In case anyone has missed this prize example of a mentally ill adult male exhibiting trans entitlement.

What? I can and will refer to men as men. It’s not illegal. Hope that helps @DetectiveDouche

@Ereshkigalangcleg .. no you cannot.. you absolutely cannot lawfully and legally do it. Not if they identify as female. Won't stop you of course. (That's where the prejudice comes in ). But it won't be lawful or legal.

Laughably you probably have referred to someone as she who you would not choose to, because they looked female and you didn't know the difference. 😂

Hope that helps.

SodThisHeadache · 23/07/2026 20:42

@DetectiveDouche

What do you think transwomen are?

And again, you've completely misunderstood the law. I have the right to say transwomen are men.

BettyBooper · 23/07/2026 20:44

DetectiveDouche · 23/07/2026 20:37

To make this very very clear, for the 10th time, no I do not think that. The problem as I see it, is what you have just very clearly demonstrated. You have defined all trans women as men. As many on Mum'snet seem to do. And this is what you cannot do legally anymore. It's not ok. You just think it is.

All trans women are men. What else do you think they are? You genuinely think it's illegal to say that? And you would be okay with that if it was?

Anything else that you would feel fine to be legally obliged by the government to lie about?

Of course they are men, do you think they have changed into non men or something?

If so do explain how that happened and at what point they ceased to be men.

Thanks.

Which laws do you believe make it illegal for me to call a transwoman a man.

What law do you think prevents calling men, men?

What law would that be?

Please provide the law where I cannot state transwomen are men.

TheKeatingFive · 23/07/2026 20:48

DetectiveDouche · 23/07/2026 20:34

@TheKeatingFive of course it doesn't mean that. Of course not. But it also means that people who feel like it cannot continue to insist on referring to someone as he when they identify as she or she when they identify as he. That's simply not okay regardless of someone else's opinion about it and the law says so. Mumsnetters seem to think they can do it however. Over and over again on trans related threads.

Of course it's okay.

What law do you think compels people to lie?

This is silly made up nonsense with zero basis in fact and you are either very ignorant of the law or not someone to be engaged with seriously.

Seethlaw · 23/07/2026 20:48

The general consensus that "being trans" isn't even really a thing. That's prejudicial in an of itself and it jumps off the screen constantly on these threads. It's been that way for years. Even as the world moves on and peoples perceptions broaden, Mumsnet posters continue to struggle to accept that some people are trans. They dress it up in well worded arguments about women's rights (and incidentally, I believe absolutely that female spaces should be protected) ,but the message on here strongly suggests that so many believe that it shouldn't be an issue because people should just accept that they were born with a penis or vagina and live with that associated gender, despite how they may feel inside. It's so close minded. The world just isn't that black-and-white..

The general consensus that "being trans" isn't even really a thing.

Of course being trans is a thing! People around here have no problem with the fact that some people are trans.

Well, yes. Everyone, trans or not, should accept what they are born with when it comes to sex-related matters. The rest of the time, nobody cares.

and live with that associated gender

Er, no! Loads of women here are Gender Critical, so the last thing they would push is the idea that people should be constrained by gender. Quite the contrary: they are all for people doing whatever they want gender-wise, as long as they respect the law sex-wise.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 23/07/2026 20:49

Yeah which law are you referring to, I'm all agog. 🍿

BettyBooper · 23/07/2026 20:49

Is it GLP law? 🤔

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/07/2026 20:50

i haven’t the slightest interest in whether a man “identifies as female”, they’re just men. It’s not a value judgment, just an accurate description of their sex. I don’t subscribe to genderism and so I don’t use its framing or jargon.

BettyBooper · 23/07/2026 20:51

(I can feel DetectiveDouche frantically googling from here...)

DetectiveDouche · 23/07/2026 20:51

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/07/2026 20:41

All “trans women” were declared men by the Supreme Court in April last year. That’s as legal as it gets, lovey.

Lovey... 😂😂😂 I love the deterioration into sarcasm. If you're so adamant you are right, why do you need to resort to it??

It's a question of morals too isn't it. Why would you want to cause someone distress by referring to them by a gender they no longer identify with just because of your narrow minded beliefs?

I’m both right and I’m sarcastic 😂 it’s a skill

Hedgehogforshort · 23/07/2026 20:52

De lurking to express “hedgeagogness” come on @DetectiveDouche pray tell what law you are referring to, and on which planet you inhabit.

SodThisHeadache · 23/07/2026 20:53

TBF I think 'lovey' is intended to be condescending or patronising, not sarcastic (look it up*)

Because they don't believe in gender identity? Which they have no moral or legal obligation to?

That's like asking me why I don't refer to some people as "saints" and some others as "sinners" now that I've left the church I grew up in. I don't believe in those things anymore, so I don't use the associated terminology.

Expecting everyone in society to lie to you and about you in order for you to not feel distress about material reality is unreasonable. Some might say entitled in the extreme.

Yep. Straight into 'but you're soooo meeeeean. Why can't you beee kiiiiiiiind?'

We tried that. It didn't work. It made matters worse.
