Oh I can have a fairly good idea for sure.

Why fight prejudice when you can just double down on it?

GlovedhandsCecilia · 28/03/2026 17:28

CornishDaughteroftheDawn · 28/03/2026 17:24

Why not? Would anyone have even heard of Caster if he wasn’t dominating in women’s sports without being female?

Because it isnt about women and sport. You know how men complain about things like women's groups and breast cancer awareness month, but then never actually initiate or support similar schemes for men? It is just about complaining that women have it.

That's the same for women and sport. Hardly anyone does anything much to support girls and women having access to sport but then so many women claim to be ever so passionate about it when it comes to transpeople in sport. How vital it is to support female.athletes etc but then nobody watches them compete. Just happy to talk about this issue online.

Then state that, not the version of "it's only white people" that you went with.

CS is intersex so insisting on ‘he’ is not the gotcha you think it is.

we need proper, intelligent strong arguments. Not emotive jabs.

the argument stands up for itself without cheap shots that have no logical basis

He is not intersex because intersex does not exist. Semanya has a very specific DSD , the configuration of which means that he is biologically male and has been through male puberty. This information is in the public domain because Semanya disputed the IOC findings and his genetic profile was then released because that was the agreed protocol. Had he not challenged the IOC his medical information would have remained private.

White people are in the powere holding group throughout the world so - and don’t far racism on account of the pigmentation of their skin

So if Nigerians hold the power in Nigeria, it’s not possible to be racist to a Nigerian?

I don’t agree with your first statement either. Do white people ‘hold the power’ in India, the Middle East, Africa or South America? I think the majority population of those continents/regions would beg to differ.

Uglydumpling · 28/03/2026 17:32

SergeantWrinkles · 28/03/2026 17:22

“In Africa, breasts aren’t covered”????

ate you seriously suggesting that an entire continent of women are routinely undressed from the waist up? You realise that Africa is made up of 54 sovereign states, only a few of which have rural tribes who go bare breasted. What an appallingly ignorant statement!

Sorry I meant in the rural place caster grew up

We're not discussing trans people in sport on this thread. Semanya isn't trans, he has a DSD

Blueskiesnotgrey · 28/03/2026 17:34

GlovedhandsCecilia · 28/03/2026 17:19

What's that got.to do with the lies that Semanya biologically created these children with sperm?

You domt know that that is a lie, its is perfectly possible, and in fact almost routine for men with 5ARD to do this. I was a research assisted in an IVF clinic years ago and we had a patient do so using ICSI. I dont know why the world collectively forgot about 30 years of scientific and medical knowledge about DSDs one day in 2016, or pretended to, but this is a well understood condition that Caster Semenya has, with well understood treatments including aided fertility. He is a biological male, however he chooses to identify, and so should not be in females sports.

This is just fact, and nothing to do with predjudice or racism. Im sorry if people don't have the scientific understanding to understand that to be the case, but it doesn't alter the facts of the matter. And that his children might be adopted or they might be biologically his using assisted reproduction. No one can say for sure, apart from him and his wife, beacsue he hasn't made a public statement about it.

So just even more sweeping generalisations.

Can you explain how campaigning for male free sport for women is not making it about sport for women?

Hardly anyone does anything much to support girls and women having access to sport

How do you know what any of us do?

BTW, Semenya is not trans, you do know that?

SwirlyGates · 28/03/2026 17:38

Uglydumpling · 28/03/2026 16:51

Please don’t do that - it’s very insulting to the person

I’m delighted at the decision and that it will be clear going forward

please respect the difficult situation of being intersex and that Caster was raised female and sees herself as female - it’s not straight for ward for her

you can do both

Have you seen the picture of him on the beach on a school trip as a teenager, wearing long shorts and nothing else? Or the picture of him in school uniform - the boys' school uniform, not the girls'? I have no idea if he was thought to be a girl when he was born, but by the time he was a teenager he definitely saw himself as a boy and acted like one.

He has utter contempt for women too.

Sadly they do - Nigeria may have gained independence but is not free from neocolonial pressure from white powers - it doesn’t exist in a vacuum

yes the global majority of people are black or brown skinned

look at what trumps doing…massive white colonial imperialist power

thetinsoldier · 28/03/2026 17:38

bumptybum · 28/03/2026 16:47

Based on legal, sporting, and medical assessments, an individual like Caster Semenya with 46,XY chromosomes, DSD (specifically 5-ARD), internal testes, and high testosterone (male range) is generally considered to have a biological makeup that is neither exclusively female nor male, but rather intersex, despite having female external features

you can opine all you want but the factors they are intersex. This is a biological Position. They are neither male nor female

They are completely separate category from transgender. And whilst I do not believe into intersex individuals should be competing with women, I also am well aware that calling them a man and he is just as incorrect as calling them a woman or she

He is a man. Every single person in the world has a sex. He is a man with a DSD that only men get.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 28/03/2026 17:38

Well this thread feels like a Reddit set up....

spindrifft · 28/03/2026 17:39

MelOfTheRoses · 28/03/2026 17:07

They can have 5ard which is a recessive gene condition that affects conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which results in less body hair in females, and underdeveloped external genitalia in males.

Women can have 5-ARD but it's not a DSD in those cases. The development of female sex characteristics doesn't depend on DHT, and so 5-ARD doesn't disrupt normal development.

SergeantWrinkles · 28/03/2026 17:39

Uglydumpling · 28/03/2026 17:32

Again, you are making assumptions based on crude racial stereotypes. Semanye grew up in the Limpopo region of South Africa. Women there do not routinely go around bare breasted. Semanye is male. He has been recorded as saying he doesn’t like girls because ‘they are too soft’. He know he’s male.

you have zero knowledge of what women on this forum do in relation to women and girls and sport.

But even if none of us ever supported a local sports club or watched a single second of sport on TV we would still have every right to have opinions on women’s sport and whether cheating men should be allowed to take part.

TwoLoonsAndASprout · 28/03/2026 17:40

Is it time to haul out this yet? Which of these does CS produce, do we think?

Poor Semenya
CassOle · 28/03/2026 17:40

For those with doubts that 5ARD is a male developmental disorder, please see the flowchart attached.

NB- I am not being unkind by using the term 'developmental disorder', it is accurate as DSD stands for disorders of sex development.

Well I like watching athletics, but it is more than watching female sports. It is about supporting women who have spent years honing their skills, working hard, sacrificing social and family life, training and pushing themselves through barriers of physical pain only to find that indifferent male athletes who can’t hack competing against male athletes because they just aren’t fast enough, skilled enough or hard working enough, are sneaking under the wire and stealing scholarships, titles, financial rewards, records, medals and memories from female athletes.

If sport is to have any validity it has to be about fairness, about competing on a level playing field otherwise records and individual achievements have no value. If you think it wouldn’t be fair for Usain Bolt to enter the mums race at his kids primary school then think about why it isn’t fair for other biologically male athletes who have been through male puberty to compete against female athletes.
