Examples needed please

Hello, I am looking for examples of everyday sexism and misogyny of a, so called, low level. So I’m not talking about sexual assaults or harassment or catcalling but the kinds of things that highlight ingrained discriminatory attitudes towards women from men or women. The purpose is for a hearing I have to attend soon in which I wish to illustrate what day to day life is really like for women in the UK. TIA.

Nice one, I'd love to know how the consultant reacted and hope he was suitably embarrassed.

Choosing, ordering, paying for and collecting a car by myself, DH was working in Dublin at the time and hadn't even been to the dealership. Keys handed over in an envelope labeled Mr Pasta.

DH walking back into his office having collected his dry cleaning only to be asked why his wife didn't sort that out for him (he replied that he was quite capable of sorting out his own dry cleaning and , anyway, I was busy in a board meeting).

Standing my ground professionally in a meeting and being told I was aggressive. To their credit two male colleagues said "would you say that to a man" before i could do it.

Accident prone child, DH was permanently working from home and lead contact on all forms in school. Still phoned me every single time, despite them knowing I worked 90 minutes away by train two days a week. "Oh we always call mum first".

Interviewee for finance director post. I am COO and organising the stakeholder panel. Male applicant chooses to sit in the nearest of 3 seats to the two men in the room and furthest away from me and the two other email stakeholders. Talks animatedly to the IT manager and finance manager, partially with his back to the women in the room. He then says to the finance manager something about being COO. Then I get to watch him squirm as he realises he has been ignoring the COO for the last 28 minutes and has only 2 minutes of his time left. I did enjoy that one...

During the women’s euros in 2025 I got abused by men because I was wearing a Lionesses football shirt by men in pubs. If I asked could we put the euros on I got told to go back to the kitchen.

Received a message from the football team my daughter plays at - inviting everyone to support the 1st team, who play 2nd league (not UK) - I wrote back asking if this was the women's or the men's. - the women play in the 1st league.

It was indeed - the 1st men's team...

The sense of superiority towards women, and the way they treat women so much worse than men because a woman is no threat to them.
a) I was queuing at the supermarket check-out, with a basket of things. The man in front of me also had a, slightly fuller, basket of things. I was older than he was. He proceeded to tell me off (as if I was his 7 year old daughter) for queuing at the check-out rather than going to the self-service. Although 1) he was doing exactly the same, and 2) I was behind him, so had no impact on him whatever, and there was no-one behind me in the queue. I calmly suggested that he worry about himself and I would worry about myself. He accused me of being unreasonable.
b) Just yesterday, I had to stop and wait for a man who was literally just sitting in his car which he'd stopped in the middle of the road, so it was impossible to drive past him. A car coming the other way was was also stuck waiting for him. After waiting a bit, I made a sign suggesting that he move out of the middle of the road. He then turned his car and drove into his driveway. I started to drive on, but he made a sign to tell me to stop, and then relaxedly backed out of his driveway into the road again, slowly straightened up and drove back in, only then allowing the 2 cars waiting for him to drive on. All the time with a look of enormous entitlement and disparagement on his face. I don't believe he would have acted like that if the other drivers had been men.

The one we’ve all had- ‘smile love ,it might never happen’ by some completely random bloke.
The seatbelt one is huge, I’ve often thought if my car was involved in an accident I would likely be garrotted as the seatbelt goes pretty much across my throat and there’s no option for height adjustment , I’m 5ft 5. When my husband drives my car there is no such issue, the seatbelt comes over his shoulder and across his chest as it should. He’s 6ft 4
