Reality Rules Parkrun Launch 3 October 2026

Today was another Parkrun Saturday and like every weekend the achievements by women was demoted by men running in the female category.

We are hoping to change this! In only a few weeks time, we will debut Reality Rules Runners UK at Parkrun. We hope that many hundreds (hopefully thousands) of you will join us to send a clear and strong statement to Parkrun about the huge support there is for fairness and sex-based categories at their events.

All sports events are responsible for putting on fair events. This includes free, volunteer run, community events like Parkrun.

So please tell people about Reality Rules Runners UK, as we are hoping to attract lots more supporters before our debut at Parkrun on 3 October.

Thank you! 🙏

Weird how upset some people seem to be at the possibility of other people racing against other people of the same sex to see where they rank, isn't it?

As I always say, it's not so much what TRAs want for trans people as how much they demand to control what everyone else is allowed to do that makes this movement so very clearly an unjust and poorly reasoned one.

TransParentlyAnnoyed · 03/10/2026 21:17

Parkrun isn't a sport.

It's an inclusive event, not a competition. That's the whole point of it. Exclusivity and competitiveness are antithetical to its founding principles.

I hope everyone had fun. Please continue. I would prefer my son to be able to do Parkrun in peace, with no one scrutinising his tits because they think he doesn't belong.

But there's no transphobia here, right?

Nope. None. Next question…

Not one other runner will know what gender your child registered as. They will see what sex they are. HTH.

So why do they publish rankings then? Surely if it’s non competitive, they should just let everyone run in one big group and not have any categories or times….

I wouldn't worry. There's barely any of these people in reality. They even had to issue rules begging their new members to be normal and not approach others with their pet obsession. I'm still laughing at how this backfired on them.

They wanted thousands, then reduced that to 1750, then to 1000, then to 750, and then just whatever they could muster up. It's been an unmitigated humiliation and failure.😂

We have cupboards built into the alcoves in our second best room. I have never liked them as they are neither use nor ornament. I will sit down over the next few days and design some bookcases as a replacement. I'm looking forward to the project.

Don't limit yourself! Have both. We've got bookshelves about the alcove cupboards. I suppose they're only useful if you have enough books to display.

You've proved my point, cheers. Creeps approach him all the time, staring at his body and demanding to know: "What are you?"

Glad they'll be elsewhere.

Sorry to hear that Parkrun hasn’t been as inclusive as it claimed.

Because people like to see their individual improvement. And how that compares to other people similar to them.

Put it this way. Trans people are about 1% of the population. About half are trans women. You can subtract many on grounds of age, availability, athletic ability, disability and willingness to mix with people who might subject them to anti-trans harassment.

That's very few trans women among hundred of Parkruns. And most athletic cis women will beat them anyway. There's a reason no out trans women have ever won Olympic medals, and why those 'look what tw stole from cis' lists have to include quiz shows.

Trans women on hormones lose a lot of their strength.

Cis women also excel at endurance events. Many endurance records (such as the Alpine challenge, contested by both men and women) are held by them.

I'm aware of the ridiculous conspiracy theory that cis men are running as trans women. Even though no medals, no podium. And cis men by and large have zero respect for women's sports - they think any half-decent man can beat any woman - so don't value the women's category at all.

The general public just want to turn up and run with their mates. Same as a couple of trans women liked playing Saturday football with friends, and a handful of trans girls had fun at Guides.

We're living in an age where - as I predicted last week - the US President is defending the Cornell rapists. As if more than a few hundred cranks thinking 'trans woman might run in park' is a real issue.

TransParentlyAnnoyed · 03/10/2026 22:13

Oh and p.s. A major reason why the general public avoided this event is that transphobia is associated with homophobia, racism and Islamophobia. As well as creepy types who transvestigate women based on their appearance.

I would hope it becomes a regular event, because that way trans people are left to attend Parkrun in peace. But it will fail because of this indelible stain. Call it a Dark Mark.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 03/10/2026 22:13

Apparently, only some people are allowed to get rankings that compare them to other people they consider similar to them.

Women who want rankings that compare them to other people of their sex (simple biological sex) can go whistle.

Because this isn't an inclusive, accepting movement, it's a sexist, authoritarian, didactic one.

Yeah, but unfortunately, what with TIM being men, they can’t compete in women’s sports. To be fair, I’d think only a nasty, pathetic cheater would want to compete in a category they weren’t supposed to be in, bit like adults plying in under 11s rugby. Sure they’d win, but an unfair victory is no victory at all is it?

why do you believe men should be allowed to enter women’s sports? for every man that enters, one woman doesn’t get to compete. How is that fair?

so if people are comparing times, it’s competitive right? But you said it wasn’t. So either it is, and times and rankings are published, or it’s not competitive and no one knows other people’s times. Which is it?

FlirtsWithRhinos · 03/10/2026 22:14

LOL I think TPA may have completely misunderstood what was going on here!

You are not shocked? I am, if not shocked, at least somewhat surprised at such a basic misaprehension, what with the kid being such a keen Parkrunner and all.

Jesus christ. This is a disgusting thing to write about a child.

The parent wrote about people staring at the child’s body and used the word “tits”. Which I do find disgusting in a parent writing about their child, this poster used the same language. So are you also going to call out @TransParentlyAnnoyed ?

There is that. Although ‘basic misapprehension’ is very on brand.

I know. And it was said by the kid's parent as well. I was honestly shocked.
