Transgender hate on mum's net

1000 replies

Steph2002 · 08/04/2026 13:30

I'm just wondering, I see so much hate on here about transgender woman and not a lot about transgender men. Does everyone on mum's net hate Transgender women and if so why? I don't mind sharing a toilet space with a transgender woman in fact my best friend is a transgender woman and she is the nicest person you could ever wish to meet and will protect any woman no matter where they are. I would hate to be sharing a toilet with a hairy masculine transgender man, which seems the way people want to go why? Am I the only person on here that supports trans gender women, if so I need to leave. How many people that hate Transgender women have actually met one and had issues with one I'd love to know.

Oh the feigned ignorance and outrage at the supposed transgender hate on mum's net [sic], plus the lovely best friend trans woman. 🙄

Give us some examples of the hate; you must have found them while you were reading through all the threads to have formed your opinion.

Are the schools back soon?

But where's your evidence? I have never met her (or him, whatever), neither have you. I also assume you're not a doctor who has inspected them or looked at any DNA testing. JK Rowling neither. My point is everyone assumed based on... looks.

How about where Imane himself confirmed he has the SYR gene?

Well according to JK Rowling and many on this site I guess not given how quick everyone was to assume Imane Khelif was a trans-woman without any evidence at all other than... well her being tall and not wearing makeup.

Wrong. Please provide evidence of JKR and the posters on this board calling him a transwoman. See JKR’s recent tweet attached.

Genuinely though in that scenario what would you do? Because it seems to me to be the creep's get-out clause that they could claim to have a biological right to be in a space and short of some staff member being willing to pull their pants down and check I don't see how one would get round it.

So, why do we have single-sex spaces at all?

Because as far as I can tell, transpeople don't want to abolish single-sex space, they just want the privilege to enter the wrong ones for their sex.

Not a great argument, really.

whiteroseredrose · 08/04/2026 14:29

Where something, be it facilities, a competition or sport, has been set up for women, it has been set up just for women for a reason - privacy, dignity, fairness, levelling the playing field.

There is no point in having women’s sports or facilities if they are going to be used/abused by men. It defeats the object.

And a trans woman is by definition, not a woman but a man.

Trans men can be included because they are women.

Nobody here that I saw assumed he was a transwoman. The prevailing view was that he was a man with a DSD which turns out to be exactly what he is. Why are you misrepresenting the truth?

FelliniFilms · 08/04/2026 14:27

Where's the evidence they would be raped the second they entered a male toilet?

And why does their supposed risk of rape outweigh the threat that women might be raped in their own toilets if men were allowed in?

It doesn't matter how stunning they are or how much they pass, they are still male.

Oh, and no one is advocating for genital inspections of any kind.

Of course no one is advocating for genital inspections. I'm just curious what I or any of us would do if a bloke walked into the female changing rooms in my gym and said 'well I was born female so I have to be here'.

Maybe I'd go get a staff member but if they doubled down and insisted... I don't think there would be much anyone could do.

I would imagine feel very uncomfortable, too scared to challenge, and leave feeling violated. It's not fair to expect women to have to deal with that, particularly (but not exclusively) women who have been sexually abused.

Men should just keep out of women's spaces. It's not women's responsibility to make men feel comfortable. Zero tolerance - don't care how nice and gentle and well made up they are.

ginasevern · 08/04/2026 14:30

@Steph2002 "I totally agree that men in dresses should be banned but they aren't transgender."

Yes but they want to be considered as women and allowed into women's spaces. Have you not seen some of the vitriol directed at women online by some (too many) of them? Jesus, vitriol doesn't even cover it. In the meantime, women are supposed to "be kind". In other words do what they've done for centuries, and put men and their feelings/desires centre stage whilst acquiescing their own safety and dignity. Women are the most oppressed demographic in the world and yet we've been told that we should be punched in the face in boxing matches by people that are essentially men. And fucking well like it.

MassiveWordSalad · 08/04/2026 14:30

I can’t fathom that people, Steph here being the latest example, have heard all about the “transgender hate” on Mumsnet, but haven’t read any of the threads about sex and gender discussion going back years and years. Where have you heard about this so-called hate? Why wouldn’t you look for yourself and read what the people here are saying? That’s what I did, years ago, when I was someone who thought trans-identifying men were misunderstood souls who needed the kindness of women like me. I was here for the parenting stuff, but when some of the feminism and gender threads turned up in ‘trending’ I discovered that actually, the trans-rights movement poses a threat to women’s rights, including to the very definition of the word woman. I had always thought of myself as a feminist and therefore some people out there in the world who I’d never even met thought I was a “TERF”. I did lots of reading and lurking before I ever made a post because the knowledge and expertise of those who have been involved in this board for a long time was very apparent, and I could find answers to most of my questions.

