They've lowered the vocal for him, but not far enough for him to sing it properly. Is that footage really from an actual Broadway performance? He looks under-rehearsed in terms of knowing where to be on stage etc. His dancing is much worse than I'd have expected. Other than that pretty good.

But his performance is poor. It’s not up Broadway standards and we shouldn’t have to pretend that it is just because of who he is.

I saw Six on broadway last week. The vocals were fantastic. Thank god I missed DM’s performance. It does pride itself on being an all female cast and says it at the start of the show. I wonder if they kept that bit in….

He's not there as a performer, though. He's there for rubbernecking. I find this man pretty irritating, but I think its cruel to put him in this position. Sure, its generating publicity - here we are talking about it - but its at his expense.

It's literally a Broadway musical that people have paid lots of money to see omg, not some high school production. I don't suppose they thought they'd see such a poor performance from someone who appears to think he's on par with the female cast - they no doubt assumed he'd be up to the job.

When I saw SIX you were encouraged to stand up, dance, film and sing along to the final number.

So I suspect it’s video of the Megasix finale that’s doing the rounds, where he’ll stand out even more as all the actors take part in it.

Just to address this - the MegaSix at the end is explicitly there to be videoed, Cleves tells the audience to 'get your phones out, you're gonna wanna film this' and who would disobey a queen?

It's a massive shame for the talented women in the show. Six Broadway socials seem to be pushing the return of Adrianna Hicks and Anna Uzele more now the massive shortcomings of Mulvaney have been exposed but they should have focused on them in the first place. Too late now.

You’re encouraged to film that bit.

I'm not really against a man playing the role in drag (or a woman playing Henry, if he were to appear onstage), musical theatre is not supposed to be a hyper realistic genre. But it only works if the performance brings something, be that humour, poignancy, quality of singing or dancing, etc.
