Whether you are male or female has nothing to do with the pigmentation of your skin.

He's a man with a DSD. He has internal testes. A person who has testes is a man. He knows that.

Based on legal, sporting, and medical assessments, an individual like Caster Semenya with 46,XY chromosomes, DSD (specifically 5-ARD), internal testes, and high testosterone (male range) is generally considered to have a biological makeup that is neither exclusively female nor male, but rather intersex, despite having female external features

you can opine all you want but the factors they are intersex. This is a biological Position. They are neither male nor female

They are completely separate category from transgender. And whilst I do not believe into intersex individuals should be competing with women, I also am well aware that calling them a man and he is just as incorrect as calling them a woman or she

biwr · 28/03/2026 16:47

Semenya has natural testosterone in the male range so has no place competing against females in any sport.

murasaki · 28/03/2026 16:48

CassOle · 28/03/2026 16:42

Erik Schinegger is white. He is also a male with a DSD that only males can have. He also completed in the female class (skiing in this case) until it was found that he was not female.

Amd he handed his medal back to the woman who should have won. As he is an honourable person. Unlike Semenya, who is a duplicitous arsehole.

dementedpixie · 28/03/2026 16:42

He has a dsd that only affects men
He isn't between sexes; he is male, complete with his internal testicles

And yet people was far more letters after their name, than you disagree with you

spannasaurus · 28/03/2026 16:50

5-alpha reductase deficiency is a condition that affects sexual development before birth and during puberty. People with this condition are genetically male, with one X and one Y chromosome in each cell, and they have male gonads (testes)

BiologicalRobot · 28/03/2026 16:50

That is a particularly uneducated statement as humans are either male or female, they cannot be neither (nor both). Even when dead you are either male or female. And CS is male.

He

Please don’t do that - it’s very insulting to the person

I’m delighted at the decision and that it will be clear going forward

please respect the difficult situation of being intersex and that Caster was raised female and sees herself as female - it’s not straight for ward for her

you can do both

He really doesn't. Watch any interview with him and you will see exactly how male he is.

spannasaurus · 28/03/2026 16:52

This is Semanya at 15 on a school trip. Do you really think he thought he was a girl

Poor Semenya

On what basis do you make this assertion?

He's a man. The condition he has is only found in men. He's not something in between male and female.
FWIW I'm fed up with people being untruthful about their biology. It's always to the detriment of females.

Caster is not intersex.

Caster is a man with 5-ARD. This is why he can no longer compete in the women's category.

if I didn’t know anything about the subject in this photo, I’d be certain it’s not a fifteen year old girl, who would absolutely not pose topless like this.

She is neither exclusively female or male

she has xy chromosomes and that is why she can’t compete any longer with women and rightly so

it’s doesn’t stop that she external female genitalia

many people with 5ARD who who raised as girls, identify as boys after puberty.
(unless remaining a girl is financially lucrative i guess)

Edited

Women can also have this condition, but it just results in less body hair and has no effect on their athletic success, or otherwise.

Boiledbeetle · 28/03/2026 17:03

bumptybum · 28/03/2026 16:38

CS is intersex so insisting on ‘he’ is not the gotcha you think it is.

we need proper, intelligent strong arguments. Not emotive jabs.

the argument stands up for itself without cheap shots that have no logical basis

He has a DSD. Humans with a DSD are either a male with a DSD or a female with a DSD.
HE is a male with a DSD.

So I see no problem with that poster correcting someone who calls him she.

No, they may have other dsds, but this one only happens to males.

He had ambiguous genitalia at birth and was miscategorised as female. At puberty he would have known he was male. You cannot be neither male or female: you are one or the other. The DSD he has affects only males so thats what sex he is
