That is if The Human Paperweight that is Philipson can make her mind up. What should we expect?

The law applies universally. The updated Keeping Children Safe in Education is absolutely clear that no child over the age of 11 must undress in front of the opposite sex etc. It will no doubt take a while for organisations to consider the implications of having followed Stonewall's fake interpretation of the law. I suspect that some employers may have to write into their employee "conditions" / code of conduct something about abiding by the employer's legal / safety requirements etc.

Edited

I’m not sure about this actually the guidance coming out today. Does that definitely include workplace toilets or does it just cover service provider toilets?

I struggle to put into words how offended I am by people making little pink triangles to wear, just because they can't go in the ladies loo

https://www.reddit.com/r/transgenderUK/comments/1tj0add/small_acts_of_defiance_of_the_ehrc_likely/

it's grossly, grossly offensive

It feels like a common pattern in these men is appropriation of the experiences of others that they do not and cannot experience.

It starts off with them appropriating what they think of as women's experiences, including redefining misogyny to apply to themselves, notably Julia Serrano and his concept of transmisogyny, and female bodily experiences, including periods. Then appropriation of the gay rights struggle, like how the LGB got twisted around to become the LGBTQ++, erasing same-sex sexual orientation in the process. And now appropriation of the torture and murder of millions in concentration camps under the Nazi regime, as if not being allowed to intrude upon the women's changing rooms is somehow equivalent to being condemned to death by Hitler.

100%.
It will all be incredibly challenging and will take many years develop - in contrast to our previous lightening speed removal of women's changing rooms, showers, toilets following the demands of a tiny % of men.

It is depressingly true. I know, for example, that policies in HE normally take a full academic cycle to be approved by the governing body.

But, we will get there in the end.

teawamutu · 21/05/2026 08:51

I haven't checked trans Reddit yet - they tend to react later, guessing a combo of NEETs not needing to be up early and only getting their news via social media so other people need to read it and react first - but I'm predicting the Oppression Bingo card will contain:
*Comparisons to segregation
*Pink triangles and Nazis (already ticked)
*Genital inspections
*'Cis' women will be affected most
*Carry on regardless
*... But intersex
*Sex isn't binary
*Terfs are a loud minority
*Right Wing American Shadowy Funding [note: hurry up with mine, I've been terfing for free for years]
*I'll be attacked in the men's
*Victoria McCloud/Foxbotherer/Robin Moira White says it's rubbish so it must be illegal
*Lemkin Institute genocide warning

Predicting I'll clock the lot in the first thread. What've I missed?

To be fair the removal wasn’t “by lightning”. Looking at the dates on lots of these policies many followed long procedures and jumped through many hoops to justify the unjustifiable! 🙄 The campaign took 15 years or so to get going at pace - it’s just that it seemed to come out of nowhere because it was all back room dealings and stealth. Totally corrupt but ticking all the boxes

@teawamutu This one has 'genital inspections'. I gave up reading it after that.

Hmm. Will letters pointing out they're KNOWINGLY in breach of the law RIGHT NOW and vulnerable to litigation speed things up? Is there any possibility of a class action?

Sorry - didn't mean to confuse. The KCSIE education guidance is for September I think.
I was just pointing out that in certain areas the government is already planning to apply the law.

I checked Reddit and answered my own question re what they're afraid of 😵‍💫

Talking about how there will be no consequences for Bridget Philipson personally "Oh, I'm sure some will be arranged. All it will take is one trans person who feels they have nothing left to lose."

So much of their arguments come down to their fundamental belief that people actually pass and if you understand that they don’t all of this falls on its arse

Oh, I know the trans lobby are beyond reason. I meant institutions who can be called to account at tribunal, have to answer to insurers etc.

Until very recently, class action suits weren't really a thing in the UK (has this changed?).

