Tempest (a TW) is claiming discrimination, harassment and/or victimisation on grounds of gender reassignment. Central to the claim is the existence of the Sex Equality and Equity Network in the Civil Service (SEEN). SEEN has been granted right to intervene. Parts of the original claim against the co-chair of SEEN (Elspeth Duemmer-Wrigley) and another party (Andreas Mueller) were struck out or narrowed. Another claimant, PQ, is no longer part of the case.

I will also note that Elspeth still has a garden in need of seeds and water to support the ability of SEEN to be an intervenor in this case. The claim originated because she said "only women menstruate" and a search with her name and those terms at the usual gardening website should point you to her plot.

You can't do the 'what's the fastest cake' joke if it rhymes with bone.

(Ducks from criticism of scone as cake)

Chrysanthemum5 · Today 13:38

Ive not read the whole statement yet but at one point ED’s full time role
was running the a:gender network. Thats ridiculous

Surely if the jam and cream are the wrong way, around, stick the other half on and turn it upside down. 😁

surely you don’t eat it with the top on?! You only get half as much filling then.

The correct answer is jam under cream (no butter) because that allows you to have loads of cream. If you want more fruity flavour, you need a better scone.

I've got as far as

'I became active in a:gender from that point onwards, and eventually came out as intersex.
A:gender was delighted, as they had not previously had any active intersex members.'

She has improved her social capital by disclosing her medical history.

WomanInnaWoods · Today 13:39

If nothing else, it also confirms that the questionnaire was sent out only to "full" members which are trans, intersex or nonbinary only. Talk about stacking the deck!

ED WS for anybody interested.

Edited

Wow.

Loosely translated -

'In the beginning, there was no problem. Then a problem was created and put on a pedestal and everyone was delighted I had the problem! and then everyone who disagreed with me was a Big Problem and so everyone who says anything I don't like is making a literal genocide. They must be silenced or there will be tears and Great Sadness.'

Or something.

Sweet summer child.

You do both halves of the scone's so you have extra deliciousness.

Only a heathen would bite into a closed scone.

@WomanInnaWoods

I only just got to page 2 and had to stop.

ItsCoolForCats · Today 13:44

Can someone tell me who Elspeth, as the witness for the intervenor, will be questioned by?

"My first impression of Samantha was how lovely a person she is. Samantha is the strongest person I have ever met. She is resilient, kind and unquestionably brave."

ickky · Today 13:46

Also how do you "come out" as intersex?

You either have a DSD or you don't.

Do people identify into it now?

CompleteGinasaur · Today 13:46

Curse you, Heathen Terfs! I've got a doctor's appointment in half an hour, a haircut scheduled, the washing and the big shop to do. And now all I can think about is just knocking up a plateful of scones...

If time is short you can always whizz together some Welsh Cakes, fry on a griddle, cool and freeze and then just pop in the toaster before popping jam and or cream on after cooling for a few mins.

WomanInnaWoods · Today 13:48

It was preceded by the point that apparently ED didn't bother getting involved until "she [ST] was really struggling and suffering".

pontefractals · Today 13:49

That statement says ED was diagnosed around the time of starting work in the CS. Is that likely? I'd've thought in the UK, in my lifetime, you'd be looking at diagnosis around the expected time of puberty.

'I am living proof that sex is not binary...because I
have lived in-between the binary.'

How on earth can you live in-between the thing you claim does not exist? 😵‍💫

Nevermind that it confirms the binary

Oddly that's not my first impression of him.

2 I am an intersex woman. I received my intersex diagnosis around the same time I started at the Land Registry, but I kept it secret for many years

She joined the Land Registry at the age of twenty. It's inconceivable that a diagnosis of Swyer syndrome would be made at the age of twenty. Diagnosis of Swyer syndrome is made when they are investigated because they are 15 or 16 & haven't started puberty. The need to be given HRT of oestrogen & progesterone to ensure they go through puberty.

AL that recognises under diversity, the full range of human diversity in the UK, recognises each individual is different and diversity makes teams more effective

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that including people who are mad as a box of frogs in the diversity quota does not appear to be meeting the aim of efficiency...

Bold of you to think the aim is efficiency ….

CompleteGinasaur · Today 13:52

Am actually Welsh, so yes, I could. If I could tear myself away from the PC and ED's fascinating and truly harrowing account of the Gospel According to Saint Samantha. Plus my Nan, who taught me how to make them, would rise up from her grave and hand out a good smiting if I dared to eat them with anything more than a light sprinkling of caster sugar..

myladydisdainisyetliving · Today 13:52

@Jimmyneutronsforehead thank you for c&p this morning. I'm able to take over if you like, but happy for you to carry on if you'd prefer.

(Isn't this volunteering/stepping up just a brilliant example of Busy Women Get Shit Done.)

ED they don't follow those policies, they talk over trans people, they ignore them, they allow harassment to go on
AL support does not mean that any time at trans person complains they are unsupported

I would buy a beer for anyone who manages to talk over Stinkerbell.

she was diagnosed at 14 and treated for it but claims that somehow the 'truth' of her condition was withheld from her
It's all a bit murky
