David Tennant seemingly hates women

Just seen David Tennant on The Assembly. Might be a repeat not sure. Flabbergasted that in response to a question about supporting transwomen in women’s spaces he said people need to ‘stop the hatred’, step aside and ‘let people just be.’ (Imagine that being said in his over the top faux ‘man of the people’ manner.)

He was then asked a question about making Good Omen’s 3 when Neil Gaiman has been ‘cancelled’ due to the light issues of being accused of Sex trafficking and rape of women. Here, he simply said he couldn’t ’leave people on a cliffhanger’ and moved on.

So, he’s happy to literally line the pockets of (very alleged) male rapists whilst at the same time arguing women not letting men in their spaces is hatred.

Fuck David Tennant.

I think he has a they/them child, so that is why he has said what he did. Not condoning it, just saying why he is very strong on trans issues.

RedToothBrush · Yesterday 00:09

Very sexist man, has a child who identifies as trans.

Hmm.

Wasn't Gaiman cleared?

I think it’s unfair to twist his words like this. Saying 'let people just be' is an appeal for basic human kindness and reducing hostility, not an attack on women. As for Good Omens, he's an actor under contract finishing a massive project that an entire cast and crew depend on for work—not to mention the millions of fans waiting for a resolution to the story. Equating contractual obligation to actively supporting alleged behavior is a massive, unfair leap

Totally agree

Ah. That must be why he called (potentially traumatised) women who don't want men in their single sex toilets, changing rooms, prisons and rape shelters "whinging little fuckers on the wrong side of history"
And hoped that they'd all be dead soon anyway
Also wished Kemi Badenoch would cease to exist. Such a charmer.

I doubt many people are excitedly waiting for part 3. Part 2 was utter shit.
He also cheerfully turned a blind eye to John Barrowman swinging his dick around on the Dr Who set so I can't imagine he gives 2 shits about Gaimans behaviour either.

ElenOfTheWays · Yesterday 01:20

Limoncellospritzz · Yesterday 00:41

Wasn't Gaiman cleared?

Not exactly. The lawsuit was dismissed with the judge saying it was the wrong jurisdiction and it ought to take place in New Zealand
He cannot be "cleared" as there were no criminal charges.
Most people seem to think he's guilty though as other incidents have been revealed since.

Wasn't Gaiman cleared?

Multiple people made allegations. One or 2 of them attempted to bring a case in US about events alleged to have happened elsewhere, under a rather obscure rule on jurisdiction, and it was decided that particular court did not in fact have jurisdiction to hear the case.

It's a rather loose definition of 'cleared'.

As for word twisting, tone and context matter.

As far as I'm concerned, the story of Crowley and Aziraphale ends with them sitting at a table in the Ritz, having just stopped the Apocalypse. There is no second or third series, just as there aren't any Metallica albums after Master Of Puppets.

Completely agree. On both counts

Are you suggesting 'feelz' is satisfactory evidence? Or only when trans people aren't involved?

Can't have it both ways.

Typical TRA logic🙄

hholiday · Yesterday 04:40

Didn’t he wear a t-shirt telling women ‘you’ll need to go through me’ or something? To use our own toilets?

Let's not pretend that's all they say when its all neatly wrapped in dehumanising & demonising rhetoric.

Helleofabore · Yesterday 06:06

It can be said that people telling others to just let people ‘be’ are indeed telling women and girls to ‘shut the fuck up’ and stop campaigning to have male people excluded from female single sex provisions.

Tennant has form as others have mentioned in shaming women for excluding male people. It is valid to categorise behaviour such as Tennants’ as misogyny.

JulietteHasAGun · Yesterday 06:08

He’s a very nasty piece of work who’s convinced he’s right.

NeelyOHara · Yesterday 06:09

His comments about Kemi were disgusting.

2021x · Yesterday 06:26

Add Daniel Radcliffe and Pedro Pascal to that list. Making a platform off of making women unsafe.

Lol since when has being convinced you're right been a problem? Certainly isn't on this board.

heathspeedwell · Yesterday 07:15

Didn't Gaiman use his friendship with Tennant to exhort nude photos from a vulnerable woman? He said he'd give her Tennant's hotel room number if she sent him the pics? It was a while ago so I'm slightly hazy.

Personally I think it's disgusting that Tennant is so breezy about three different mates who have had accusations of rape or sleaze, while he gets angry to the point of wishing women didn't exist simply for wanting our legal right to single sex spaces.

JacketPotatoFoodOfTheGods · Yesterday 07:15

He was talking to a trans person with learning difficulties.

Tryingtobegreenfingered · Yesterday 07:18

Hmmmm, he is such a hypocrite.

Tennant remarked that "acknowledging that everyone has the right to be who they want to be... should be common sense". He added, "Until we wake up and Kemi Badenoch doesn't exist anymore, I don't wish her ill, I just wish she would shut up"
