Inspired by this completely sane and not at all unhinged post by Brianna Wu about UK terfs, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the "dreadful middle-aged women" who have pushed back on trans ideology and have continued to say "No" to middle-aged men like Brianna/John.

I'm a few years off being officially a middle-aged woman but I hope to be just as dreadful when I get there. You're all an inspiration. 🙂

Absolutely frightful here too, and about to prove it.. I just googled Mr. Wu (anyone else hearing George Formby?) and looked at as many of the images of him as I could stomach. Apart from a few so heavily filtered (and I think professionally shot/manipulated?) as to be clearly fictional (motorbike, minidress, shades) I don't care how much surgery that man has had, or even if he thinks he passes: no chin, tiny compressed mouth, slightly exophthalmic,small eyes - that's a damn ugly bloke.

If I see a trans woman in a female toilet changing room I will shout till he's out.

I think "dreadful middle-aged woman" is rather tame. After many years on Mumsnet, I've been proud to think of myself as part of a nest of vipers and, more recently, a rights-hoarding dinosaur.

as a fellow mediocre male in that age range I can over confidently as quite an expert (hah!) say it really is a dreadful habit that seems endemic to our demographic!

I’ll just leave these images of “Dreadful Middle Aged Women” here. We have the benefit of history (unlike them) to know that eventually some of our hero wims will be celebrated in statues and their work seen for the fabulous public service it is. Calling us horrible names is part of the toolbox of keeping us quiet…. But long live the “Dreadful Middle Aged Woman” (and where do I buy the t shirt?!)

I discovered and researched GamerGate as a feminist issue, before I learnt about the harms of gender ideology.

I never discovered that Briannna Wu was a trans-identified male. I'm grateful to them for highlighting the issue for feminists but I am uneasy after learning about their trans status. It's clearly not about feminism as most people in that sphere would know he was originally male. So what is it about?

And isn't this the deception of gender ideology? Whatever discrimination was involved, given that Brianna is male, it was clearly not sex discrimination.
