What's the deal guys?

I don't think this post is going to last long but what's the deal with hating trans women so much? I've been a women for 13 years of my life since 18 and it's never been a problem. Suddenly I'm not only talk of the town but also an evil man stealing everyone's rights away from them? I wasn't much of a boy as a kid anyway but. I just wanted to ask like what's the deal? Why do you hate the idea of me existing so much? What have I personally done to you that's been so bad? I feel like I need to be careful with my words because it'll be easy to accuse me of all sorts but I've done no harm to anyone. If you want to ask a trans woman some honest questions then please do, I don't usually talk about it in my day to day life and that, I'm pretty down to earth and will help you understand as much as possible. But I'd like to ask the people that hate me so much, can we ever get along? Please don't assume I'm what the internet and the media says I am though, I'm not like that at all! I just want us all to get on and I'm sick of having my life debated every 5 minutes.

Didn’t dickens do that

I am not sure which book you are thinking of. I do draw a distinction between instances where the narrator/character doesn't know something and we discover it along with him. Like Pip - if that is who you are thinking of. That's okay.
But when the narrator knows something and doesnt tell you - like Lucy Śnow in Villette not saying who she is making a gift for I find that annoying.
I accept this is a fine distinction and perhaps I am a bit inconsistent.
But so many people are inconsistent I find.

We're all still waiting for that guidance and the inevitable influence of the ECHR.

The High Court has just confirmed the fact that in its interim guidance the EHRC was correct in its interpretation of the law as clarified by the Supreme Court. The legal advice to employers and service providers is to follow the law as clearly stated and many are now doing so, hence all the squealing on Reddit.

Smash away. I support everyone to have the right to do whatever they wish with their own bodies and genders.

That is your self image. But your self described actions do not match your belief.

I wouldn't say it was illegal for us to adopt. Bad law is unenforceable law.

We were a nice successful couple, who fit the profile.

Didn't you say that you had to hide your status?

If they knew I had transitioned there would have been no adoption, nor a marriage

I'm trying to understand.

Sex realist is so much more accurate than gender critical. I'm surprised more don't use it.

I use both. I'm realistic about the immutability and centrality of sex and highly critical of the social construct of gender with its restrictive and damaging stereotypes of behaviour and presentation.

I also have a lovely T-shirt from a boiled beetle image that she sent me tis my pride and joy i could post that too.

We're going to learn just how enforceable the law and interpretation are.

Anyone else hear
"That is your belief"

In the same style as "it's for the greater good" as per Hot Fuzz?

I know it's shocking for you to hear, but no.

Well, I partially agree with you, in that male and female experiences overlap quite a lot, what with us all being humans (though quite a lot of trans-identifying people claim they have been "dehumanised" by naughty gc feminists). But we men cannot truthfully claim actual experiences as women; the nearest you can get is if someone genuinely mistakes you for a woman.

I doubt if in that case someone who knows he is really a man would have the same experience as someone who is genuinely female.

I hid nothing. My identity is unambiguous.

No, all I'm hearing is an ancient Perry Como song: 🙄

The book of life is brief
And once a page is read
All but love is dead
That is my belief

Title: And I love you so 😁

I hear it in the style of "You might think that, I couldn't possibly comment".

Hedgehogforshort · 19/02/2026 22:47

Only a page and a bit to go

Hedgehogforshort · 19/02/2026 22:47

Even less of a page and a bit to go

On the one hand you hid nothing; on the other hand you've stated If they knew I had transitioned there would have been no adoption.

Ergo you hid the fact that you transitioned. Presumably, you're now claiming that you merely failed to mention it.

It's a variation of the observer's paradox, I think. What is, is as it is. Until it isn't.

Yes, I can see some people deciding to join vigilante groups to hunt down the trans people.

It's not violent to defend our rights any way we can. Suffragettes did the same thing. Bombs even (I'd never promote that). I will not apologise for taking any necessary steps to protect female spaces, not now, not ever.

Maybe they learned by watching the TRAs hunting down sex realists and disrupting their meetings.

Nope. Hunt down males who enter female spaces. The trans part is irrelevant. Years ago males entering the ladies were dealt with by police and/or males in society.
