This is a real shame. I was hugely looking forward to the case.

Come on, TRAs! Support your pal Steph.

Me too. Not enough to pay for it, though.

Anyway, as @ArabellaScott says, that's the job of TRAs and allies.

Well if you’ve got 15 grand it could still happen!

LowLightsHighLights · 27/05/2026 15:09

IIRC, his original target was £17,000. When the end of the first period of time for the crowdfunder beckoned without it having been raised, he stretched it, with some faff about the legals etc.

And he really hasn't got much further since then 😄

He's so thick, he hasn't even pinned his appeal to the top of his X feed. He's got some random, pointless post from 2023 pinned 😜

Oh dear, crowd fund still stalled at less than half with only 4 days to go.

Sad times.

LowLightsHighLights · 27/05/2026 15:19

BREAKING NEWS ALERT

He's literally stretched it again, this afternoon 😆

By another 30 days.

He’s not a young bloke, he might end up dead of old age before he reaches the target.

LowLightsHighLights · 27/05/2026 16:02

He must have got his lawyers to write to CrowdJustice again, because according their rules you can only extend a stretch target, not an initial one that was never reached (his wasn't).

Give it up Stephen, they're not digging deep for you!

MyAmpleSheep · 27/05/2026 16:05

Maybe JKR should fund it. For certainty. I wonder what the reddisphere would say if she did.

Humanity itself will probably die out before he reaches the target!

moto748e · 27/05/2026 16:23

BTW, has JKR always had "rhymes with bowling, not growling" pinned on her X feed? I'm not on X, and only noticed it yesterday. So I've been saying it wrong all these years.

She's had it there for a while.

Cue lots of tedious TRAs going "something something she wants us to acknowledge how she identifies!!" 🙄

At this point it's Zeno's crowdfunder.

moto748e · 27/05/2026 17:07

Great record, I reckon.

His refusal to accept the truth is what got him into this situation in the first place - but there is something quite delicious about watching him fail repeatedly here though.

WallaceinAnderland · 28/05/2026 19:02

What is the point in extending again? If people are going to give, they would have done so by now.

Why fund Steph when you could fund Jolyon. I mean the /tAs have so many options of legal failure to fund.

Maybe Steph's mistake is not looking for funds to sue obnoxious sexist guys who bash foxes.

Sarah Phillimore's fund is now at 49k and climbing.

Wow. £15,000 seems to have come in overnight 🤔

(Not sure if Mumsnet will post the link, as it's a fundraiser.)

So, it seems that more than £15,000 has come in overnight 🤔

Good for him. I hope the case goes ahead, it will be popcorn worthy.

I would love to know whether that includes a very large single donation.

And if there was one, what the motivation for it was. To see Steph win or to see Steph lose?

I don't suppose I will ever know, which is mildly frustrating.
