“My removal from the international women’s day event by the police.

I had been asking women’s organisations whether their services were for women only. This caused alarm and distress and the venue, claimed to be privately owned when it’s owned by the council, asked me to leave for asking questions.

I have footage of every interaction that I will upload later so you can see what those questions were and you can judge for yourself.”

Let's have a rare moment of honesty on MN; Jezebel aren't exactly wrong in taking that view.

I can't help but feel that your opinion of KJK is coloured by your view of what counts as transphobia.

CraftandGlamour · 09/03/2026 11:12

borntobequiet · 09/03/2026 06:19

KJK is well hated by reality deniers, which tells you all you need to know about them.

Saves me typing out exactly the same observation, tah. (Just corrected my own typo: sane thing. Maybe I should have left it)

ItsNotOrwell · 09/03/2026 10:37

Hmm - I saw at least one that wasn’t. I wouldn’t say it called for for her removal from the event, but it was far from polite.

Which one are you talking about?

ItsNotOrwell · 09/03/2026 09:56

Where did I suggest she is a racist? In any case, I did suggest her Twitter feed. Did you miss that? Or am I supposed to copy and paste mountains of tweets for posters here to then only say, “She didn’t mean that, but this …” I’m not a mug.

Yes, you don't have to copy and paste them all, just enough to make your case, put up or shut up.

Personally, I've no time for Posie Parker or for those who support her

Oh good, does that mean you won't be engaging with this thread...

What do you think counts as transphobia, and when do you think MN started to be captured by anti-trans ideology?

Please do answer as I'm genuinely interested. The more engagement the better, regardless of the tone of that engagement.

Gloriia · 09/03/2026 12:17

'when do you think MN started to be captured by anti-trans ideology?'

Why do you think anyone is anti trans? Most if not all support anyone's right to dress as they please but you cannot change sex and then access women's areas. That is not anti trans it is factual.

It hasn’t been captured at all. In fact, it has been released from the shackles imposed on it in former years by those who demanded everyone to believe that people could change sex - Stonewall in the main.
At the start of the 2020s, subscribers would be warned by MN if they dared say ‘but people can’t change sex, so how can men become women?’. Now we are able to be open, honest and factually correct. Why do you see that as a problem?

Please tell me more. Why do you think that? How did you come to that conclusion? Please post more, much more, about this subject. Thanks 😊

LOL that was sarcasm - inference tricky for you?

I take it you have a problem with freedom of speech and space to allow women to discuss their human rights?

I take it you have a problem with freedom of speech and space to allow women to discuss their human rights?

Then you take it incorrectly.

Why do you think that? Please elaborate.

Oh dear - gasp - not polite?!

I suppose she must have staged a piss protest? Smash windows? Screamed & jeered at participants? Physically threatened them? What none of those? Just tricky questions… how ghastly

Youve referred to discussions on mumsnet (incorrectly) as transphobic. You have declined to offer a definition of what you consider transphobia to mean. Here on mumsnet we don’t consider the discussion of biological fact and the incursion into Womens human rights by trans identifying males as transphobic. The law agrees with our opinions and increasingly your definition of transphobia (which I assume requires adherence to counter factual claims that humans can be born in the wrong body or can change sex) is in decline. Your interaction with this thread is evidence free and unlikely to convince anyone that your arguments/points have any merit. It seems intended to disrupt a discussion by mumsnet test who are discussing opinions held by the vast majority of the UK population and which are supported in law. Your claim this is transphobia is therefore inaccurate and evoking this “phobia” attempts to shut down our completely legal and reasonable discussion of provable facts. If your intention were not to suppress freedom of speech you wouldn’t be interacting with this thread with (largely) irrelevancies HTH

Are you aware that people (like me) end up reading these threads and (nonsensical) posts like yours end up peaking them? Thank you for your service

Yes what on earth did she do that 'wasn't polite'?! Surely there must be footage of this display of impoliteness?

From what I saw she was calm, concise, not remotely sarky as I'd have been. In fact the only impolite thing was calling the police for a woman daring to ask about the provision of women only spaces. The police! What an absolute waste of resources.

You are very fond of this loaded framing.

Have you ever heard of "when did you stop beating your wife"? Look it up.

It is not the way to get people to engage with you if you genuinely want that. I suspect you don't.

"On the British parenting website Mumsnet, which has become a toxic breeding ground for transphobia"

So, @MissScarletInTheBedroom , do you believe that female people should have single sex provisions that exclude all male people? Do you believe that it is transphobic to want female people to have those female single sex provisions?

Really? I did not know that. So if MN is an organisation that simply swings in whatever direction the wind is blowing, is that why it allows increasingly aggressive and divisive ideologies to flourish on its boards; it's simply tooting on the same horn, as we say in my country, and going along with the general rise of the political right-wing?

Thank you, that really does help to explain a lot of what we're seeing here.

Helleofabore · 09/03/2026 04:17

If this is supposed to be a comparable situation, I think your comparative fails on a few aspects.

The women were at an International Women’s Day event, and the people who were asked the questions were there representing their organisations on the day and were asked about their organisation’s policies.

But why is it wrong to say "you need to speak to my colleague Karen....she's the morbidly obese one in the corner."? We're told hurty feelz are apparently not a factor when discussing biological reality.

All women - all of us - have a right to spaces without men. I don't think even you could argue with that point...

How do you say "loaded framing" in your country?

I can argue with that point actually.

If by 'all of us', you mean that you believe that some male people are 'women', then no, I don't agree with that premise. Are you a male person who describes themselves as a woman? Is that what you mean by 'us'?
