That wouldn't exclude people who had transitioned. But it would exclude people who have a penis. Surely when people had transitioned and have a vulva instead of a penis they would feel exactly the same way, as women.

I accept that this may actually be a thing among TW discussions and it might just be that I've not delved deep enough into those boards, but I do note that the transwomen who desire surgery on their genitals focus on the creation of a penetratable hole - ie a very male-centred view of the utility and purpose of a female body - rather than the creation of anything approaching the wonderous functionality of the Clitoris. Though I am aware of those who claim that we should perceive their very male penis as "just an enlarged Clit" (no)

I agree with the pp who comment that it's really important that there is never any gatekeeping that is based on whether or not someone has had surgery that is dangerous, expensive and liable to fail. There is no gate to keep because there is no way for a male to become female. I just note that the surgery that these men desire is based on such a masculine concept of women.

'Women only' or 'Female only' does the job just fine. It is dehumanising to just use the name of sexual body parts to describe who a facility or category was designed for.

From my perspective, if a situation needs to be single sex then that’s what it should be, but most of life doesn’t need to be single sex so for all of those situations it’s fine for us to all be together. Where single sex spaces are appropriate/required for dignity, arrangements should be made to accommodate those who are trans or other complicated situations (eg third spaces)

Why is ‘they’ a question?
