Tempest v Rural Payments Agency Tribunal Thread 4

Previous thread: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5549122-tempest-v-rural-payments-agency-tribunal-thread-3

TT substack: https://tribunaltweets.substack.com/p/tempest-vs-defra-and-rural-payments

Tempest (a TW) is claiming discrimination, harassment and/or victimisation on grounds of gender reassignment. Central to the claim is the existence of the Sex Equality and Equity Network in the Civil Service (SEEN). SEEN has been granted right to intervene. Parts of the original claim against the co-chair of SEEN (Elspeth Duemmer-Wrigley) and another party (Andreas Mueller) were struck out or narrowed. Another claimant, PQ, is no longer part of the case.

I will also note that Elspeth still has a garden in need of seeds and water to support the ability of SEEN to be an intervenor in this case. The claim originated because she said "only women menstruate" and a search with her name and those terms at the usual gardening website should point you to her plot.

This sole is a naive soul/genocidal bigot from reading all that objectionable material. A martyr for the cause.

AL ( Alex Line) has showed that DEFRA did their job of investigating the complaint appropriately and professionally( and that she therefore has no grounds for complaint about anyting - other than she did not get her own way)

The Judge will surely have to clear DEFRA of misconduct and harrassment.

Jimmyneutronsforehead · Today 13:10

AL in summary, on evidence no conclusion that any relevant code of conduct was breached, so no further ation
ED because he isn't a civil servant the code of conduct does not apply to him
J - he does say that, and also that the posts are not objectively offensive,
AL thank you Judge, also says the code of conduct unlikely to have been breached by account
AL so your complaint was not ignored ED no
AL it was actioned, you asked for more information
ED at that stage he could have told more about the stage of the process,
AL his reasoning based on data protection ED that's right
AL thank you ED, I don't have any further qs - sorry Judge I have one matter to come back to
J fine, remind ED that under oath, cannot discuss evidence, AL will have a couple of more qs for you after lunch on the doc
we are all waiting for.

J

We will come back at 14:05.

2nd morning session ends.

See previous posts - it commits the Mortal Sin of considering women to be a distinct category of humans, different in some, significant, ways from that other category, men.
Transphobic hate-speech, obvs...😒

Thank you. I bought it as I'm a data manager. The evidence was excellently gathered and presented. Quite eye-opening.

It is a very good book clearly showing the inbuilt prejudice towards and exclusion of women from being considered in decision making. I also am curious as what was controversial.

I think one of her objections was that the group/meeting weren't criticising the book

Criticising it before possibly having read it is rather the definition of judging a book by its cover. In this case, in so many ways.

SinnerBoy · Today 13:19

ED no we didn't, we could have had a survey where everyone was fine with GC views in the workplace

Hmm, really? I hope the judge and legal team have picked up on this blatant, bare-faced lie.

That scone was delicious with peony jam, recipe courtesy of Wipeywipey. I am aghast that my family are jam on top of clotted cream people and not jam underneath clotted cream people. I always knew I must have been found in a cabbage patch because I don't belong to these people. Wrong'uns.

Thanks for the new thread. Damn, I'm so far behind and all I'm reading about is biscuits and I'm sòooooo hungry! 😩

Will there be a witness statement by ED in the public domain now she has testified?

But clotted cream is more buttery than ordinary whipped cream. And butter does usually go on before jam. You may be resistant to any objective examination of that topic.

Nothing to beat a good scone. It is a food for all seasons. It can be savoury with cheese etc., whilst also being a base for dessert with jam etc.

Well I can agree with your assessment but my nan also puts butter on her scone before she puts her clotted cream on, which I think is a punishable offense. It's either butter or cream, not both.

You can't have your butter and cream and eat them too.

I can and do. Scone, butter, jam, cream in that order.

It also rhymes with gone not cone.

janeszebra · Today 13:33

I like to please everyone and go for a jam, cream, jam order 😜

Surely if the jam and cream are the wrong way, around, stick the other half on and turn it upside down. 😁
