16 year old girl dies of strangulation during sex

In Australia. Supposedly consensual but then how would anyone know? The author is a bit ‘right on’ / pick me cool girl, saying ‘we don’t want to be pearl clutching about porn’ right after describing how violence against women is normalised in 35-45% of it.

I’m quite happy to shame this kink.

I’ve drummed into my kids (boys and girls) that choking is attempted murder and it’s not a fucking game that should be played.

I also pointed out to them that it’s an utterly selfish thing to ask of a partner. If you ask to choke them you’re asking them to risk dying for your fun, and if you ask them to choke you you’re asking them to risk life in prison and your death on their conscious. whoever asks for this has no care for their partners life.

I’m so glad my younger kids will be hitting high school/mobile phone age a few years after this new phones at school ban comes into place. Two of my four older children, both girls, saw porn for the first time on the school bus. One I knew about at the time (because she came home queasy and asking if “that” always happened in sex. “That” in this case was face fucking leading to cum over the face) and one I only found out about 2/3 years later as she said nothing.

Jesus. F*ck its hard being a parent now. Imagine being a kid. You sound like a good Mum.

Hm yes I do want to be pearl clutching about porn actually. My pearls are truly clutched. It's an absolute scourge on society and has taught a whole generation of young men that violent sex is normal. Even when they aren't hurting anyone it's just rubbish performative sex with no focus on what actually feels nice for either party and should be stopped for that.

I would fully support a blanket ban on all violent porn, so any porn showing women being hit or strangled.

People have managed to have a w*nk without a screen full of gang bangs in front of them for millennia. Just ban it.

I’m just glad the tide is turning on kids having phones. I was called prehistoric on here a number of years ago because my older children were not allowed phones in their bedrooms overnight and I regularly checked phones.

I had an incident when another parent complained loudly that her child was being excluded from a sleepover because they “couldn’t” leave their phone in the hall overnight as they needed it. I stood firm but was lambasted on here as being ridiculous. Now the three sleepovers my younger teen has been to have all had no phones allowed in the bedroom overnight and several of his friend group have basic phones rather than smart phones. It’s slowly turning but it is turning.

RC school - the PSHE lessons include a very terse 'If he ever puts a hand on your throat, you run, you block him, you don't speak to him again, you don't give him a second chance or you will end up dead or on life support whilst he stands up in court and tells everybody, your parents, your granddad, your aunties, your baby brother, all of TikTok and social media that you were really easy and liked it rough'.

That is absolutely gross. I was a young man in the seventies and eighties, there was nothing like that thank God. I can only speak for myself, sex was always consensual, it could be passionate, but was always loving and tender, there was never any forcing, coercion or violence.
I am certain that a lot of the nasty, violent stuff is happening because of the widespread availability of extreme porn, plus the Andrew Tate and incel effect.
