yet can never produce a list. All while never once understanding how fucking offensive it is to female people, to claim that male acquisition of any of the above makes any male person ‘female’. It is Deja va! A repeat of some months ago.

Another male redefines the meaning of ‘female’ to suit themselves. But mainly it focuses on acquisition of development of male breasts to resemble female breasts.

(just a reminder that female breast development means the development of an interactive feeding system for infants that male people can simply never achieve. )

You’re missing:

Reduced muscle mass and strength
Slowed growth of body and facial hair, and eventual thinning of this hair
Facial fat redistribution

And it's interesting that they don't pass for a second in text, where we can't see them, and expect us to believe that they do in person, which is always a bigger tell.

A weakened man is not a woman. A less hairy man is not a woman. A man with a double chin is not a woman.

All toilets should just go unisex. Problem solved.

Except I don’t like unisex toilets because they smell and I find it uncomfortable when a man emerges from the toilet.

I understand that as a woman my preferences are far less important than those of the tiny number of women who began life as male, but surely I deserve some consideration?

Doesn't make you a woman.

And those can be achieved by the passage of time and a liberal application of pies to the diet.

NotTodayTy · 13/09/2026 19:37

It started quite young when I noticed I was different to the other boys. I just didn’t fit it and I was severely bullied for it. I didn’t have any shared interests with the boys and realised I had better friendships with girls. I really became aware that I should’ve been born female when I was around 11/12 years old and started to become uncomfortable with how my body was going to develop. I don’t have much else I can tell you other than I just kind of knew at this point.

What an incredibly sexist world we live in if not sharing interest with boys means you are a girl - you do know that as a boy you can do anything you wish, as can girls - there are no activities which are boy activities or girl activities despite what society or peers may tell you…

I suspect that every pre-teen I have known has gone through stages of worry about puberty and growing up… boys not wanting to grow hairy, girls not wanting their bodies to change so obviously… it is almost always a way of expressing the fear of the unknown versus the comfort of childhood, and not wanting to leave that really comfortable pre-teen place of a lot of autonomy, yet within the security of the family who love you and care for you… it can be dealt with through good parenting, reassurance, conversation etc… at no point does it help a child to believe that they can be the opposite sex as though it is an answer to their worries, whereas it is one of the biggest lies of the era.

so I am sorry that you didn’t have that support at such critical times in your childhood, but the reality is you haven’t transitioned and you are not a woman. Instead it sounds as though you are a surgically modified man who tries to live as a woman in some fantasy world.

obviously you are entitled to think whatever you like / do whatever you want to yourself, but you don’t get the right to then impose that on others… you don’t get to choose that women can only have mixed sex spaces, you don’t get to choose how and where or why a woman feels safe, you don’t get to remove the autonomy and self-determination of women…

so, while I can feel compassion that you ever ended up where you did, I would object to your playing out your fantasies in women’s spaces. you are welcome in men’s spaces as are all men, and if you are worried about changing or using facilities do so discreetly… but you don’t get to use women’s spaces…

What bugs me even more than the ignoring is the reframing of the ignoring.

I suspect Ty sees themselves as participating in debate here while picking off the easy questions, strawmanning the somewhat harder ones and avoiding the hardest, about female agency and autonomy.

And women's discomfort at their presence in the loos isn't discounted on the basis of good faith argument - facts, stats or whatever - but discounted as either not existing, or not being valid. Because Ty says so.

The common theme in both of the above paragraphs is a resistance to engaging fully and honestly with female voices, perspectives and reality.

Which really does give the lie to gender-identification and demonstrate pretty conclusively why women need laws which ensure that their agency and rights relative to men are recognised.

Edited for clarity.

murasaki · 13/09/2026 21:46

We just don't matter to him, that's all it boils down to. Seen it all before from the various TRAs on here, none of them have anything new to say, just contempt for the people they are pretending to be.

You don't see this from TiFs, can't think why.....

Thank you for finally answering.

How have I missed “Reduced muscle mass and strength” or ”Facial fat redistribution”? “Fat redistributed around the body if that male person decides to not undergo fitness training ✔” covers that very well.

Would you like to see the thread with all the links to the studies on? Maybe it is you who needs to educate themselves.

Ok let’s add “Slowed growth of body and facial hair”.

So the list is :

Male breast development that resembles female breast development but is not female breast development. ✔

Soft skin ✔

A penis that doesn't taste or smell like a penis when testosterone is not replaced by estrogen ✔

Fat redistributed around the body if that male person decides to not undergo fitness training ✔

Slowed growth of body and facial hair ✔

You added one thing? About hair growth? After trying to tell women on a feminism board on Mumsnet that we “twist yourself into knots to ignore the very real effect hormones have on a trans woman”? Oh dear.

Are you for real? Have you understood anything at all that women on this thread have been telling you? Or have you decided that we are ignorant while we have pretty accurately described the situation….

The ignorance of the female lived experience comes through in just about every post you make at this point.

Exactly.

Decent men know however that these changes to their physical characteristics don't give them the right to be in women's spaces where their presence tramples on our feelings of dignity, privacy and safety.

CassOle · 13/09/2026 21:55

Feminised Eunuch.

akkakk · 13/09/2026 21:56

Helleofabore · 13/09/2026 19:34

What is interesting is just how some male people seek to exert control over female people’s reactions to their presence and their words… while denying that people in their everyday life might understand very clearly that they are a male person but feel the need to affirm that male person’s subjective reality as if it is somehow material reality.

Imagine that…

I think there are a lot of men like that in this space - deliberately using ‘trans’ as a tool to push down women / gain access to their spaces…

however, sadly for a lot of men I think it is simply unconscious bias. they don’t instinctively think about it, and of course being misogynistic is to their advantage so they simply pick up the mantle and carry it forward…

it actually needs more men to tell them that they are wrong - women telling them that, (while correct), are not listened to, and while men generally have power socially, physically and financially it becomes hard for women to combat that.

so what we need is more men to support women, not out of a patronising ‘here let me help the weaker sex’ as some way of showing off their manliness, but genuinely, in humility standing up for equality and standing against misogyny where-ever it is seen. sadly it is not a societal trend, but to be encouraged…

Helleofabore · 13/09/2026 21:58

ArabellaScott · 13/09/2026 21:35

A weakened man is not a woman. A less hairy man is not a woman. A man with a double chin is not a woman.

Considering how noticeable some male jaw lines are, it would fucking take a fuckton of fat to hide the male facial proportions of a male skull.

It is pretty hilarious to think that enough fat is redistributed to hide a male brow and forehead, the distance between the nose and lip, the cheekbones and the slope of the eyes and the shape of the nose.

But hey… what do we know compared to a group of male people who tell each other all about the changes they notice from taking female levels of estrogen that somehow make them female. After all, that was where we were told to go and research the changes that hormones had.

You really have to credit the poster though. This poster didn’t include the ‘periods’ that we have seen some groups of male people cycling estrogen and progesterone try to make people believe they have.

Is the (word for the) human equivalent of 'gelding' on the naughty list?

murasaki · 13/09/2026 22:00

Ah, can we add the e word to the f word (not the normal one) and k word to the naughty list?

I did wonder what you'd said. But given it's biologically accurate I can't see why it's an issue.

CassOle · 13/09/2026 22:03

I only posted two words. I think 'feminised' is OK?

murasaki · 13/09/2026 22:05
