Also, as a Northerner, I must give a shout out for Dandelion and Burdock.

Does anyone now make proper non-alcoholic Dandelion and Burdock that doesn't cost almost as much as champagne ml for ml? Oh, and not "diet", which in my experience tastes of almost nothing.

And while I'm here: because they are almost identical to look at when you are in a hurry, I got some of the Lidl not-a-Tunnock's-wafer-rip-off-honest-guv "Caramel Wafer Bars" made by Tower gate, and they are pretty-nearly as nice and half the price, which surprised me when I got shouted at about them when i got them home. Even Himself admits it after serious trials and sampling.

I have done this extensive research into finding a decent D&B. Fizzy ones are now full of sweeteners and tasteless.
Barrs is full of Acesulfame K and Sucralose
Franklin's is made with sugar and stevia
Ben Shaws is made with saccharin and sucrose
Fentimans have recently started to add stevia to theirs

William Fox do a syrup that you add still or sparkling water to. Pricey.

I tend to go for the Mr Fitzpatricks cordial which is full sugar and less expensive than the Fox one. They also do an excellent Blackcurrant and Liquorice cordial which is very nice hot.

I miss being young when my fingers were small enough to scrape out all the goo via the smallest hole possible made in the top where the walnut was stuck on.

I can't help on the not alcoholic front front but Berkshire Botanical Dandelion & Burdock Gin is lovely and tastes like dandelion & burdock did when I were but a lass.

I think the sugar tax has either forced the prices up or made them use sugar alternatives.
