The Bluestocking Pub: Infinite Cocktails, Questionable Logistics

Welcome to the nth iteration of the Bluestocking women’s pub, where gerbils are staff, the drinks are free, and alcohol has no effect except to get you to the sweet spot just before the drink you really shouldn’t have had.

Men can go to the Staunch Ally next door.

It’s OK if you don’t understand. Just assume everything is normal.

@PastaAllaNorma at least my hoarding is my own crap. I'd be really pissed having to sort someone else's hoarding out. Although ordering a skip would probably be on the top of my to do list in your shoes.

I've just got to my many boxes of theatre programmes.

Can anyone guess what one of my favourite things to see at the theatre is.

Those dear sweet little gerbils have a way with words, not just with trays of sandwiches many times their body size - that's a lovely message of support to Pasta, and I'm guessing they also brought that mug for Mr Pasta Snr.?Smile
Little sweeties💙

Maud is having a late breakfast at K&Ps whilst Clara and her crew move the mammoth amount of outfits back to the pub.

Some Escher hat box carrying in those images...

In amongst my junk I've just found a preview edition issue of Just Seventeen.

In the main the fashion of 1983 isn't as bad as I remembered it. Although some is much worse (see the red stripes outfit)

I quite liked 80s fashion. I was very skinny so looked good poured into jeans, and enjoyed the bright colours and the baggy jumpers. Also the long skirts and the flat shoes.

FuzzyPuffling · Yesterday 12:51

I had a blue boiler suit very similar to that red one. It was fab maternity wear in 1984.
It got downgraded to painting overalls and eventually bit the dust last year. Longevity!

They've just arrived!

You absolute legends! Delightful uniforms, lovely messages. Many thanks to all the Bluestocking staff and regulars

Enforced break this afternoon - I have run out of boxes! Another 20 arriving tomorrow.

Swash, I send my sympathy and support. Very best to you and Dr Swash, and I wish peace in your new home by the sea.

Let’s see how many shades of sea MN will let me post…

Caithness or the Orkneys, Errol? Either way, thank you So much for these views of our beloved north coast. 😍For nearly 2 decades DH and I holidayed on the north coast at least once a year, based in Tongue in Sutherland, but making regular forays east to Caithness. We loved the whole area passionately and miss it very much now we're too old to make the long journey up from Wales.

Oh my goodness I remember taking my offspring to see that in London, sometime in the 90s I think. Brilliant production.

We have quite a decent theatre here, but I do miss the West End - though I probably couldn’t ford it often these days. I took my UK grandchildren to see Wicked last year and we all enjoyed that.

Ohhhh, glorious!

Are you still in Caithness, or have you migrated over to one of the Northern Isles?
I had a look for you and Mr Dragon in Thurso, but I'm pretty sure you had gone by the time I got to the beach – it takes quite awhile to get up there doesn't it?
I am so fond of Scotland and particularly the North of it and even more particularly, the Northern Isles although I'm quite fond of the Western Isles as well. I am considering migrating up there myself, although I would miss the Bluestocking. It's the sea that calls to me.

"Moooooose! Moooooossse!"

I can hear it in my dreams.

PastaAllaNorma · Yesterday 16:56

@Boiledbeetle - that was my Mum's favourite. She saw it 5 times. (I've matched her with seeing Hamilton in the West End 5 times)

Raise a toast to her, she died 7 years ago today.

Maud is back home at the Bluestocking.

I don't know if anyone captured the momentous occasion. But there was hugs and happy gerbils.

Maud has just gone to her room to get out of her travelling clothes.

(I've hit my image limit so I've not been able to capture her return)

Loving the tailored suit with waistcoat, Maud you must give me your tailor's nameGrin

Welcome back, slip into something more comfortable and have a nice hot chocolate with extra cream and marshmallows, you've earned itSmile

Dear Maud, thank you for all your work on the WH. You kept morale up and inspired us. We could not have done it without you. Good to have you back here at the Blue Stocking though.
