David Tennant seemingly hates women

Just seen David Tennant on The Assembly. Might be a repeat not sure. Flabbergasted that in response to a question about supporting transwomen in women’s spaces he said people need to ‘stop the hatred’, step aside and ‘let people just be.’ (Imagine that being said in his over the top faux ‘man of the people’ manner.)

He was then asked a question about making Good Omen’s 3 when Neil Gaiman has been ‘cancelled’ due to the light issues of being accused of Sex trafficking and rape of women. Here, he simply said he couldn’t ’leave people on a cliffhanger’ and moved on.

So, he’s happy to literally line the pockets of (very alleged) male rapists whilst at the same time arguing women not letting men in their spaces is hatred.

Fuck David Tennant.

With regard to the OP and Tennant, if those comments were all he’d ever said, he might deserve the benefit of doubt. As it is, the “Whinging little fuckers,” statement leaves no room for doubt at all. That is a comment from someone who despises women like those here. It would be hard to come up with a more disdainful form of name calling, in a world where name calling is, in itself, an offensive and weak action for anyone.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 25/06/2026 10:01

He wasn’t telling them to go, he was saying they would, right? Where do you think he thought they would go? If Tennant told me to go anywhere I’d tell him to fuck off. But you know and I know that “they’ll be gone soon” is referring to his idea that anyone objecting is old and will die soon. Which is false, but he’s a misogynistic dick. And yes I do think he’s a good actor, but he’s still a misogynistic dick.

OMG. We aren't even speaking the same language. Not sure if you don't understand your inconsistencies in terms of applying your principle or won't acknowledge them. Either way, it's no wonder rational people won't debate GC's.

No males in female spaces. No...matter....what.

You cannot 'debate' us because your inconsistencies and desperation to micro-decrease groups falls apart.

That is why you lot all run away. You have NO argument for NO...MALES... in female...spaces.

Your whataboutery and goalpost shifting completely falls apart under the slightest scrutiny. Which is why you you cannot refute out points.

MALE vs FEMALE. You have absolutely no argument against that.

Yes, he's a misogynistic dick, much as I'm enjoying his performance as Lord Baddingham.

It's framing anybody who objects to the attack on women's rights and the misogyny of TRA demands as old and irrelevant. He dismisses women's concerns and rights as worthless.

It's snide, arrogant, ageist and misogynist, as well as being plain wrong - plenty of younger women want to preserve their rights and are not suffering internalised misogyny.

I think he has a they/them child, so that is why he has said what he did. Not condoning it, just saying why he is very strong on trans issues.

Yes, if he (and his wife) understood the difference between sex & gender, and why this is an issue they wouldn’t have a ‘they/them’ because they would’ve told their son that he’s a boy and growing his hair and changing his pronouns don’t alter the fact that he’s male.

2021x · 25/06/2026 10:13

I look at it like this.

Transwomen and gay men have the similar threat profiles when using the male facilities i.e. the men that target transwomen are the men that target gay men. Transwomen might be slightly more at risk because of their possible loss of strength - but the reasearch regarding that is such poor quality that it could range from 10-30% loss which still makes them significantly stronger than women.

Gay men are very unlikely to be a risk to women. In fact I would argue that gay men pose less of a risk to women in single sex spaces than a lot of transvestite-cross dressing type of transwomen.

I would still feel unsafe if a man that I knew was gay came into the female single sex space. I would still consider it harassment even if it was for a valid purpose. I am sure that gay men would feel uncomfortable going into the female single sex space as well.

David Tenant is an excellent actor- its just such a shame that he can't see that it doesn't make him any type of political guru.

This was my interpretation of his words as well. Also, when he saying he wished to be in a world where Kemi Badenoch didn’t exist, there was a very long pause filled with cheers before he said, ‘I don’t wish ill of her I just wish she would shut up. I think it is clear what his intent is, especially coupled with the ‘whinging little fuckers comment.

i quite like referring to myself as a whinging little fucker though.

He's such an odious man with a very nasty misogynistic streak. His comments towards women over the years has made me now dislike any characters he plays to the point I cannot watch.

As far as I'm concerned, the story of Crowley and Aziraphale ends with them sitting at a table in the Ritz, having just stopped the Apocalypse. There is no second or third series, just as there aren't any Metallica albums after Master Of Puppets.

Absolutely right. Terry Pratchett was the genius who made Good Omens so excellent, Gaiman just hitched his wagon. Any parts 2 and 3 are a load of old bollocks.

And Tennant is a misogynistic arse. Always has been. A great shame he was cast as Crowley imo.

Incarceration is not the same as offending & the trans population is too small to make any meaningful statistical conclusions about.

