Spotted on the Guardian today:

Raising money for the kimono-clad fox-killer's "Good" Law Project.

Definitely one to avoid!

Sugababes, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Wolf Alice and more to play all-star charity concert for trans rights

Organised by Olly Alexander and the Mighty Hoopla festival to ‘fight back against the politics of fear and exclusion’, Trans Mission will take place at Wembley Arena in March

I’d be there but it’s bin day tomorrow, and those bins don’t clean themselves.

ScrollingLeaves · 10/03/2026 21:55

I read about this elsewhere and saw this which seems to me to be an example of an extraordinary level of indulging in self-obsession. Imagine him comparing himself to a Palestinian.

Among those performers is Tom Rasmussen, the trail-blazing trans musician known for their distinctive queer dance-pop. 'Conversations that happen within the community are often about the interconnectedness of struggle, says Tom.
My rights as a trans person, and therefore as a marginalised person, are linked directly to the rights of refugees who are facing horrific prejudice and violence, and to people in Palestine who continue to live through genocide.

This is merging with the ‘one crappy job a day’ threads over in Chat.

Surprised that no-one is reorganizing their tupperware drawer. I will be busy refreshing the grout in the shower.

Tena And The Lady Bulges.

(Somebody take my phone off me, pls.)

Absolutely not. You're on fire tonight. Haven't laughed this much in ages.

I honestly thought this was about Tom's Dad. Rocking up on stage like Bez from the Happy Mondays.

I think I’ve seen them at Glastonbury. Possibly the Poetry and Words tent at 4am, like all the best acts.

As for tomorrow night, sadly I need to refile some old credit card bills but the spice cupboard needs a good reorganisation first.

The Spice Jars aren't the same since Ginger left.

I'm actually going tomorrow night (my son is a musician for one of the artists performing, could be the only time he ever gets to play at Wembley), I'll report back.

Doing the Lord's (ladeez) work right here!

Looking forward to the review. Much of the lineup is decent so hope you won't be bored at least. Please tell us all about Jolyon's slot for the lols.

Grouter Thunberg in a cameo performance of Bathroom Blitz?

I thought I might do my roots and wax my chin hairs if I have time. Self care yanno

"..if it's not sold out I might grab a ticket at the last minute"

No, Robin, it's not sold out, you're all good there.

He’s not going to get out of it that easily 🤣

I’d go for pompous, unfunny and in love with the sound of his own voice.

Good company with JoMo really

SinnerBoy · 11/03/2026 00:17

On Wolf Alice, (as mentioned upthread) they came on the radio today and I mentioned that they seemed over-rated. DD (12 & 5/6ths) quipped,

"Yeah, they're really bland. Or is it mediocre?"

And the Spice Jars were the Vice Girls, when I was at university. I'd never heard of them; one of the girls said to me "So, you wanna zig a zig ah?"

Me: Blank Look.

Days later, me: "Clare, what's that band you like? The Vice Girls?" (Genuine mistake).

Loving the MN Stadium line-up!

sure we can improve on this event poster…

Perfect. And think of all the advantages.

no overpriced drinks served in flimsy plastic cups

no overpriced food that you can still taste six hours later

no queues for the loo half a mile away and when you get there the toilets are blocked and there is no paper left

no long trudge to the tube station avoiding pavement pizzas (see above re venue food)

no temptation to buy overpriced merch or expensive cheaply made t shirts *

you can wear your slippers / pjs if you want to

*( though I am sure that Lakeland Plastics would jump at the chance to have a stall selling some of their amazing products for cleaning and organising those bits of your house you have never considered need cleaning or organising)

JemimaTab · 11/03/2026 01:18

I see the Transmission Insta says that the “profits” will be split between the GLP and the charity. But what if there are in fact no profits? That doesn’t seem impossible, given that the expenses must be high and ticket sales do not look to be impressive.

ArabellaSaurus · 11/03/2026 06:05

Don't tell Zack, though. This appears to be a wee pinkwashing diversion for KKR.

ArabellaSaurus · 11/03/2026 06:15

When theyre not building buy-to-lets, and buy-to-rents, KKR like to let down their metaphorical hair with a.cheeky hit of faux activism, I guess.

Go Zack! Enjoy the rider, which I'm sure will be generous! The new face of KKR is delighted to support gas pipelines!

Pics of Zack at this would be really good to get, @LoveLuna !

He did say he was going to take cash off the billionaire landlords and energy giants. Maybe we just didnt appreciate he meant like this.

Or maybe he was angling for a VIP freebie…

Would they have been Angry Vice, Lazy Vice, Greedy Vice, Lusty Vice and Arrogant Vice?

Years ago we went to a big gig in Hyde Park. You know exactly what the audience demographic is when the first couple of stalls are for Jaguar Cars and investment advice, and there’s a sign directing you to the champagne bar.

What's the Zak Polanski and KKR link and relevance?