But no, why bother with any of that when you can just wade in with assumptions and get the women here to run around doing the work for you, even though we’ve been through this sooooooo many times. Nowadays you even have the option of getting AI to do a summary, but I guess that’s not good enough either.

The occasional glance at the Transgender Uk Reddit forum, strangely, does not show up any parallel threads of people piling in to ask “so I’ve heard you lot are a bunch of misogynists, what’s that all about then?”, gleaning pages of helpful responses and explanations. Why do we think that could be?

On the off-chance anyone new here genuinely wants to learn something, here’s the oft-quoted ‘break it down for me’ thread that was started intwo thousand and fucking eighteen.

Break it down for me? | Mumsnet

Hi all, I am fairly new to the discussion on the impact that transwomen are having on women generally and I want to more fully understand the issues (...

MightyDandelionEsq · 08/04/2026 14:31

They’re not women.
They’ll never be women even if they mutilate and medicate themselves.
They have no experience of womanhood and never will.
Their definition of woman is regressive and sexist.
I want my own sex segregated spaces for my own privacy, dignity and safety.
A sign on a door won’t stop a predator, but allowing anyone in who claims they’re a woman makes it a hell of a lot easier for a predator.

Women aren’t shields for cross dressing men who other males won’t accept. This is a men’s problem and they should work out how to accept trans identified males instead of women having to play the nurturing role as per usual.

I think getting a staff member is probably all we can do, and hope they can sort it out, but I honestly don't believe 99.9 percent of transwomen do pass in such a way that it's impossible to tell.

The problem is, for too long, when we've complained, and an obvious man is using the female facilities, we've been called bigots and ignored. Some women have even been themselves banned from gyms and places like that for complaining about obvious male presences.

I would call the staff of the organisation in question and expect them to uphold the law.

rose69 · 08/04/2026 14:31

Do you believe that:

  1. someone with a penis should share a cell with a vulnerable woman in prison
  2. they should share a tent with a young girl at guide camp
  3. they should have the benefit of male puberty and be able to disadvantage women in sports, therefore loosing them money. Or that a woman who has been raped should be able to have therapy sessions with biological females.

The transgender Reddit is also full of men experiencing euphoria boners when entering women’s spaces, stealth raping straight men, often coming out as trans when their wife suddenly has a baby and can’t leave, AGP behaviour to the extreme…

once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

I couldn't remember the term for DSD as I was typing to be honest. But where are your sources for the DSD thing? I'm yet to see any objective evidence that Khelif is anything other than a not very feminine looking woman.

Honestly op. Saying you can't change sex and as such should not access the opposite sex's single sex areas is not hate, it is fact.

Well, quite. This is part of why I do not wish single sex spaces to expand to include transwomen.

There is nothing that can be done now, really, but the social contact has to date been reasonably strong and I've felt confident that if I were in a single sex space and a man was in there and I was intimidated, I could go to the owner of the premises and expect them to be on my side.

If we change that definition of woman to "anyone who identifies as" - we essentially no longer have single sex spaces as anyone could make that argument, in good faith or bad.

Orchardly · 08/04/2026 14:34

GCornotGCthatisthequestion · 08/04/2026 13:43

I think that the issue is that this is pretty much the only mainstream forum where you can post anything that goes against the view that transwomen are women and should be treated as such in all circumstances. This view has implications for women but we're not allowed to discuss it anywhere else. Because it's the only place you get a whole range of views here, from those who are coming from a place of concern for women's rights to people who actively hate the entire concept of people transitioning and those that do it.

Doesn't that make you think that perhaps there’s a reason for that, and that Mumsnet is on the wrong side of history?

If you look hard enough online you’ll find places where you can spout anti-Black, anti-Jewish, anti-anything hate, it doesn't make it okay.

Everyone on Mumsnet seems to hate at least one cohort of society though, be it transgender people, the Muslims, the poor… it just shows what an intolerant environment the mods are prepared to host.
