Hard to answer this question as my experience is that this is a non-thing in real life, at least in the UK. I live in London.
I have encountered in my wider social circle one individual only who has described themselves as trans and uses a male name now (transman.)
I think there has been one person in my gym who was a transwoman but I haven't seen them in months. This person appears to be going through/have gone through a medical transition.
Lots of people (although many fewer lately) started using pronouns in signatures at work a couple of years back but none have never not aligned with their outward facing gender.
No children who fit this description in my older DC school, the younger has a couple. Younger DC's school is also huge. We've attended vast sporting events as well with the younger DD and no sign of natal boys in girls events.
I grew up in the US and my main exposure to 'real life people' in these situations or with children in these situations is in FB groups. I do have a US friend with a nephew who is transition (one other RL person.) It feels more common there?
So - I've kind of ignored this or only lightly followed.
Am I the only person who feels like despite all the noise, trans has passed them by?
