Inspired by this completely sane and not at all unhinged post by Brianna Wu about UK terfs, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the "dreadful middle-aged women" who have pushed back on trans ideology and have continued to say "No" to middle-aged men like Brianna/John.

I'm a few years off being officially a middle-aged woman but I hope to be just as dreadful when I get there. You're all an inspiration. 🙂

Sorry to break it to him but it’s no longer just dreadful old women. I work with young people and they really aren’t buying the whole gender thing anymore on the whole.

Women with life experience, less dependency on men and what men think of them, the confidence of a body getting older, and less patience with fuckwittery, are the biggest barrier there is to those who would love to see an end to safeguarding. Those women have seen relationships fall apart and know about the abusive kind of person at home and work, they've had the time in the workplace to experience the politics and the tedious fuckery, they've raised kids and know damned well when they're being lied to and manipulated, and they're damned if kids and other vulnerable people are going to be exploited, with an actual view to equality instead of a curated, shiny, marketed pile of crap with flags. And British women seem particularly good at this.

I think it may be at the point when, at the end of a VERY long train journey from Cornwall to London, full of screaming babies, smelly burgers, screeching teenagers, and standing room only from Bristol to Reading, you speak up in your best "I don't f-ing care anymore, I used to run an entire division of fuckwits no older than you" voice and tell said teenagers to "TAKE YOUR RUBBISH WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE, DON'T JUST LEAVE IT FOR THE CLEANERS, WERE YOU ALL BORN IN A BARN?" and everyone in the carriage (sans said teenagers) claps.

Brianna has some real issues in the left/Democrats echo chamber he comes from/inhabits.
Apparently he says he recently offered an olive branch to GCs and this went down terribly with his clan, and he recanted.
Ironically his criticism was for the GCs being inflexible, not his clan for the same.
He has bigger fish to fry with the Gaza/Omnicause implosion in the US.
He's tacking to the pro-Zionist position, which will bring him nothing other than a world of pain.
If anything is rivalling, and maybe going beyond the GI culture wars, it's fealty to anti-Zionism, especially in the US, Wu's home turf.

No problem with the dreadful bit

I was on my last tether by that point, and my loud, "outraged American" voice tends to carry and often startles people into silence. It also probably means I get away with things more easily because people who would normally argue don't know what category to put me in, and their moment passes! 😆

ps. I'm very quiet by American standards, but I can "New York" anyone like the best of them.

Littering and/or general laziness about rubbish should be a hanging offence in my book. Good thing I am not in charge!
