A man having fun most of the night in the women's toilets. Can't make this up.

A man having fun in the women's toilets. FFS.

For Lexi, the ladies is a huge part of her new life living openly as a woman. “I don’t want to go back. I have my life”. There are nights out where she spends most of the night in the women’s loos “chatting complete shit with other drunk girls”.
“You’ll be in there and someone will say ‘oh I love your coat, and you’ll say ‘I love your hat,’ and you’ll have a great time, you’ll chat-chat-chat,” she says.
“I don’t want to give that up, not now that I’ve had that. I don’t take a second of my life as a woman for granted because I know what it was like before. It wasn’t fun.”

'I don't want to use the trans loos'

In the first in a series, trans Bristolians tell their stories about how the Supreme Court's recent decision has impacted their lives

Exactly - this is one of the reasons they have refused third spaces - women are props/validation tools in their fantasy

What kind of venues does he hang out in where everyone is wearing coats and hats in the toilets, is he visiting the 1940s?

JohnnyFedora · Yesterday 18:01

Ugh who knows actual women who hang about in toilets?

Especially just to chat shit with other women?

Men are fucking weird...

Neutralnames · Yesterday 18:02

How many women spend most of their nights out in the toilets?! None, none at all. That is a thing that never happens! Actual women go there to pee and maybe touch up their makeup. They spend minutes in the loo. Minutes.

Only creepy blokes spend their nights hanging out in the women's toilets.

CornishDaughteroftheDawn · Yesterday 18:03

Sarah* is a trans woman. She used to be able to go to the supermarket in pyjamas, but now she puts on a full face of makeup before leaving the house. “It feels much more imperative that I pass, or at least that I don’t look conspicuous.” ‘

What a bonkers article. I’m pretty sure ‘Sarah’ would be as conspicuous in his pyjamas in the supermarket as with a full face of make up. Why do people think that pyjamas in the supermarket is remotely acceptable?

I don't want. I want. He can't even hear himself, can he?

GreyskySexRealistsky · Yesterday 18:06

Is this supposed to make the case for TW like Lexi to be allowed in women's toilets, so we feel awwww sorry for her?

Believe me, it does the opposite.

Mochudubh · Yesterday 18:09

It's the bollocks that they all pass and that using the toilets for their sex would out them.

Mate, the reason you haven't been challenged in the ladies is that WE SEE YOU and we don't want to challenge you because we don't know how you'll react. If a woman chats shit with you, I'll lay good money that she's just trying to deflect until she can get out of there.

thetinsoldier · Yesterday 18:10

Fuckety fuck: ‘Super-rich lobbyists, like children’s author-turned-anti-trans activist JK Rowling, are directly impacting the law by donating huge sums of money to anti-trans groups.’

There’s a name for the people that JK supports. Women. Women. Not ‘anti-trans groups’. Ffs!

Do these self-absorbed people actually realise that women have rights???

MyAmpleSheep · Yesterday 18:16

I was wondering if this whole article is a terfy operation. It’s just so unlikely this is all serious. But then it is Bristol, so …

When I first spoke to Tegan, she was working in child care. A 15-year-old girl she was caring for asked her to start taking her swimming. “Luckily, in Bristol, the [changing rooms for the] swimming pools aren’t sex segregated, they’re just cubicles,” she says. But she was still certain that someone would have something to say about a trans woman accompanying a teen girl swimming.

'A man shouldn't be taking a teenaged girl into the women's changing room'. He was worried people would be saying stuff like that? He should be.

WTH!! Why would he need to take a 15 year old girl into changing rooms 😱

If she had some sort of disability that required help with changing then that totally underlines the need for same sex carer provision.

This has left me speechless. WTF???

my thought as well! especially on a night out 😁
Do they put their coat and hat on specially to go to the loo and then take them off again, or are they wearing them while dancing in the club? Not sure which is weirder...

I've obviously been going to the wrong loos all my life as I've never experienced the level of fun and camaraderie TW all seem to enjoy every time they go out. Nor am I constantly asked for tampons, which is another trope that's often wheeled out.

Yes occasionally when I was younger there was a bit of drunk giggling/posing for photos etc. but more with your actual friends than randoms, and even then most people were in and out as soon as possible.

Leavesandthings · Yesterday 19:16

It reminds me of the viral video of a transwoman after the supreme court ruling, doing a really over the top poem about the loos. And how they are a special place of sisterhood and tampons and bonding over male violence.
Ironically, women responded that actually we just want to wee.

To be fair there were some clubs when I was clubbing where the toilets were very much set up for socialising and I do remember sometimes spending a lot of time in them, sometimes because I wanted to chat and the music was too loud, but often to get away from men!

Pleasantsort2 · Yesterday 19:26

I would have no tolerance for this shite . Neither would my DD. Women's spaces are not for enjoyment of men.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · Yesterday 20:23

If all the women in the loo are 'trans'IDing males it makes sense, otherwise it sounds more like fantasy fiction and they can't tell the difference anymore.

JanesLittleGirl · Yesterday 21:02

Gotta be honest, I didn't just use the loos in a club to go for a wee. I hid from creepy guys, gave myself 5 minutes to get my head together and, yes, occasionally had really sad convos around "Do you think that Billy fancies me?" or "Don't you realise that Dave really fancies you?" But, mostly, I just needed a wee.

ElenOfTheWays · Today 05:37

What an absolute load of shite. The entire article I mean.
Utter bollocks!