In my experience (just from my own work), universities would always prefer to push it to the point of being sued, rather than change things they (meaning, their paying student customers) don't want to change. Universities don't like being told what to do. (academic freedom, apparently)

Universities have loads of money (and so feel barricaded against threats of legal action) especially Russell Group institutions, and bought into the Stonewall schemes eons ago. They won't let go of that power easily. Too many make-work jobs at risk ( and activist student customers to pacify).

I wish Mumsnet still had the laugh react. This is so true it almost hurts.

Someone really ought to create a prototype bingo card for use in these situations.

Could be a polyproto bingo card.

In the UK it's group actions. It's how the subpostmasters were able, as a collective, to take on the Post Office at the High Court.

You missed, “it’s as bad as the reaction to the AIDs crisis”. And apparently the uk won’t be able to host IDAHOBIT 27 or something

They just can't help themselves. They should be careful here. But they won't be.

They are terrorists, pure and simple. They terrorised Baroness Faulkner and they will terrorise Bridget Philipson, as if she is personally responsible for making and implementing the law. They are deluded in so many ways and it's quite scary.

"as if not being allowed to intrude upon the women's changing rooms is somehow equivalent to being condemned to death by Hitler."

Beautifully put.

I sincerely hope I don't see any of these pink triangles in the wild; I don't think I would ever retrieve my eyeballs from the back of my head.

Another poster on another thread used the phrase Privilege Laundering recently. I suspect part of the appeal of this sort of cosplay of oppression is exactly that.

AuntMunca · 21/05/2026 09:06

Trevor Phillips has just spoken very sensibly on this on Times Radio (apparently made Kate McCann think differently on some of the issues). Trevor will be covering it further on his Times Radio show at 1 pm.

Indeed - for example you will ever see them abd indeed many media outlets holding up hunter schafer as an example of beauty, hanging on about how could you deny this was a woman. However it's all to fucking obvious he's a man -x.com/vibeink01/status/2057054373876805916?s=46

FarriersGirl · 21/05/2026 09:07

Trevor Phillips is covering this topic on Times Radio at 1.00pm and given he was one of the original architects of the Equality Act it should be worth a listen.

Hard luck for Andy Burnham, his words have come back to haunt him.

The Reform candidate is known as The Plucky Plumber. For some reason that amuses me.

Pandering to this is so dangerous for society. As illustrated by @Kinsters post highlighting a threat to BP upthread. Whilst I think she's useless at her job, no-one should be subject to such threats for following basic law.

Thinking all these things (e.g. that having to use public toilets that are clearly labelled mixed sex or in line with the reality of your sex is oppression) is delusional mental illness, and a type of delusional mental illness that if indulged places others at risk. The sooner this is recognised the better.

Not only that, far from being 'kind' it's actually very unkind to these men themselves (and the very occasional woman). It's grooming them into abusive behaviours 'give me this or else' 'if this minor inconvenience happens it's literal genocide which violence is a legitimate response to'. It's legitimising extreme violence for the mildest of things not going entirely their way. It's pretending reality doesn't exist. That doesn't work for most people.

The consequences for women are of course worse - as for the TIF who ended up raped within an hour of being 'affirmed' by being put on a male psychiatric ward. An obviously predictable consequence of the truth and reality of the situation.

Pandering to these delusions and demands is EASY not kind. And of course now it's backfiring.

I do think we need to keep threatening legal action and pushing insurance companies to be clear insurance will not cover any losses for organisations that ignore the law. Because unfortunately now the whole of society except for a few islands of sanity (such as FWR) has pretended the Emperor isn't stark bollock naked for fucking years they've made the situation worse.

lanadelgrey · 21/05/2026 09:18

I do realise that laying the guidance doesn’t mean the minister tiptoeing into the actual Commons library with a file of paper, but it feels like we need a nest cam to watch a no-doubt heavily polished table and a heavily disguised Bridget making a stealth move and then running out hoping that she hasn’t been spotted @boiledbeetle do your best!
