GLP - We’re suing a hospital for trans discrimination

“In May 2025, Lisa* was booked in for surgery to have her testes removed due to chronic pain. But a week before the operation was going to take place, the hospital called to say the surgery was cancelled.

The hospital claimed they couldn’t operate because the surgery was classed as gender-affirming care. But surgery for pain has nothing to do with gender-affirming care, and refusing to treat someone just because of their gender identity is discrimination.”

We’re suing a hospital for trans discrimination | Good Law Project

A hospital refused surgery to a woman in pain, just because she’s trans – so we’re taking them to court

I wouldn't climb too high on that horse, given the gender critical movement's unfortunate history with crowdfunders who vanish with large sums of money.

Gosh - you’re quite naive.

GLPs success rate is 8% in pretty meaningless cases. That’s a lot of money for a lot of failure.

Crowdfunders ordinarily go to the lawyers directly.

I the success rate is about 70%.

I know where the odds, the law and the science sit and it ain’t with Lisa’s lady balls.

And then they'll have to explain why they offered the patient the surgery anyway, didn't manage to rectify this mistake until the last minute, and why none of these alternative recommended treatment options got offered to the patient.

Wrong - GLP put out a press statement during that.

The affidavit will say something very different and likely won’t be proven. There is form.

Ooh, must have missed those, which ones were they?

At least they are actually using their supporter's money to pay for court cases. Remember that lovely lady who wouldn't wheesht who crowfunded over £25,000 for a court case that never happened? She wheeshted alright once she got her hands on that money, vanished off social media, never heard from again until she got done for fraud a few years later. Or how about the Detransitioner's Network which went defunked after it was revealed only a handful of people ever contacted the service, some of the crowdfund got spent on a pizza dinner and the rest was just never accounted for.

I'd say using a money for its intended cause and losing is still better than outright fraud to be quite honest. Careful on that horse.

Can you link to those two?

I can link to Jolyons grift and failures.

He slices the first 10% of all crowdfunders before then paying his privately owned company out of the rest too.

Crowdfunders on decline but he has monthly donations so grift comes in all forms.

And all so he can fail so spectacularly.

JM is also in the process of moving the company offshore to Jersey so the finances will become even more opaque. It’s a money making scam.

This person has been in chronic pain for years and your response is laugh emojis and mocking comments, says it all really.

Never in my life and acquaintance with lots of men and their health issues have I come across any that have needed their balks chopped off for “chronic pain”. Even the links you posted, talk about a singular teste being removed, not both. Yet colour me shocked the one and only time I hear about someone needing it done it happens to be a man who identifies as a woman. If this turns out to be anything other than someone trying to get so called gender affirming surgery on the sly I’ll be very surprised. He can go private if he’s that bothered. Why not crowdfund for that?

LizzieSiddal · 30/05/2026 08:49

So if this plays out how they want, a 14 year old could say their testes or breasts are very painful and they much be removed?

KnottyAuty · 30/05/2026 08:56

HenriettaSwanLeavitt · 29/05/2026 23:28

Well I, for one, find it very hard to believe that the same NHS that pretends female wards are single-sex, that gaslit the Darlington nurses with a man in their women's changing room and that admitted a trans-identified female to a male mental health ward where she was immediately raped would suddenly go all cold on gender ideology.

This!

GLP I suspect are targeting the long waiting lists for the gender clinics

Otherwise I look forward to hearing about the facts around this discrimination case. The NHS are 100% on board with trans ideology so I’ll be surprised if this claim succeeds

testmatchspecial · 30/05/2026 09:26

In the second link, it says he was admitted to hospital for acute testicular pain, then it says he has lived with chronic pain for most of his life. Surely if it was acute it would have been emergency surgery like the poster above mentioned, because you couldn’t function in life with that level of pain.

Tryanalogue · 30/05/2026 09:32

Amputating his tight ladies’ underwear might relieve the pain in his balls.

viques · 30/05/2026 00:16

Aw bless Lisa. Are you sure it isn’t all in your mind dear? First things first though before we go down the expensive surgery route, have you tried paracetamol and a hot water bottle? And distracting yourself with a good romcom?

Don't forget wine and chocolate.

Don't forget wine and chocolate.

And find a hobby. Thats what MIL was told before she was eventually diagnosed with a serious illness.

Quite. I also wonder if, given the severe life-long, irreversible consequences of having both testes removed, the NHS might just remove one first to see how that affects the pain levels. Piscean smell to the whole story.

Chrysanthemum5 · 30/05/2026 12:03

The thing I don’t understand is that it got far enough for surgery to be scheduled. So did a consultant/specialist agree there was sufficient reason for the operation? Did tests prove the pain existed and was severe enough for this?

if that happened I can see why the patient would be annoyed.

although as others have said - having your pain dismissed is a very womanly experience.

Mithral · 29/05/2026 18:46

No way is this fair. I've heard in incredible detail about women's surgery at the office. Some people have no filter and it seems pretty split across the sexes.

About Lisa's testicles there isn't really any way of knowing, I guess the medical detail will come out at trial. He could have torsion, there's no detail that I've seen about it.

Testicular surgery for torsion is a medical emergency- there is no way Lisa had testicular torsion.

Tallisker · 30/05/2026 14:08

Luckydog7 · 29/05/2026 18:28

Careful, you'll start a fad! Think how much you'll save on haircuts, shampoo and hats!!

And toothpaste and dentists 😊

Tallisker · 30/05/2026 14:11

I had two days’ notice of a surgery as the person who was scheduled in that slot had not passed the pre-surgery assessment so wasn’t cleared for surgery. Happens all the time, apparently. You get a date for surgery, then you don’t get clearance for it so it is cancelled/slot used for someone else.

Chrysanthemum5 · 30/05/2026 16:04

I understand surgery is cancelled sometimes at short notice what I don’t understand is why it was scheduled at all. At least one medical professional sat with this man and said yes surgery is the option.

was it someone sympathetic to his gender issues who was trying to help him circumvent the waiting lists? Or did he really need the surgery?

it all seems very strange to me

mrshoho · 30/05/2026 16:07

I'm sure it will become clearer once the trial gets underway. I'm sure the surgeon who initially scheduled the surgery will give evidence.

It could be that he had a sore ball.

The NHS could remove it and replace it with a fake ball, scrotum intact,

When he gets the pre op consult he says I want it al off, balls and sack.

They say oh well that’s gender affirming surgery so not our ball bag.

I can see something like that happening.

Whatever the truth it will come out in Court and Jolyon will lose.

RubberDinghyRapidsBro · 30/05/2026 16:47

@SexRealistic I see what you did there 😂

Chersfrozenface · 30/05/2026 16:51

Whatever the truth it will come out in Court...

If it ever does. I have my doubts.

Apollo441 · 30/05/2026 16:53

In any event, I am sure this will soon be added to the Good Law Projects litany of failure.

HolyMonthof · 30/05/2026 16:55

How's the crowd funder going ? Has Sophie Molly supported it?

ArabellaScott · 30/05/2026 17:20

This is reminding me of the Eunuch lot. Some of them go to extreme lengths to force the NHS to remove genitals.
