Welcome to The Bluestocking, the best (perhaps only) online women's pub. Nothing in the food or drink can harm you, everything is served by a very enthusiastic crew of gerbils, and any curious menfolk are welcome at the Staunch Ally down the road.

Dessert pie or pie pie? If the former, probably best not to use cherries this time - not sure Chickadee is ready to see any of those again yet!

I would have apple. Or salmon and broccoli.

edited, spelling.

I reacquainted myself with those at breakfast today - so far, so good!

Ah, the box. Well...

Don't tell Gubbins as she will be distraught, but I'm afraid I got caught in a crosswind and had to jettison most of the contents. Fortunately I did manage to save one of the triangles.

Oh, dear.
What a shame.
Never mind.

Bumbles in.
I'm going to make a PIE for tea. Any suggestions for the filling? 😁

A really nice juicy blackberry and apple would go down a treat with cream. Don't bother with a first course. Grin

backformoreofthesame · 10/08/2026 17:04

Would a bass triangle be harder to pinch / mislocate?

AngleofRepose · 10/08/2026 17:04

I hasten to add that I have no idea what we would DO with a fleet of ships, but just that we should have one! (and Gubbins thinks it's a great idea, but Gubbins is bored with summer holidays already).

Speaking of Gubbins, I found her just outside the staff room, sitting on an unopened box from the move, tinging her triangle every few moments, pretending to be practicing, but really listening in on the conversation in the staff room.

The gerbils are all in a huddle, talking back and forth in hushed tones, looking very earnest. You don't suppose they're actually considering Fennella's offer?

ps. Gubbins must have found a spare triangle that Magpie didn't know about!

AsWithGlad · 10/08/2026 17:06

That’s worrying, Angle.

We seem to be acquiring a fleet! I think the next ship should be either The Amazon or The Valkyrie.

We do don’t we? Perhaps they’ll come in useful one day.

Might be easier on the ears, too.

backformoreofthesame · 10/08/2026 17:16

I didn’t want to say that - it’s so easy to hurt a developing musician

Gubbins might have found the triangle that ended up in Kitty’s toy box.

The contra-bass triangle might have been a step too far, though.

My Fuzzygirlcat hates the heat. She's gone off her food and is sulking under our bed all day. Poor kitty. She looks very sad.

Pigeon? One nearly hit my windscreen this afternoon.

Thehorticulturalhussie · 10/08/2026 18:50

EmpressaurusKitty · 10/08/2026 16:51

And The Boudicca after that.

All of the above. There’s at least one more ship somewhere.

MyrtleLion · 10/08/2026 18:56

Found you!

Gosie is eager for you to read about her next adventure, but she's had a really long day and it will be after 8pm at the earliest.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 10/08/2026 19:10

Whew - I made it. Almost got locked in (with the Tunnock’s stash).

I can live with that.

Gives the gerbils chance to have a referendum on Grexit. Stay or leave. Obviously only concerning the three invited to work elsewhere, can't have them all thinking leaving is an actual choice.

Not quite posh enough, if you know what I mean....

Not even if it's wild-sourced, free range pigeon?

backformoreofthesame · 10/08/2026 19:44

Quality of flying bodies is quite poor at the moment

ErrolTheDragon · 10/08/2026 20:08

If you want a meat pie with the contents killed by their own stupidity then it’s got to be pheasant.
