Hamas sexual violence on 7th October attack. Content warning.

A new investigation has shared more information on details of Hamas' atrocities.

I do urge caution when reading, and don't if you are feeling fragile.

'An independent, Israeli investigation has published harrowing details of "systematic, widespread" sexual violence by Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups during the attacks on 7 October 2023, and against hostages.
The 300-page report concludes that rapes, sexual assault and sexual torture were intended "to maximize pain and suffering".
While the UN and others have published reports on sexual violence during the attacks – in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 taken hostage – this is the most comprehensive.
It draws on 430 filmed interviews with survivors and witnesses, more than 10,000 photographs and videos filmed by attackers, and official records and material from attack sites.'

Yes I'm sure Hamas is dependent on The House Wives of MN for their continued existence.

You really need to rein in your sexist and ageist sneering. It doesn't fly on here. You've been deleted once for it today already. Although personally I wish that post had been left to stand for all to see.

AlexaStopAlexaNo · 12/05/2026 23:06

How can an investigation be independent and Israeli at the same time?

Yes I was deleted for all things for not enjoying un consensual strangers nudity.

And I'm a 'house wife' myself so I take offence that you view such roles as an insult.

I shall never forgive those who saw the footage of after young woman being dragged about after she'd been raped and then mocked her by saying that she'd 'only' messed herself.

ErroltheSwampDragon · 12/05/2026 23:08

Thank you for posting @ArabellaScott

The report makes for very difficult reading, but I think it's important for people to face up to the barbarity, and the premeditated nature of that barbarity, and to listen to the testimonies of the victims.

I cannot comprehend the kind of person that would plan these acts of rape, torture, murder, defilement, or those that defend them. And yet, at least in regards to the latter, we live alongside them.

Not to play it down, but I think most people knew this.

The problem has been the stupid bureacracy about how something becomes official.

Which could have been resolved if in the first instance Netanyahu hadn't blocked the UN from carrying out an investigation at the time which they asked to do.

Rape has been a weapon of war for centuries.

'Not to play it down, but ...'

Plays it down by not mentioning Hamas. Just Netanyahu.

'Rape has been a weapon of war for centuries.'

And????

There's nothing agist about personal visual preferences.

Now if you don't mind this isn't a thread to air your insecurities.

Defend the indefensible.

Awaiting the “but they’re Israeli, so it’s going to happen” said as a wee Catholic Scot, before anything else gets alleged

ThatLemonBee · 12/05/2026 23:27

Some footage of the body cams was leaked a while ago on X , if anyone has doubts this happened they need to get their head checked !! If anyone can defend this then they are evil .

I agree. The speculation was a product of not allowing an independent investigation immediately. Having said that, historically this sort of conflict always ends in sexual violence so rape most likely occured the question was, was it by authorised systemic design or not & given all sorts of violent gangs from Gaza participated that day its difficult to know.

WearyAuldWumman · 12/05/2026 23:34

I was shocked by the footage of 'ordinary' people cheering after the attacks and celebrating as the seemingly lifeless body of a young woman was thrown about.

The report was written by The Civil Commission which is a non-profit. Presumably, when Alexa queried how it can be both independent and Israeli, she mistakenly believed it to be a government report, rather than saying no one in Israel could possibly be unbiased in their investigation?

As other posters have pointed out, there is plenty of video footage because Hamas wanted to broadcast their atrocities. They were proud.

TomeTome · 12/05/2026 23:53

Heartbreaking for the women and their families.

Quite a lot of the perpetrators are going to get hanged, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to wring your hands and express your sympathy with them in due course.

I'm not suggesting everyone is Israel is bias. Far from it. Many Israeli's are anti Israeli government & their staunchest opponent’s often at great risk. But the problem is public perception is everything in terms of acceptance of reporting. Independent inquiries are the norm for this reason. Justice needs to be seen to be done as well remember? And given the intense understandable outrage & fear by the Israeli population bias is going to be perceived as a problem whether true or not.

Let's hope Netanyahu & co are among them given their 'contributions' to enabling Hamas & prolonging the rescue response.

I honestly don't think any such report, irrespective of who wrote it, would have been accepted by those who hate Israel.

The victims and their families have already suffered greatly and we all know the process of speaking about an assault can be traumatising too. We do not need to give airtime to those who would only accept the victims' testimonies if they were provided alongside video and forensic evidence that had been gathered by some mythical unbiased person and published for the ghouls to pore over.

It is not a standard we hold anyone else to for good reason, and we should not apply it to these victims.

I think good faith goes a long way in preventing suspicion & that's why it was important for Israel to show they had nothing to hide by allowing independent investigators in immediately. They only contributed to suspicion by acting suspicious.