Irrelevant. The fact that trans women like the butcher of Melrose and Isla Bryson (and a long, long list of them) exist destroys the TRA argument, which is basically that trans women really are women. Because they aren't when it comes to sex offending, are they? They don't offend like women - they offend like men.

And you can claim the %s are too small (which is all you've got) but the fact remains that trans women are not some unicorn beings, a man who has rejected all that nasty male stuff and instead is a fragrant, lovely, cute "doll".

Isla Bryson etc remind us that we need to stay vigilant and not have an open door policy.

I completely respect him for supporting his child.

I can't help but wonder what it was that caused his child to go down the route of wanting to identify out of his life.

Where were all the social media posts when the wee lad was four and wanted to be My Little Pony? Or a fire engine? Or a worm? What attention did he get from his parents when he wanted to be those things?

A child in my family won a place on a meet with DT and his wife, back in the Dr Who days. They were so excited and it was a massive disappointment. Not only were DT and wife very late, they were disinterested, bored and left early. I disliked him then and my opinion has not changed.

mrshoho · 25/06/2026 10:58

'Celeb' parents of 'trans' kids that are shouting and advocating for this is a bugbear of mine. How many ordinary parents have been swayed, enamoured, envious of these celebs and felt it right on and acceptable to trans their tiny innocent children. Children too young to understand what is real and what is fantasy? If you look on YouTube or tiktok there are hundreds of accounts that parents not the child have set up. What's the reason? To monetise, to get the adoration and fame? As well as the younger children there are also the teens who whilst appearing to have made their own decision but have they? Was it more of these kids needing time to explore and not be pushed down the trans pathways so easily? The more I think about how children have been so manipulated it is horrific. It's not harmless as these kids will often end up with lifelong terrible health consequences.

I dont know much about his other work but whenever he presents "Have I Got News for You ' the show is always flat, unfunny and boring.

Yours faithfully, whinging little fucker

I remember a tv drama years ago where he was the lead. I can't remember the name just now but he played a controlling, dangerous, nasty husband. He played that character so well it frightened me.

That’s sad. His wife is the daughter of Peter Davison, another Dr Who incarnation and a gifted actor imv

I don't think this is entirely fair: gay men are not usually identifiable as gay at a glance (and some straight men may "look gay"), whereas trans women tend to be fairly obvious.

And we don't segregate toilets based on strength of individuals (though obviously the relative strength of males and females generally is a factor).

Kemi’s response 👏

”I will not shut up. I will not be silenced by men who prioritise applause from Stonewall over the safety of women and girls.
"A rich, lefty, white male celebrity so blinded by ideology he can't see the optics of attacking the only black woman in government by calling publicly for my existence to end."

Kemi takes no crap from vile old misogynist scrotes like him, she's on to them and how they hate it, small d*ck energy seeps out of every pore of men like him

You assume they are all taking hormones but they aren't. You assume that men will want to beat them up but that just seems to be accepted as a sad fact of life which women therfore have to compensate for. Where are the campaigns urging men to be nicer and welcoming to men in women's clothes? Why should women have to bear the risks? Also, plenty of places with toilets have staff - receptionists in gyms, security staff in shopping centres, bouncers in clubs etc. The idea these men are at massive risk is just a story they use to gain access.

Yes, I'm not convinced at all that the child is truly that way, rather than DT talking the child into it. It's rarely the child's choice.

"trans" child = vegan cat. We know whose choice it is.

I think he’s right to say “let people be”. Letting people be includes letting women be too, in their own safe spaces. I don’t think Tennant was thinking of women as people.

Of course not. We are background characters, pretty much interchangeable. They think of us by our roles not as people.

Call casting and get them to find a mum, a hot babe, a harridan and a female CEO.

Fuck David Tennant.

The case was sub judice at the time. He couldn't comment.

Wanting his nb kid to live, and be left alone, is not hating women. It's Parenting 101.

sigh So many cis men actually do hate women, but why not focus on a guy who's never shown any sign of it just because he doesn't hate trans people, that's constructive. Really helps the cause.

(Why not call him a groomer as well, like that well-known defender of women Graham Linehan does - Linehan who repeatedly reposts horrifically misogynistic content, and nudes of people he says are kids without consent?)

Most trans people and their loved ones hate Gaiman, myself very much included, because so many of them are survivors of SA. He has been dropped by virtually everyone.

I would have preferred Good Omens 3 wasn't made, yes. But I'm under no contract or obligation. (I know fans who watched only because NG wasn't involved, because they are Pratchett fans who wanted to see the end. I don't agree.)

Absolutely this.

He comes across as one of the many men who defines women solely by their usefulness to men. Hence the total discarding of the broken/malfunctioning ones.
