My response to cross dressing

I have seen on here some resentful remarks about crossdressing, not just from males as I would expect, but from females as well. To be fair men have had to accept women cross dressing for decades now and that is supposed to be totally OK seeing women living in jeans, leggings, shorts, sports trousers, joggers etc. Personally I grew up seeing women wearing skirts and dresses when they went out shopping, to a pub restaurant or cafe and just in ordinary everyday life. They looked great then and I always loved those clothes which is why I now prefer to dress in skirts and dresses myself. I love feeling the flowing materials (nothing sexual) and wearing the very kind of clothes that I wish today`s women would wear themselves. Give me a chiffon skirt or dress and a lovely lacey petticoat (waist slip or full slip) and I feel totally happy and more natural than ever.

Okay? Weird post.

I know Mumsnet is notoriously gender critical, which is not something I align with, but I still feel like this is rage bait of some kind.

FWIW women wearing historically masculine clothing is not cross dressing, types of clothes have flip flopped between masculine and feminine forever.

Women are human beings with free will, not pretty mannequins with outfits for the male gaze. HTH.

Not sure it's rage bait, tbh.

I suspect it is looking to have quite another outcome to hand.

Wear what you want, it’s no skin off my nose. Just don’t expect us to pretend you’re actually a woman if you’re male.🤷‍♀️

FionnulaTheCooler · 07/06/2026 16:26

Wear what you want, just stay out of women's single sex spaces.

GirlsInGreen · 07/06/2026 16:28

That's nice dear.

Ponderingwindow · 07/06/2026 16:29

Clothes are just clothes. Anyone can wear them.

its not possible to “cross dress”
because no item of clothing belongs to a single sex.

Ipsevenenabibas · 07/06/2026 16:30

Bless you.

tripleginandtonic · 07/06/2026 16:32

Im happy for anyone to dress as they like, make up or not, jewellery, tattoos whatever. But the split is biological

ErrolTheDragon · 07/06/2026 16:33

It’s also pretty arrogant of you to think that it matters one whit to women that you wish more women would still wear pretty frocks nowadays. Dude, we wear what we want, appropriate to the occasion and season. 😂

MrsColinRobinson · 07/06/2026 16:35

No idea why you think this is of consequence to us.

Wear whatever you want just keep out of our spaces, leave our language and terminology alone, and don't expect us to pretend you don't look like a big weird bloke in awful clothes and badly applied make up.

Do you think you're a different gender whilst dressed in a skirt?

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 07/06/2026 16:36

I like wearing flowy dresses too.

Does this mean that you and I are gasp better than the other women??

JK, buck the fuck up.

Batties · 07/06/2026 16:36

The fact that you view women wearing jeans, leggings, shorts, sports trousers, or joggers as “cross-dressing” is incredibly revealing of your attitudes towards women. taking clothing that is normal women’s attire and pretending it is equivalent to men dressing as women really does demonstrate the weakness of your argument

User456778976546 · 07/06/2026 16:37

🥱

Tortoisel · 07/06/2026 16:38

I dont know what remarks you are referring to so I cannot comment on that.

My ex cross dressed (if you want to call it that); I didnt have a problem with it.

That said I would likely avoid a cross dressing unknown male in public. Theres not just cross dressers in that category. It’s a very very wide category. Pretty much any unknown male which catches my attention for any reason. Could even just be a man standing there who looks at me and smiles and I have to process that into normal vs creepy. If I am doing any processing it’s usually just an automatic no. Thats how low the bar is for women protecting their safety. It’s not worth the risk. And I dont care about being kind or polite to people I do not know.

So perhaps this is why you feel judged for cross dressing. If you are not a danger to others then dont worry about it and dont take it personally. We are all just trying to live our lives as friction free as possible.

Man parades his fetish on a feminist forum. Nice.

Dominoodles · 07/06/2026 16:42

Wear whatever you want dude, nobody cares

Thedogscollar · 07/06/2026 16:42

Wow your comment about
"Men have had to accept women cross dressing for decades now and that is supposed to be totally ok"
This tells me all I need to know about you.
No matter how many floaty chiffon petticoats you wear it's what is between your legs that determines your biological sex.
Nothing will ever change that fact.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 07/06/2026 16:43

lol you tit

ManyShapesOfPasta · 07/06/2026 16:45
