I keep reading that sex realists, of which I am one, are a cult. Perhaps a genderist could be so kind as to explain what a cult is, and why we qualify. Sometimes one of us calls them a cult too. Who has a better case, hmmm?

There has been a few posters who have posted on this board in a style that was aimed at negative feedback farming to then use to post about on other social media platforms. Or they did it to then claim to be a victim, particularly to then post about at a later date about how they were treated.

You mean the screenshot from filmed coverage of a live event in which Wallace both dressed and sat in a way which would have had women publicly excoriated if we'd done the same. That screenshot had been circulating for ages before JKR reposted it.

I mean when she used a photo exposing someone’s body to publicly shame them. Whether the photo was circulating before doesn’t matter - she used it with the intention to humiliate & degrade.

I wouldn’t do it to anyone even if they disagreed with me! Even if they’d committed a crime! It would just never be how I engaged, with ANYONE. It doesn’t matter to me who freda Wallace is or what she’s said or done; it’s a line I wouldn’t cross. And I wouldn’t cross it because of my own experience as a woman whose body has been sexualised etc without my consent. I wouldn’t never think the answer was to just… do it back.

Not as gross as a man wearing fishnets and a miniskirt on stage sitting do the audience could see up it. It’s not “up skirting” if you sit there with your crotch on public display.

“Up skirting” is putting a camera so it can get a shot up a woman’s skirt when no-one else can see up her skirt.

Do you know what 'upskirting' is? This suggests you don't.
It involves taking an image under items of a person's clothing which are intended to cover not reveal the body parts underneath
An image of someone's clothing which is intentionally revealing parts of their body - fishnet stocking and a very short skirt for instance - is not upskirting.

I am, and so are lots of women. Do you think Gina Martin, who campaigned to make upskirting illegal, is ridiculous? Because she was also appalled that Rowling did this.

Gina Martin is really interesting on this. She accepts that JK Rowling couldn’t be prosecuted for this, but she is clear it’s wrong. Are you suggesting that Gina Martin - like me - doesn’t know what upskirting is?

The actual photo was neither indecent exposure nor up skirting.

Presumably this is how Wallace wanted to appear when getting dressed and choosing a short skirt and fishnet stockings. I'm not sure how it would be possible to take a less exposing photo given the outfit - perhaps by throwing a blanket at the stage?

I'm not going to pretend that Rowling thought it was a flattering picture, but Wallace was speaking at a public event.

Plenty of people post unflattering photos of Rowling on line.
