Steph Richards (TIM) again appointed to a position at endometriosis charity

The headline dishonestly implies that the issue with this appointment is because Richards is trans-identified, rather than because he is male. I wouldn't have any issue with a trans-identified woman affected by endometriosis being appointed. You'd think they would have learnt their lesson from last time when he was appointed CEO. If Richards and the charity gave a damn about women they would have taken on board the level of offence generated then.

Appointment of trans person as endometriosis representative ridiculed

The novelist Amanda Craig has criticised the appointment of Steph Richards, saying ‘it’s as ridiculous as white people speaking for black people’

This is Steph who likes to 'strut their stuff' in changing rooms.

That practice of head tilting seems very common in men who are attempting to appear more female in photos. It is purely an affectation, of course.

However, it not only hides adam's apples and distracts from jaw lines, but it hides double chins and I think they think it makes them appear softer, approachable /questioning / quizzical / not likely to be violent / whatever. It becomes their automatic go to pose for photographs.

And then they come out with menacing statements towards the women that disagree that they are in any way female.

Haven't followed any of the links. Is this really a re-run of the debacle of a few years ago? We learned then that this is little more than a one woman charity, so Steph's claim to be CEO was puzzling. There was no money to change hands so it had to be all about validation for Steph, who as I recall has no obvious experience or qualifications to merit a post with that title.

He has been appointed to a role there for a second time.

The interview on the first page is totally worth listening to. About 22 minutes in.

Emma Bartlett is bloody good.

I don't remember listening to that interview first time round but gosh wasn't Emma Barnett brilliant?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 23/03/2026 12:31

CriticalCondition · 23/03/2026 12:03

Emma B repeatedly skewers him by questioning why a male transactivist with a long history of criticising / silencing women and campaigning to remove the word woman from public life is suddenly a suitable man to head up a women's gynae charity.

Well worth listening to, to hear his vacuous arguments and desperate attempts to derail as she highlights how unsuitable he is.

Stand out quote from Steph's "all about me" page is:
" I can only beg parents that if their young (school-aged) son or daughter declares they have gender issues, take it seriously and be kind. If a boy says he is trans, it is likely true, but occasionally, girls change their minds a few years later, so extra care is required."

So if boys say they are trans, believe it. If girls say they are trans then it could be a phase so be careful?

Right.

That could easily be that if a boy says he's trans it's probably true, but he might change his mind subsequently, but Steph is now calling him a girl, because he said he's trans, he's a girl. Until he detransitions, and then he's a boy again.

lol. Operation let them speak has opened the eyes of many people, and that little tweet will be perceived exactly as it should be

Another head tilt! Just why?

At 71 I'm two years younger than Steph - women our age don't assume this pose... well unless we've had too much to drink!

Right.

Doesn't that just summarise the misogyny inherent to their movement? Of course I don't believe any child should be transed but the whole 'take boys seriously but the girls are just being silly' thing I've seen from numerous TIMs.

Honestly repulsive behaviour. No consideration for the needs and wellbeing of women and girls. All about his desire to 'strut' his way into spaces not for him.

Is he genuinely the best candidate regardless of his sex?
Pretty unlikely

He's an ex-hairdresser! But supposedly has a 'background in medical research' according to translucent.

Totally.

And it's a really good demonstration of exactly how to have those arguments skewered.

If this man gets questioned anywhere, by anyone with any sense, it's easy to, um enlighten people.

You can't be a transactivist claiming that a woman is a feeling in a man's head, while at the same time saying you're a fricken feminist with women's interests at heart ! 😁

I wonder if Steph even realises what that tweet upthread says about him. I'm thinking not.

PTSDBarbiegirl · 23/03/2026 12:44

Would it be ok for a privileged white British man to represent the interests of deprived black black women in Africa with intimate care health issues, because he 'identifies as trans'? Where else would this larpy, ridiculous social contagion spread be acceptable... GTAF

I'd take that claim with a pinch of salt. I've spoken to Steph at length on more than one occasion and as well as being totally deluded (they truly believe they pass and are a real woman) they are really very dumb.

TinselAngel · 23/03/2026 12:51

As ever when threads come up about Steph, a reminder that he wrote an article on his website about how much he hates me.

Oh and he got a trans widow to write a story on his website about how she’s more enlightened than the rest of us, presumably as an attempt to confound Google algorithms.

Weirdly I know of two men who are quite shocked by this, despite being not particularly bothered by e.g. men in women’s sports.

Yup. That's one of the many lasting impressions from the interview with Emma Barnett. Steph and Jodie are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. Jodie says endometriosis is too much about gynaecology.🙄

MrsOvertonsWindow · 23/03/2026 12:59

Steph forgets that women (and the internet) keep receipts. So his repeated verbal assaults on women, his demands to erase women's language are all on record. As are his protests outside feminist meetings. That's why Emma was so successful with her challenges.
His extreme distaste for women is plastered all over the internet and as the days of pandering to the sacred caste are now over, he and his mates are being held to account for their misogynistic, verbal incontinence.
