It is not clear how many people will be directly affected by the rule change, as the organisation says it does not collect data on gender identity.

Transgender girls told to leave Girlguiding groups by September

It follows an announcement in December that transgender members would be banned from joining.

Just to advise you all, Zoe Williams in the Guardian ( where else?), is bleating about how unfair it is that trans identifying boys are no longer welcome. And it could all have been solved if the Girl Guides had changed the name to something more inclusive. I'm having a face palm moment here. I really don't understand why they are like this and why they don't understand what it's all about. Could one of you please explain it to to her, before I blow a gasket? 😱

If they turned it mixed sex and fully ‘inclusive’ then the men who are driving this would no longer be interested.

I agree

But I do see potential value in giving teenage/young person identities that are currently funnelled into "trans" and therefore creating divisive and angry clashes with single sex needs the possibility of new mixed sex social groups that fit them.

If there was a "mixed sex, likes things pretty and soft" type of kids club I'm sure lots of the younger trans identifying boys would be just as happy there as in their current "transgirl" box, not least because the conflict and (unwarranted) fear that comes with being "trans" entirely go away.

Most girls in girls don’t want ‘pretty and soft’ - it was the desire by girls to do things that weren’t ‘pretty and soft’ that led to the start of girl guiding. The idea that it should be for those who like ‘pretty and soft’ shows the harms of gender ideology.

They could always join the Woodcraft Folk.

Oh yes, I'm not suggesting actual girls need to join the "pretty and soft club".

Quite the opposite.

I'm suggesting the "pretty and soft" club should be totally disconnected from both the word and the concept of "a girl" . Kids of both sexes who like "pretty and soft" get their club, and girls who like doing Brownie and Guide things in an all girl environment get theirs.
